I’ve heard people say dry effects, amp, then wet effects?
ОтветитьI play a ukulele. Should I go Ukulele > Reverb Pedal > Pre-Amp Pedal? Thanks
Ответитьso you need two of the same buffers? placed and the end and the beginning?
ОтветитьShow of hands, who's rockin an input buffer?
ОтветитьDoes volume from the pedal before affect the next pedal?
ОтветитьWhat is an example of a buffer?
ОтветитьCompression sustainer before or after Envelope filter?
ОтветитьWhat’s a good input buffer to get? Output? Is my DI Box acting like an output buffer???
ОтветитьWhat if you have a volume/wah? Also, where would you suggest a loop pedal to go?
ОтветитьLoop??
ОтветитьGreat info ! Thx a lot
ОтветитьAnd where does my tuner go ? I assume first😅
ОтветитьWhere would you put a noise gate in this chain?
ОтветитьCould you repeat one more time please? Think I didn't quite get it the first four times...
Ответитьolala 😆nice guides!
ОтветитьBest explanation or one of the best I’ve seen
Ответитьno buffers i go 12 max before i blow something
redneckshit
I have a question: I have some effects that don't really fit in your chain arrangement and I would like to get your input on where they might go in the chain.
First, I have BOSS guitar synthesizer. Where would a guitar synth go in the chain? I also have a small synth pedal as well.
Second, I have a BOSS GT100 effects processor. I'm interested in using that in addition to my pedalboard. Would an effects processor go before the pedalboard or after? And also, what do you think of this idea?
Thank you for making this video. It has been very helpful.
ОтветитьGreat video. I took many notes and will try out some of the recommendations. However, what I was missing: there is nothing being said whether some pedals are usually put in front of an FX Loop of an Amp or after the preAmp of an Amp.
ОтветитьSo many repetitions. This should have been much shorter.
ОтветитьVery cool video! 2 questions: if I have a buffered tunner (politune 3), would you advice to place it before or after the wah? And: where would you put a noise gate?
ОтветитьRight awesome video but question 3 years later, can I put a Digitech Drop before my EHX Big Muff Fuzz ? Wouldnt be any help if I couldnt..
ОтветитьI set my peddle board up totally backwards from this video, but it sounds great!
My setup order:
Tunner
Compressor
Distortion
Chorus
Harmonizer
Delay
Equalizer
Looper
🤘🎸
Does this concept apply also on bass?
ОтветитьWhere would you put a preamp? Would you put after overdrive or at the start?
ОтветитьYou talk to much😂😂😂😂
Ответитьso does a tuner go after everything or before?
ОтветитьMason - I am going a little crazy with my current pedalboard build, and having challenges with how I would like to run it with the particular pedals I have at my disposal.
The amp I am using is a 34-year old Marshall Artist 3203 30-watt head into a GK212 cabinet. The amp has a Normal channel and a Boost channel.
This rig is being built for an original punk project with some high gain and mid to heavy crunch, with the need to have a high gain lead tone and a lower gain lead tone.
I am not sure if I should run all the pedals through the Normal channel and reserve the Boost channel for the higher gain soloing only, or use both channels with a combination of pedals for each one as Rhythm channels with a pedal for boosting solos.
The main guitar (a Paul Gilbert Fireman with mini buckers) runs into the following Pedals in the chain:
TC Electronics Polytune 3 set to a buffered bypass into an ISP Deci-Mate G noise gate with a built in loop - send goes into a Keeley mini compressor into a JHS Prestige (was told to put it there because of the buffer > Friedman Small Box > Petty John Chime > mini Tube Screamer > return of the Deci-Mate G > out to an MXR 6-band EQ > out to front of Marshall.
I also have an effects loop in the amp that I send into a Wampler Ethereal Delay/Reverb > and return from a TC Electronics Hall of Fame.
After listening to your placement video post, I am wondering if I should put the JHS Prestige at the end of the chain, after the EQ, and set it as a boost for both channels when needed.
Ultimately, I would like:
1) a high gain rhythm tone w/ a solo boost
2) a mid-gain crunch rhythm w/ a solo boost
3) the option to have a clean sound with a little breakup
Maybe I have too much going on?
Would love some help on pedal order with this particular group of devices and advice on how to best use them in relation to this amp.
New subscriber and THANK YOU!
FYI - I still have your original Vertex T-Drive! I’ve never been able to use it anywhere, but boy do I love it!
Very interesting I've never put buffers in my signal chain before. I'll have to do some research on buffers I've
de id in mixing desks? I've used allowed speaker as a microphone in the past, but I've never used buffers but I will do some research on this. I can see an advantage. Also you mentioned volume pedals now then some people get very confused with volume pedals. Do they use buffered or do they use high or low impedance? I'm okay on this one thanks again for the video and I'll be back for more. It's like being at home back in the studio Again.
It’s cool to see how many recent comments this video has. A lot of players are out there working on their boards right now, like me. Hello world!
ОтветитьWhat about a looper? Nice presentation.
ОтветитьNow how does one utilize the amp settings to maximize the pedal setup...lol....but seriously, how?
Ответитьhi, I'm writing from Italy, my latest pedal is a reverb connected in stereo, how do I connect the buffer out? is just a mono output of the pedal enough?
Ответитьi have a marshall dsl20 and i like the distortion the amp creates do i have to run all my other pedals through the effects loop on my amp chorus, phaser, delay and eq or can they be run in the front of the amp??
ОтветитьThanks a lot for good advice. But what to do with stereo pedals ? Two out put buffers ?
ОтветитьSolid advice, I know this video is 3 years old and I've looked through the Vertex videos. So my question is, did you guys ever do the Effects Pedal Order Using The Effects Loop video?
ОтветитьGreat video! I started with 10 questions before the video. Now I have 100 questions. Cant win. 😂
ОтветитьWhat if you got a high gain tube amp and don't need a distortion pedal
ОтветитьGreat video but what about the tuner? Noise Gate? Pre-amp like Tech 21 Sans Amp or Alpha-Omega? Pitch Shifter? Do all Fuzz pedals go so early as you suggested or can you put them after overdrive and distortion?
ОтветитьWhere would you recommend a pitch shifter? (Example: The Digitech Drop D Pedal)?
ОтветитьQuestion: I have a ISP Technologies Hum Extractor + Decimator G pedal (4 cable method using amp Fx loop) and a Mesa Boogie High-Wire Dual Buffer with boost (it has 4 cable capability, Out, In, RTN, SND), what order do I hook this up into my VOX AC30? I have about 20 pedals including those two.
ОтветитьThere's no right or wrong, do/ do not do.... if it sounds the way you want it to sound, then rock on with your bad self
Ответитьif your amp has it, i would definitely put all delay, reverb and modulation pedals in the FX loop, freeing space for other pedals such as tuners, wahs, line enhancers and noise gates.
ОтветитьCould you do a video on an effects chain recommendation do's/don't's for a fender Rhodes. It is such a classic use case, but it seems different than guitar. THANKS!
ОтветитьCan my tuner pedal go before my blue fuzz face? Or does it have to go after the fuzz face?
ОтветитьWay over complicated!
ОтветитьI saw a tuner/buffer on Reverb. Would this be good to start the pedal lineup?
Ответить
