AMAZING! :D please more info on how u build ur bike :D
ОтветитьReally like this anti-BMS rant X-D it's fun!
Ответитьu really should put link to ur eBike shop in the videos description text :D
ОтветитьBMS must surely stand for battery murdering system. They will cause all kinds of trouble!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьSo if I have a 16s 7p battery, how can I balance charge it using a hobby charger? Or how many cells are needed to be split in this battery pack?
ОтветитьI agree that circuitry can go too far here and there. It's quite common to lose the battery power thing and maybe the device with computers/phones as well. A Psion Revo (AAA size - hard to repair) was my first experience and a Thinkpad recently where the 6 - 18650 batteries are fine. There is no "replacement" for a specific IC circuit they used. It's short lived to find an original part mostly.
ОтветитьIs an inexpensive cell monitor (cell auger) similar to the one featured in the video available today? Very informative video. Thank you
ОтветитьI just spent a couple hours arguing with a mob about this. They started frothing at the mouth.
ОтветитьI'm happy I ran across this. I was looking at new drill batteries, and wondered if harbor freight's battery chargers had the bms, instead of the batteries based on the amount of connections on the charger. It would make the batteries cheaper too.
ОтветитьHi, I need bms for home power bank battery 18650 5 kw
Ответитьwow, thanks just bought a new battery for my electric bike because of the BMS broke.. says the battery repair center, and they arent for sale they said.. found a alixpress site for diffent BMS's but I wont put another BATTERY MURDER PACK if you cant charge and keep your Battery's in better healt your way.. (it's a shame everything costs money) i'm broke since i bought the new battery, and want to revive the old one.. dont have a hobby charger yet.. from battery style airplanes,
okay thanks, you have made a very good informative Video, that could reduce the trow-away society.
really thinking about some learning in electrical now. thanks you made some doors open.😄
Excellent video/explanation !!
I was also getting frustrated by the poor performance of these small BMS boards and came up with a solution that uses same pieces of your approach.
Still keeping the BMS, a put 2 JST connectors the the battery case where I can check once in a while the state of the battery and if needed rebalance with a balance charger.
Disadvantage is that I have to dismount the battery case for that.
And I still have to see if I can lower the voltage of the main charger.
Did you find any real JST sockets or did you use the standard PCB versions glued into a corresponding hole, like I did?
ive been looking for you to say thanks! my bike has always run without a bms due to you!! i find the cheapest of chargers work the best. able to hook in anywhere and charge any number of cells . they could care less about surrounding cells and will charge and level any spot
Ответитьi can tell when the bikes dying and use no volt meters.. cell loggers.. . just a klein tools volt meter at home to check cells every charge
ОтветитьQuestion? Didn’t you have a video up that had to do with UCC1 and why not to file it? I’ve looked everywhere for it. Plus I’m taking the BMS off an e bike battery. So this video was a big help.
ОтветитьThank you for making this video, there is a lot of conflicting information out here. I have a first generation fiido T-1 and it's replacement less battery. I put battery in replacement and immediately noticed battery discharged faster so I ordered a 48v
advanced 300w Luna charger w/ 80 90 100 % settings charging to 54.6v @ 100% now 13 mo. old full is + or - 52v it varies each time. Now I understand why, unbalanced. Bike was shipped to me without user manual or the download. Took 4 months to learn full charging shortens battery life. Guido recommends full charge after EVERY ride.
excellent video big companies won't like it. Can't find the hobby i charger on ebay uk. Any ideas cheer richie
Ответить"iCharger 206B no longer available to purchase" say the vendors.
ОтветитьI removed my BMS completely and just run my ebike like it is! I've had zero problems! I don't use a hobby charger...but I charge it like I would any other battery and I run it like I would any other battery! Should I be worried about anything?
ОтветитьWhere to buy those Cell loggers ?
I dont think we have them in germany or ebay....
Does this still apply to today’s cells? I have two 52v 20ah in parallel with a 80a controller 3000w hub. Will it blow? So, should I bypass bms? You explained this bms thing perfectly, thanks
ОтветитьHow do I connect a 72 volt battery? Are Daly BMS any better?
