She's great--she's beautiful--but that "Hollywood Hippie" outfit is laughable
Ответитьlove u
ОтветитьTE AMO
ОтветитьDel Shannon produced them!
ОтветитьI used to ice skate to this at Rainbow Ice Rink on Clark St. in Chicago, across from St
Boniface Cemetery. The management would turn down the lights and gear up the sparkle ball.
She sounds like that they lead singer on heart. She is so talented beautiful voice beautiful person
ОтветитьGreat voice
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьThe Shirelles and The Beatles version of this song just great . But I thought my man would love this version has it is blues and country influenced . He loves that kind of thing.
ОтветитьThe raw emotion of her voice is magnificent.
ОтветитьLuv it. Memories!!!
ОтветитьThe best version and still great today!
ОтветитьGreat voice, looks a little stoned. That's ok, rock on and should have never stopped singing.
ОтветитьOMG, I'm old, and I grew up hearing this, and I always thought she was black !!! She good though !!!
ОтветитьSuperb ….
ОтветитьI always thought that the singer was a black woman
ОтветитьProduced by Del Shannon.
ОтветитьGayle and Bonnie Bramlett
;)
True Vocal Powerhouses
I have the 1964 Beatles record of this song, but her version beats The Beatles version....as a Beatles fan,,,,I have her record.....she sings it better than Paul.
ОтветитьAnd the song was in top on the early 70s as l heard it time after time boy was it great in the day Gail rocked us man smith the band that made our day slickrick midway ga woooooooooo
ОтветитьOne of my all time favorites!!👩👄
ОтветитьThree-pick-up telecaster, nice.
ОтветитьThe singer reminds me of my true love Chloé 'Eira' Davis from Barry in Wales, but what can anybody do - believe it or not, she gave me up, mainly because I'm too poor and she got more important to do, e. g. taking cocane without me.
It's fine, all good.
Phenomenal performance. So much raw talent, it still makes me sad that she and they weren't bigger. Should've been.
ОтветитьI remember back when listening to that song going WOW
ОтветитьThe legendary Leslie Uggams introduced them on her show
ОтветитьI was telling somebody this was an older song and they didn't believe me and I showed him I just can't believe this woman did not become a Grace slick or Janis Joplin she has the best voice I've ever heard I wish I know what happened something bad must have happened because she is just to good not to be having other popular songs and being around for quite a while I'd like to know the story God bless you Gail from Indiana USA you rock
ОтветитьI loved this band!!@💖💝💕💓 Sorry to hear about ibcredibly talented Gayle RIP ,🙏💔🕯
ОтветитьLose that band and headband and she's got.drop dead gorgeous too
ОтветитьGayle McCormick would’ve sounded better if she had bigger boobs 🤪
ОтветитьWhat I heard this song and many others back in the sixties and seventies I knew I was a the hippie
ОтветитьThe last of the Mohicans
ОтветитьR.I.P. GAYLE
ОтветитьA GROUP CALLED SMITHS is a helluva name for a group
ОтветитьSo when I saw her when I was 12 years old 1969 I said I going to marry me a girl like that
ОтветитьI remember seeing this when I was 12 years old 1969 the girl was wearing the head bandana and singing this song and I remember I set up that's pretty cool man
ОтветитьNot many people can say, "We covered the same song as The Beatles, and we did it better." These guys can.
ОтветитьThe Summer of '69, I listened to this song over and over ,,,,,, seemed it was always on the radio on the way home after work. I lived in Cincinnati at the time! Wow! Those were the days .... 18 was such a young age!
ОтветитьWhat an incredible, overlooked and underrated masterpiece
ОтветитьA very nice cover for Smith. The organ is great. This was my senior year in HS. I heard it from my radio driving to and from school. Nice memories! A lost 45!
Ответить😎👌
ОтветитьI remember when I was 12 years old when I saw this girl on TV black and white TV with my mother in the living room and have her have a crush on her it was the sixties man I was 12 years old I was in love with this hippie
ОтветитьI gotta know! Is that Leslie Uggams on MC?
ОтветитьFinally! Been looking for this one!!❤
ОтветитьGotta thank Tarantino for introducing me to this classic featured in Death Proof.
ОтветитьIn the fall of 69, Smith covered this old song and covered it well.I was a senior in HS and heard it while painting my parents house on weekends. I loved this arrangement as the girl did a knock up job The rest of Smith were good musicians!
ОтветитьGayle McCormick was a powerful singer with a beautifu voice. The Smith band was as good por better as any other rock band. Gayle is my favorite singer
ОтветитьNot a meme performance as far as I can tell. Kudos.
ОтветитьIt looks like the guitar players used Telecasters. Back then, bands had two guitar players!
ОтветитьAlthough it was recorded by others, this version was by far the best. From the crisp fall of 69, we got this from Smith. The organ was great. The girl was beautiful but they had just this one hit. It brings me right back to my senior year of that fall. Only a song can do that!
