Every semester, I skim each class' syllabus for important dates and put them on my calendar. That way, I know by day 3 which weekends I can hang out with buddies and which ones I am spending in the library. Also stay like 2 minutes after each class and introduce yourself to the professor. This can lead to a friendship, a research opportunity, or brownie points when you are begging for a grade change ;)

college is scary sometimes and it won’t always be what you think! but know everyone is in the same position as you!

I feel colleges are so different in every country !!

For example in india -

• My college does't allow usage of phones in classrooms or Auditorium etc

You can only use phone in thr canteen or college gardens / fields.

• 80% attendence
If u are absent even one day, then you need to write a letter and get it signed & stamped by the office & then signed by all you Professor's classes you missed & then again submit it to the principal.

• You cannot choose your professors or timings.
The college provides your time table /schedule & which professors u have.

• You cannot drop classes when u want.

You only have 5 days to change your minor & IDC subjects.

•And doing 2 minors with your Major is Compulsory & also 3 Indisciplinary subjects & 2 compulsory AEC subjects are compulsory.

• we also have to learn a foreign language.

• we don't have any college parties as such.

•We have just one freshers party for 1st year students which is arranged by seniors and Teachers.

• we must take permission to go anywhere, even if it is to go to the washroom.

• We also couldn't leave college whenever we wanted.
We must stay and do ALL classes from 8:30 am to 2:45 pm..
After 2:45 pm we have our societies/ club activities.

• Even though my college didn't have uniform...
Girls are not allowed to wear very revealing clothes.

But in many colleges uniform is compulsory..
And in some colleges there are no uniforms but indian clothing is compulsory..

• My college also makes us sign that they are allowed to not let us continue our course if it's below a certain percentage ( if your aggregate is 45% & below) because it hurts their academic prestige & Reputation amongst other colleges.

• our hostels are time restricted so we have curfew at 5pm / 6pm..

Some are 8pm.

For boys hostels it's usually later till 10 pm..

Current highschool sophomore very excited for college and your videos are absolutely amazing and get me even more excited. Your videos are now part of my daily routine 😂. I really want to get into UF or UT wish me luck ❤
