Ozempic: Weight loss Miracle or Mirage - Jillian Michaels VS Dr. Nadolsky

This was a tough “interview” to listen to. Beginning a conversation with the words “hashing it out” isn’t super inviting to guests or listeners.
2 guests and a host that are almost immediately defensive and talking over one another isn’t really going to make for a great interview.

Seemed like a cordial argument and a debate rather than a listening, understanding, and learning opportunity.

She appears to have 0% self awareness. Her customers are ones who have literally sought out one of Americas top 5 personal fitness personalities and are still only are achieving 30% success rate. She doesn’t seem to realize the fact that if Jillian Michaels is your personal trainer, you are either filthy rich, or have more self motivation than 99.9999% of America. Probably both. Even still, she is only having 30% success rate for a group of America’s most motivated people. She incorrectly is trying to apply what works for the exception as a rule for the masses. The over whelming number of Americans can’t keep a New Year’s resolution beyond quiter’s Friday and yet she seems to think she can get people to make lifelong changes. It’s naive and disappointing.

I am on Tirzepatide on a low dose. There is more than weightloss that comes with these, me personally my chronic pain and brain fog is gone!! I exercised and ate healthy BEFORE and my body would not budge and there was NEVER relief in my pain. I will continue to use this medication for the relief my pain and inflammation alone. Its definitely not white and black.

I love ya Jillian and have been a fan for years. Please consider letting people complete their statements before you interrupt them. Listen to learn, rather than listening to respond or be right.

These meds are so new and have almost instant gratification, but what are the long term effects? There is not enough research and studies or years of use to give any identification of harmful effects or no harmful effects. I have heard of some people experiencing stomach paralysis. What we need to know is the long term consequences. Kudos to those who are able to lose and feel good, but check back on that 5-10
Years from now, what could occur with use of these drugs? Remember Big Pharma is making a killing off these meds. If they were really concerned with the Obesity epidemic, wouldn’t they make these meds more affordable and more available?

I was on a GLP1 medication. I did lose weight, but it made me very sick and when I went off the medication, it all came back. Healthy diet and exercise are the way to go. I am so excited to see RFKJ confirmed!!!

I love Jillian , that’s why I listen to her , but she constantly talks over her guest .

I don't make money off of this medication.... oh wait, I do but it's not the same. Then the other guy deflects with the issue is the dysfunction of our healthcare. 🤣That's when I tuned out. Basically we are telling the overweight that they now have a disease, that they can do nothing about without medication. For the vast majority, that is not true. Where was this disease when I was growing up in the 70's? Very few folks were overweight prior to the mid to late 80's.

I would've loved this episode, but Jillian kept talking over the guests and I never heard much of their information! Jillian.... learn to silence yourself.

This was brutal to watch.

My husband took ozempic, and not only did he become anorexic, but the cherry on top was a blood clot in his lungs that put in intensive care for a month and was given 24 hours to live. Ozempic being glamorized but no one talking about the true danger of this medication

I've done all the right things for years. My father and both my maternal and paternal grandmothers, had DM type ll. The GLP-1's have done what diet exercise and the best supplements and hormone replacement could not. Im so careful what I put in my body. Im 61 years old and a busy floor nurse for 28 years. Im sure cronic stress has played a huge role in my weight problem. The big plus to this medication for me has been its health benefits. Less pain , better cardiovascular health have just been amazing.

Jillian, Just wondering do you do hormone replacement? If you do them, will you do them forever?

The AMA is a corrupt organization who are bought and paid for. I wouldn't trust ANYTHING they come up with. Follow that money. Naturopath docs do glp-1 totally different than MDs do. I think MDs are overdosing people on these peptides. Microdosing is safe, helpful tool, and lets you come off with a lifestyle change or bumped up as needed. Yes, lifestyle is the core issue but sometimes people have other issues and they need help. Obesity isn't a disease but it sure creates a lot of diseases. Jillian irritates the crap out of me with her lack of information and most of her arguments are opinions.

I have to agree with others. I adore what you're trying to say, but please, stop interupting your guests -- this is almost impossible to listen to. Without hearing their responses, we don't get to see how your points are validated by them.

My brother and his wife so far lost so much weight on this and they look healthy and vibrant. They go to the gym, sometimes walk the dog outside and they changed their eating habits

It's hard to listen to this video. Michaels talking over two actual doctors is frustrating. "Trainers" who think they are smarter than topic experts have no business at the table. I felt embarrassed for the host.

So how many biggest loser participant keep their weight peramanenty off?

I think it is cost benefit analysis. You cannot ignore that these drugs are assisting in curing severe obesity related diseases, protecting against heart disease, and curing SUD.

So much of what both sides are saying makes sense in parts. Those guys are very good at the convincing side of things and dealing with quite hostile debating.

Thank you Jillian for this interview! Over the years my weight has gone up and down but always having reasonable good health. Never needing medication. My thoughts on medication for weight loss and/or surgery for weight loss: I feel most people can lose weight without these measures by being accountable and consistent in their weight loss journey. I know there are circumstances where I believe if it is a life or death situation and nothing has worked, meaning people have literally tried everything, then and only then can these measures take place. I personally will never have weight loss surgery or take medication for weight loss because I know I can and have lost weight on my own, I just lack consistency sometimes😝 but have gone back on track with what works for my body because I had already done it before. I read your book years ago about the endocrine system and loved it. I loved the biggest loser as well. For my body and what always works for me to have optimal health and weight loss: whole 30 eating, intermittent fasting, and exercising 5 days a week (cardio and weight lifting). Always drinking water (I stopped drinking sodas in 2019). This time around I want to try eating healthier but not always restricting certain foods but rather swap for healthier choices. So glad I found your podcast because I’ve always respected your opinions and can’t wait to listen for more!

Disappointed with this “interview/debate”. Why invite them onto the show if you are not going to remain open to their views and continually talk over them?
The medications such as Ozempic are a tool to be used in conjunction with other lifestyle changes

Please stop interrupting the doctors.

If they are working for people why would we not want them. Maintenance is hard for any dieter. We should want to help
