Communication is different for everyone. My son is nonspeaking and uses an IPad with a speaking app to communicate. We call it his talker.

He has been using it since he was 4 but it wasn’t until a few years ago that he started using it all the time. He now uses it in the car. I can have conversations with my son.

It may not seem like a conversation to most people but my son is talking to me. Please don’t give up on communication it can come in so many ways.
