Excellent video! Made everything simple and focused on safety. Thank you!
ОтветитьIs there a torque-spec for the spool set-screws ? And, is there a torque-spec for the spring set-screws ?
ОтветитьYou are a true instructor. Loved the way you are explaining to us. Like to meet you when you are in northern Virginia. 👌
ОтветитьI used this video to learn how to order and to order the exact springs I needed. I also used your steps to remove and replace the springs. This absolutely saved me hundreds of dollars. Thank you so much
Ответить45 mins….
ОтветитьI can't believe all that spring tension is held with set screws that don't even go into the bar. How on earth does it hold?!
ОтветитьThanks!
Ответитьwhat an outstanding video! Thank you so much! What a nice contribution to the DYI homeowners.

ОтветитьFocus the camera!! 🤪
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьThank you so much for the well inform video and specially to the camera man
ОтветитьPLEASE take that damn ring off and find you a pair of gloves.. Obviously you do not work on things for a living.. Good instructional video.. Tons of mistakes, but atleast you accomplished the task
ОтветитьIsn't it one full turn per foot of hight of door? That would be 28 quarter turns not 34.
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video. I was quoted 1500 to do my door which was the same spec as this video. Did it for roughly 90. Two small hiccups, totally my fault. 1) My springs included new metal bearings which I correctly included but forgot to remove the original plastic bushing. Fixed by cutting it out while all still assembled. 2) The bad one. I finished the entire install and when doing the first pull up/down test the cable on the left came off of the drum. So I had to completely untension everything and start over. I believe this was due to the cable not being fully seated inside the slot of the drum. All done now and relieved that it is done. THANKS AGAIN for the great comprehensive instructions.
ОтветитьMy 24 yr old and 15 yr old sons watched your video and replaced my 2 broken garage door springs from watching your video...thank you for teaching them carefully and thoroughly how to do this safely..they are extremely proud of themselves and I am proud of them too..thank you!!
ОтветитьStart at 24 minutes to skip the bs.
ОтветитьThanks for nice and detailed explanation
ОтветитьI have decided you have to be a rocket scientist to do this so I'm not going to do it myself. However, I saw enough of this to know what to watch out for when somebody's installing the springs. Thank you for the information.
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьThanks so much, followed it step by step, garage door is working great, I have all of my extremities in tact and no injuries - saved a ton of money!
ОтветитьI have a safety question. My torsion spring failed yesterday. I have the new springs, but the temperature is 10degrees here. Is it safe to install springs when they are that cold?
ОтветитьAwesome instruction. Thanks a bunch!
ОтветитьI don't know if you're going to get this comment but man you saved me a bunch of money. Thank you
ОтветитьAnother successful replacement thanks to your video! The company you link to (DDM Garage Doors) had a sale on the exact spec springs I needed, and I received shipment within 2 1/2 days of order. $65 all in!
ОтветитьThank you so much! Job complete, and injury free!
ОтветитьOn mine they had installed the wrong spring to begin with, so using the label on the old splring was no help
ОтветитьOutstanding tutorial! Thanks so much!
ОтветитьThank u! Just did mine thanks to your video. Ordered springs a few days ago and was procrastinating on it but did it today. After 25th turn..u start to get fatigued but I just did 32 on each side and it was perfect. 18foot aluminum door with chamberlain belt driven opener
Ответитьthanks man! saving me a ton o money i didn't have to pay someone else.
ОтветитьI replaced my springs yesterday using this video. Probably the best how to video I've ever watched. Thank you so much!!
ОтветитьThanks, I will replace my garage door springs this Saturday thank to you.
ОтветитьAwesome video from a fellow Utah brother....
ОтветитьI only had to replace cables on each side of door. This video was INCREDIBLY helpful with tips, tricks, and safety precautions. Took only 30 mins for intermediate DIYer
ОтветитьGreat video!! You did a great job of laying things out perfectly! Works like a charm!
ОтветитьGreat presentation. Glad you kept mentioning the safety aspects.
ОтветитьThe time you spend researching, ordering and maybe finding the correct springs, you can pay a professional, go make your money doing what you normally do
and keep yourself out of the hospital.
I got hit by a scambag from Toronto with the name of IGGY. $1500 just to replace a spring
ОтветитьThank you from Tooele! I was able to use the website you recommended and your video and just successfully got my garage done even went from a single to a double.
ОтветитьThank you for the detailed and clear instructions, used this video to help disassemble a 16x7 garage door 🫡
ОтветитьYea I got the luck of a 6 ft garage door. And we cant park in our garage but i use the door and the spring snapped. Thanks for the video Ill let ya know if i can adapt it to my freak garage door. Came with the house. With one spring on the right side but no spring on left. I guess its a single spring torsion something.
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks !
Where did the garage door insulation come from ? Kit ? Cut from board size material ?
Thanks again
Taller ladder is very recommended. Your head should be above the danger.
ОтветитьInformation is good but too much information is redundant.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьThank you so much for a very informative video. I was able to safely remove, install, and adjust new springs thanks to your video. Well done!
ОтветитьThanks to your detailed, clear, instructions, I just replaced both springs on my double garage door. Must add, the replacement springs, as per your lead, are very reasonably priced, come with two tension rods + safety goggles ! And all that for $44.00 plus FedEx shipping ! Unbelievable deal ! Thank you and thank you again !
