Looking to get into CRPGs since i just got my first gaming PC. Is BG3 a good bet ? And can i play it fully with a controller ?

Larian is such a great company and so far producing consistently wonderful games. D:OS2 is one of my top 3 favorite games and the utter bonkersness of some of what the player can do is a big reason why.

That is a reason, I dislike the otherwise Top Tier Larian RPGs a bit. I hate to "cheese" or look for experimental and fun ways to solve quests or doing combat. Luckily at least in BG3 you don't have to do that and can play "boring". You just miss out on all the stuff the BG3 community is praising and meme'ing the game for.

Good morning ppl! Recently started Divinity OS, but was I was finishing up FO4. It seems like great place to start w/ Larian. I'll bring the doggie🐶Don't know when I'll get to it though -- 140 hrs into Oblivion and I've barely touched main quest. I love it here in Cyrodiil - living my best vampire life (until I get to Bloodlines, apparently). Thanks Mortym.

Not THAT weird, but in Divinity 2 the dragon lesser known one, one achievement (in-game not Steam, the game is old) is for fighting a Monty Python reference that appears if you kill too many rabbits

That trick to open four instances of the game is how I made a custom party on BG3 on PC. A little funny thinking back when I realized how absolutely awesome the existing party members are and how I was missing so much by not using them.

On PS5 the Mind Blowk has a 10.7% completion. I made a Tav named Chastity to sleep with as many characters as she could, and yes, that included the Emperor. I had minor regrets 😂

I still haven't done the achievement with the Emperor, I can't bring myself to bang a mindflayer. I always antagonize him and then he goes full squid mask off.

Commander was such a fun little game. I really loved the decision making. I remember abusing the units that can 'charm' enemy units EN MASSE and then just overtake every unit and fight the rest with their own army. lol

Icewind Dale 2 has a hilarious achievement where, if you carefully collected all the dead bodies of random things throughout the opening of the game, you can show a big demon you meet your collection, freaking them out, causing them to leave without fighting you :D

I really loved dragon commander even if it did have a decent amount of early Larian jank. I hope they revisit it at some point.

There's a lesser-known Dungeon Crawler/ RPG called Dungeons of Dredmor (2011) by Gaslamp Games. I really like it, not just because it fits the old roguelike style, but the studio was in my town. The game had a hidden achievement that required having a drink with the developers. It was basically just a little in-game joke for their original backers, who were mostly friends and family, but somehow made it to the Steam achievements list.

I think the weirdest achievements I’ve ever done were both in The Stanley Parable: “test achievement please ignore,” and “don’t play the game for ten years.”

As if an achievement were necessary to go for the Emperor. He's my kind of hot 😏

Did you ever do reviews for these older Larian titles? I know you had the lists.

I'd love to see you cover them as singular reviews, especially Dragon Commander. People haven't talked about those games as much

Crushing ppl w chests in DOS1 is probably one of my favorite things to ever do in an RPG. DOS in general was such a wonderful experience. Probably the first RPG I ever played where "do whatever you can think of" was actually possible. Also like stuffing chests with oil barrels, big BOOM!

Emperor romance is still no match for fulsome queen

High on life. I was reading through the achievement list before beating the game and was ready to spend days with my console on in a alien strip club 😂, but thankfully it was just a prank by the final boss of the game.

Looks like Busker is still the rarest achievement in BG3. So more people beat the game on honor mode than just whipped out an instrument around as many NPCs as they could.

Those are definitely weird achievements. 😂

I like how the Emperor is the thumbnail, because his achievement was quite the joke in my circle for a while. (Not me though lol)

Divine divinity and Beyond diviny are good memories. Dragon comander and divinity 2 not so much but Original sin +2 are greate again.
