Sure, Kamala wants to build government apartments like the Soviets.

lol neither side has a good fix. It’s really kind of simple. Changes government backed FHA loans so that it’s a guaranteed 3.5% interest rate, regardless of the federal reserve. Banks will fund it because it’s government backed, the down payment for an FHA loan is already reasonable. Giving people $25k for a down payment does nothing for them when interest rates are 7% and their mortgage is $2800 a month. Do you know why we are building less homes right now ( I own a construction company and have been doing residential construction for 12 years), because spec homes are sitting so long, they are losing money, and even cookie cutter homes in Colorado are sitting for a month before they go under contract, it’s because of these ridiculous interest rates. Interest rates wouldn’t be a huge factor if the average cost of a home was under $150k, but it’s not. It’s more than double that. So when you have a $375k home with a 7% interest rate, you’d be a fool to buy that house because your interest payment on that will be crippling. Stop letting bureaucrats who have no true understanding of these things, come out with half thought out solutions to problems they don’t understand

How about houses that are sitting empty in old neighborhoods be fixed up and made livable! And nobody is going to have a problem with mass deportation… it is called America taking care of America first.

I haven't heard any policies or comments from Trump about housing and creating more houses. Harris has a policy to support first home buyers. Australia have been doing this for decades to help first home buyers get into the housing market. My daughter used this support to buy her first home a year ago at the age of 27. This policy has been successful here in Australia.

The cost to build a home is over twice in most areas what people can actually afford. Most of the price increase happened between 2019 and 2022. The housing crisis isn't caused by too few homes, it is caused by an inflated dollar and loose credit. Lowering interest rates will make it worse not better. The only thing at this point that makes anything better is a 10-20 year long depression that shuts down the federal, state, and local bureaucracy, the monopolized corporations, the corruption and fusion of our government (at every level) with major corporations, and reprices everything to a competitive fair market value without that corruption and without all the corrupt regulations that favor corporations and tax feeding government employees and contractors.

Same thing goes for healthcare, automobiles, food, and all raw materials for domestic manufacturing.
