I have the 1964 Beatles record of this song, but her version beats The Beatles version....as a Beatles fan,,,,I have her record.....she sings it better than Paul.

The Summer of '69, I listened to this song over and over ,,,,,, seemed it was always on the radio on the way home after work. I lived in Cincinnati at the time! Wow! Those were the days .... 18 was such a young age!

In the fall of 69, Smith covered this old song and covered it well.I was a senior in HS and heard it while painting my parents house on weekends. I loved this arrangement as the girl did a knock up job The rest of Smith were good musicians!

Gayle McCormick was a powerful singer with a beautifu voice. The Smith band was as good por better as any other rock band. Gayle is my favorite singer

Although it was recorded by others, this version was by far the best. From the crisp fall of 69, we got this from Smith. The organ was great. The girl was beautiful but they had just this one hit. It brings me right back to my senior year of that fall. Only a song can do that!
