It looks like you did your research. That will be an awesome aesthetic with it ultimately looking like it doesn’t have a front door.
ОтветитьSo why this type a door versus a roll-up?
ОтветитьNice job. For a door this wide is a transverse brace/truss at the lower edge of the door to prevent any sag when in open position recommended? I see lower edge trusses many times on extremely wide doors that open/hinge from the top/header. Ray
ОтветитьHope you are happy with the speed of the door, these things can be pretty darn slow to open and close.
ОтветитьI'm certainly not a framer, but I had a question about the LVL above the door. During the video you can see it being installed, and it appears that it is simply screwed into some other framing. Don't you typically support a header with Jack studs? I didn't see anything placed underneath the LVL to support it?
ОтветитьThat was great how John went through step by step the how and why the doors are installed the way they are. The building looks really nice and the big door will make it more functional.
ОтветитьCan you close door manually in case power goes off or motor malfunctions.
ОтветитьThanks Tim.
Did you look at the horizontal Bi-fold option of Door ? Doesn't have to push the Snow away on its way up as the bottom of the door stays in a track. and doesn't stick out so far when open.
👍👍👍
ОтветитьI thought I'd seen everything relating to garage doors. Never say never.
ОтветитьTim, I come by your place once a month when I come down to Indy for my kidney dialysis, your place is looking very good. Keep up the good work, God bless.
Ответить👍
ОтветитьTim sorry I can not come help wire your shop. Just broke my knee literally Saturday.
ОтветитьNicely engineered door Tim. It will provide years of great service. Nice to see the foundational installation of the door.
Ответитьwow! that is a door.
ОтветитьAwesome door! Thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьThat door is awesome.
ОтветитьNext up: Airplane Time with Tim!
ОтветитьWow! I have door envy. I was impressed that it picked you up. Seemed to not notice you were there.
ОтветитьWho died?
ОтветитьI’m looking forward to learning about the foundation of your shop. Will it be bare dirt? Concrete? Gravel? How will the vertical wooden posts that form the walls of the structure be protected from moisture and rot?
ОтветитьHi Tim,
Nice looking door.
I'm used to seeing the horizontal bi-fold style doors in this size range.
The key is that this door will be varmint proof.
Tim, great door!!! John did a fantastic job going through the installation process. I’m surprised it was able to pick you up. Very impressive. It should serve you well for many years. Very enjoyable and exciting process. Thanks
ОтветитьWhat a door, Tim. Fascinating video as well.
ОтветитьWhat a door! Very impressive build and install
ОтветитьCould you run a trunk of the geothermal under the ground in front of the door to melt the snow? (I'm a Floridian, so snow is not in my experiential knowledge base)
ОтветитьSafety harness and glasses!!!!!????
Ответитьpretty cool door
Ответить👍👍
ОтветитьHanger door you trying to be Cleetus?
ОтветитьThat guy Jo was awesome. He is well spoken. If he stays on the job site, you might want to think about buying a defibrillator. Having them on the golf course is mandatory. Men and women working hard in the heat can easily have a cardiac event. I know it saved my father's life.
ОтветитьHangers are for clothes. Hangars are for aircraft.
ОтветитьTim, when you bought the temporary shed for Johnny all those years ago did you see yourself building this?? I still remember that hand powered cultivator that you gushed over. Your attempts to use Johnny to cultivate the corn, and then your first jobs getting into the tight places with some of the new implements. Were those the "Good ole Days"? What would you tell someone who wanted to do the same thing today? I don't think anyone has done it better. God Bless
Ответить😊A big door will make it easier to get in and out.
ОтветитьThis guy needs his own channel
ОтветитьWhat s the reason for such a big door ????
ОтветитьThere is no jack stud underneath that header going to the foundation, 😮. I think there should be two under each side for the span. That header is being held in sheer, not compression.
Other than that, nice door.
Nice door Tim. I have home built numerous like designs for aircraft hangars at the local airport and all the owners just love them. I know you will be pleased with this install. The building is taking shape nicely. Thanks
ОтветитьYES, airplane time with Tim😂 I'm an aviation mechanic, so I can help you once you make the purchase 😅. What are we getting, Tim? 😂 I ❤ aviation.
ОтветитьIm from Maine, and 5 minutes in paused to say thank you for this. most people have no clue how much a door gets beat up.... in Maine most of us don't get too hard of wind but often gusts enough to tear off vynal sideing in places.... over head doors can buckle easyer than you think in a big storm as winds can suck the door inwards often harming things inside. If I lived in a high-wind location, my doors would be reinforced and windows either upgraded or to a minimum. god bless the ones in high wind/hurricane locations
Ответить2.4 HP worth of motor for hydraulic operation, no siding, no insulation, no interior panels...IDK why anyone is surprised it picked Tim up? I'm guessing it could pick up a whole lot more than that 🤔 What's it rated for Tim or John?
Ответитьonly thing that would bother me..... if power goes out..... can you open that door?
ОтветитьYour door is impressive. It was interesting to hear your research and decision process. My heartiest congratulations to you and Christy on your 10th anniversary on You Tube. Well done folks!
ОтветитьNice having 2 different style doors. You'll for sure like having the regular style garage door for the speed in the winter when you have to quickly take the tractor out to push snow without loosing all your shop heat.
ОтветитьTim did you share how much budget for this project? I am curious because it looks like another campus for Tractor Tim,!
ОтветитьNice door and it will help keep rain out when opened… i have slider doors because they’re cheapest and budget was tight. They work fine but having to close them when it rains is an issue since it gets hit with no wind blowing thru the shop.
ОтветитьHe needs to drop a few lbs. ok, a few more.
ОтветитьThis was a fun (hot) door install. Thanks so much Tim. Thank you all for watching.
