Shelagh and Brenda sang together at local folk clubs and concerts in their native Reading for a couple of years before turning professional since when they have appeared in cabaret at some of the top establishments in their country. The songs on this recording by Prelude range from the more recent popular folk songs to the more traditional airs and a few originals composed by Shelagh Bennett.
Prelude are brilliantly accompanied both vocally and instrumentally by John D. Read (who incidentally wrote two of the songs on this album).
Chris Keevill and Peter Howard all well known on the folk scene.