ОтветитьHave any specific hobby charger ideas?
ОтветитьIt’s says made in USA which it 560 dollars 😅
ОтветитьHello sir thank you so much for sharing with everyone can you send us the link to get that instrument panel please I can't find it anywhere , it will work perfect on my li-poly 96v biuld
ОтветитьMany thanks you saved me from a costly mistake.
ОтветитьHi, do you know a better battery voltage alarm than these cheap ones? They all show like 3.7v on one cell and 4.15 on another, and the other cells in between that, on 8s packs that have all the cells at 3.8v measured with a volt meter. So I've found this so called Cell-Log 8M Cell Voltage Monitor (2S-8S) that all say it's very accurate, but it seems it was discontinued in 2018..and can't find it anywhere. Do you know other voltage alarms? Or the market is really dead at this chapter..
ОтветитьI can't say for certain, but I seem to remember some BMS units that have Bluetooth and/or WiFi commo that can do what the "loggers" do, and send the real-time data to your smartphone as you ride. They also had an alarm feature in their "app" that provided both audible and visual cues from the phone to the rider.
...and here I am talking about using an "app" when I have always warned about relying on any tech that REQUIRES an "app" to work for you...the fact there is no guaranty the "app" will be around next week and could be unilaterally removed from your phone at any moment without warning (company goes out of business, stops supporting it, to continue working it requires you replace your phone with one that has a newer version of Android/iOS, etc).
After dealing with a failing battery pack due to poor management by the BMS and then a glitching BMS on my new battery pack, I'm now starting to think this is the way forward.
Fortunately I bought a Chargery 1500W battery charger which has the option for a 24S balance charger add-on so I'm on my way to having a more reliable e-bike experience.
Just use 12v lamps and diodes
ОтветитьI don't think it is a good idea to use absolutely no BMS functionality. At least a watch dog service should run checking battery voltages. You can cut daily balancing for most applications.
Ответитьyep mate that is the truth
ОтветитьLove the video and the method. Understanding I think leads to safety. I do worry about Lithium Ion fires. So using a hobby charger with no BMS, do you measure temperature or even have thermal cutout switches to kill the charging power?
Ответитьdanke, i am in process to remove my bms...your video showed me how, so many thanks, i have looked
at the icharger 206...the info i was looking for is whether this will support LiFePo4 cells...
thank god do we now have SMART BMS ^^ i only use these now.... on big 20s pack it is a nobrainer
ОтветитьYou didn't have to cut the nickel strip
ОтветитьI thought the bms was really to prevent battery from getting too hot and catching fire?
ОтветитьI learned a lot in this video. Thank you so much. Very well done. Ron
ОтветитьGreat guy. I like the vibe :D
ОтветитьWhat is a cell lager I bought some lipo alarms is that the same
ОтветитьWhat voltage are we talking about? I have an 84v 50Ah battery in mind. So far I'm not sure there's a hobby charger that can accommodate this
ОтветитьI still use (2) 6s lipo packs and battery alarms for my recumbent scooter and (2) B6 chargers. So far ... two years and no problems.
ОтветитьThanks for making this informative video
ОтветитьA hobby charger is a bms
ОтветитьI am splitting a 52v 21 ah battery to
two 7s batteries. But not sure of the
wiring. Sure could use description
or complete diagram. Using a icharger x8. Not the duo
Hello, Shawn. I
I have a iCharger x8. Want to set up its charging
capabilities. The pins start with negative on the left. ( 10 pins ) . In your video you don't say exactly
how many positive wires connect. On this 52v 21ah battery of mine, all the wires are hooked negative.
I observed your positive wires and the next 3 positives. But I can't determine the exact cadence
of positives and negatives of your battery when I have 12 batteries to a cell. And your spot soldering
starts between the actual top of the batteries. I don't have a cell logger . Hooking up right to the charger. Oh , empire of squat-ness, I need advice
Could send you my phone number.
I just want to get this bike on the road
wow a lot hasnt changed in 10 years
ОтветитьThats right those bms are garbage..burn up you're batterys sovyou gotta buy more and more and more..im with ya hundred percent
Ответить
