Hi Kara, I would like to run a BUY 2 get 1 free sale in my shop. Unsure how to change shipping for each additional item. My shop, by the way, does offer free shipping.

My shop is having a promotion...a grand re-opening with 3 free gifts. I also offer fast free shipping on orders over $35. I put this info in the beginning of the description. Was that a mistake?

SEO search engine optimization doesn't even matter. Here's the actual truth. ETSY HIDES PAID LISTINGS they are charging Etsy sellers to show to the buyers. Don't be surprised if Etsy gets gets hit with a multibillion-dollar class-action lawsuit sometime in the future. Lots of people on social media are spreading the word about their items not showing up in Etsy's search engine, even though Etsy is charging them fees to list their items. Besides the search engine, some Etsy sellers can't even find their own items when they searched through their own Etsy storefront. Etsy treats sellers horribly and are incredibly arrogant and incompetent, in my opinion and in the eyes of many others. Etsy thinks it's invincible and too-big-to-fail. Lots of huge companies that are now out of business once thought that.

Do you have a direct contact from Etsy. I am trying to contact them to change my email. I tried many times to contact them, you always go in circles. For me to cancel the infamous account, they ask the old email that does not exist anymore. It seems to me Etsy does everything to prevent you to cancel the account. The keep charging every month. I am throwing money every month. I think I will have to call the Customers Affairs to intervene. I feel scammed. This is outreageous.

I just got out of the Etsy forum after asking a question and I think I'm going to just stick with coming to your videos to learn how to make my shop better. Rather than answer my question the first person who responded said they checked out my shop and I really needed to learn how to do my titles and descriptions and then a second message from same person that I could get people to do that for free in the forum. Oh my. Self confidence now in the dumper because I thought I was learning and getting better - but apparently not. Sigh. I've decided I'm going to focus in 2023 on better photos, titles that are going to probably be boring but specfic to what I'm selling, plain old keywords that are specific to what I think someone might actually use when trying to find whatever it is I'm selling, and descriptions that I'll front load with the most important details and then unleash at least a little creativity in telling people at the end of the description something I think is especially fun about whatever I'm selling. I'm never going to make a bunch of money at this - but I think if I keep at it, keep watching your videos and reading the comments, keep reading what Marmalead sends me for free, and maybe eventually have someone take a look and give me some credible feedback, maybe things will improve. They are already better by miniscule numbers than they were at the beginning of 2022. All that to just say again - as loudly as I can - that you are incredibly generous and wise about tackling this monstrous Etsy environment and I'm very grateful. You never snark about individuals and you never call a question dumb or roll your eyes - which I'm sure is hard sometimes given how weird we all are. Thank you and Happy New Year!

I recently noticed the app does not show the sizing information. So photos and descriptions need to include this information. I did a tiktok video explaining this. I searched for my shop on my phone and I got a strange result. At the very top were two ads; one for a t-shirt and one for an annual bookkeeping spreadsheet. Then my listings started. The only thing I could figure out was that these two items were paid ads from different shops; I no longer have paid ads. But they didn’t relate to my shop, other than the t-shirt had the word “aunt” in it which is also in my shop name. Do you find this strange, or is this normal?

Hi Kara, I follow your videos for a while now and they have been always useful to me. My shop is almost 3 months old, buy I did not have any sell yet. I do sell my own photography so in my case I can't expect any particular booom. I start to treat my Etsy shop right now more like extension of my photographic business I do anyway, like personal websites in a way. When I started 3 months ago I did some publicity on social media but than after few 'eye opening' videos I decided to do things more organically and as base for my new strategy became putting more attention to SEO, customer experience and of course putting every day new listing in my store, but no more social media 'help'. My traffic is not huge, its around 7=8 visits daily right now, but looking on monthly statistics its like 50% grow every month, without any social media at all. Do you think that from new year some social media help would do some good to my traffic and potential sells or is better to stick to my pure organic strategy? Whats your opinion on that especially in relations with new Etsy updates for new 2023?

Are you familiar with Etsy "re-listing" fee? Did you know that "everytime" you sell a single quantity, you are also charged a 0.20cents "re-listing" fee? For example, if you have qty 999, and sell 1 item, and you are left with 998, you are STILL being charged a 0.20cents of "re-listing" fee even though you have 998 at hand? Why are they charging "re-listing" fee, when nothing is been "re-listed?" What do you think about this practice? I want to see what other sellers think...
