I own VTX3D Radeon 7870 (Tahiti Chip) and I experience some performance problems in Battlefield 4 and Dragon Age Inquisition. These games not only stutter worse with Mantle but also the AMD API lowers the performance and making them look even uglier. I'm using the latest AMD drivers and DirectX. I know this card has a weak cooler but it isn't overheating so far (max 78 degrees in stress) so what can be the problem ?

Trying to figure how to enable Mantle API on BF4 because it's not showing in my game.

I don't think i'm able to use mantle because my card is a GeForce GT 630.

i use mantle with an FX-8350 @ stock speed and an MSI R9-290X @ stock and got well over 100fps in sniper elite 3 :D ima try it without mantle enable and see what difference is, if any

I have a 290x paired with an i54460 in Dragon Age Inquisition mantle gives me like a 30% increase in frames with all settings maxed out besides besides MSAA which is off.

How did it compare to dx12?

Mantle doesn't work with me. Is it just me? I'm trying on battlefield 4, my gpu is a msi r9 270x and my cpu is a g3258. Os: Windows 8.1 Pro.
Already searched for a fix but nothing worked.
When I activate Mantle, I have to restart the game and then when I try to enter a multiplayer game it just keeps loading till it freezes.

Just tested with my fx 8320 @ 4.1Ghz and r9 380 4GB on Siege of Shanghai. Lowest value on 1080p @ High with DX11 was 40 and highest 120ish. With Mantle lowest fps 60 and highest 120ish. Mantle works like a charm for me.

You should do an update on this technology. I have the GTX 980 TI and the R9 390X. Under black ops 3 with ultra settings i had frames dropping like crazy, it was extremely choppy. So i decided to test the R9 390X with freesync and it's been extremely fluid with the same settings used on the GTX 980 TI. So a card R9 390X that is almost half the value of the GTX 980 TI performs better and i can't figure out why.

The problem with your testing methodology is that your processor isn't experiencing much if any of a bottleneck already under DX11. If you were using an AMD CPU the difference is much bigger

Fuck Nvidia only AMD should use it, since Nvidia want to be greedy assholes to AMD by only allowing only Nvidia technology and probably secretly getting games optimized better for there cards. Bribing probably.

Thanks for the video man, i've noticed very good fps differences on my r9 280x dual x oc edition + amd fx 6300 cpu, both on tested in the Dragon Age Inquisition game, on directx and mantle. mantle won . i love what they did with mantle and i m hoping to better improvements on the driver side

Lol I still have the hd6770 in crossfire mode along with amd phenom x4 955 @ 3.2ghz with 8gb ddr3 and a 700watt...I wanted to know if I can run battlefield 4 a decent fps with the r7 250x in crossfire?

I know this is old but Mantle was a godsend for FX processors. Doom 2016 which uses Vulkan, with a mild oc'd FX6300, you could easily drive 120fps 1080P with an R9 Fury. In openGL you would see frame drops into the 40-50s. With Vulkan those minimums more than doubled.

Mantle gave me smooth 60 fps on q6600 @3GHz on 64 player servers in compare to huge stutter on DX11.

DirectX still relevant in 2021

RIP Mantle. You stumbled and face-planted in Battlefield 4 and Dragon Age Inquisition so that Vulkan could run really, really fast in Doom 2016.
