Danny Seraphine you're a great drummer mate, close to the best!!!!!
Ответить2 kids don't know how to tell the time!
ОтветитьInterestingly...Chicago Transit Authority was the band's first name... the Mayor of Chicago didn't think Rock & Roll was appropriate for their Transit Authority to be associated with, so somehow forced the band to change their name. Which obviously, they simply shortened it to Chicago.
ОтветитьThat was not Terry Katt singing..the singer was Robert Lamm
ОтветитьPoem 58 next..
ОтветитьTime is a human construct. And there are more times that not, I want to say GTFO.
ОтветитьThe piano intro is good but they should have just cut it in half.
ОтветитьThe beginning piano on this song was sometimes played on the radio, and sometimes it wasn't. If you get the greatest hits it is not on there. This was the first album I ever bought with my own money, and I listened to it until I wore it out, never listening without the piano. If you listen to the song enough, you can't listen to the song without it. It seems empty.
ОтветитьI remember the date..12-19-69 when a few of my buds and I hopped on the train from Budingen, where we were stationed in the US Army to Frankfur Germany to see a group I was unfamiliar with. We sat in the balcony of the Ein Hundert Jahre hall an were completely blown away by this group called Chicago. I was a fan from that day on. Unfortunantly the present Chicago isn't the true band mainly because of the improvisation of "sacred" Chicago tuines.
ОтветитьSaturday in the park, colour my world are also great songs by Chicago!
ОтветитьI’ve never heard that piano part either. Hmm?
ОтветитьWhat made Chicago so universally accepted and popular back in the day, was that they were a band that you could listen to with your parents. 👍🏻
ОтветитьThat you guys didn't both give this an 'S' kills your credibility. The intro was a thing of beauty, and the transition was perfect and interesting. They left it off the radio version, which provided me with a welcome surprise when I first heard the album.
ОтветитьTry Chicago's "Feelin' Stronger Every Day" next.
ОтветитьTerry Kath (guitarist) was the heart and soul of CHICAGO. Robert Lamm (piano) and Peter Cetera (bassist) were weaker substitutes. After Kath died, you see how sad their music was...
ОтветитьWLS Chicago. What a time growing up in Il. The intro was not played onAM but was
awesome whenever they released. Then Terry was gone. Band never recovered fully.
Quit picking your nose and playing with your hair.
ОтветитьRobert Lamm was the singer.
ОтветитьQuestion 67 & 68. Original please.
ОтветитьInspiration for legend of zelda music anybody?
ОтветитьThanks for playing Lamm's piano intro. It's not Previn, but it's great for a rock band. 😊
ОтветитьThey really cut this song up for AM.
ОтветитьI love that song!🥰👍🎉
ОтветитьMy thoughts on the piano intro is. . . Can anybody tell me what time it's in. As in musical time. You can't because it's free form with no consistent time signature. Do you get the idea?
ОтветитьYes. Hit BEGINNINGS!!
ОтветитьIntroduction
ОтветитьFirst song on their first album. Introduction.
ОтветитьIt's been 40 or 50 years since the last time I heard this song. It's a lot better than I remember.
ОтветитьYou guys didn't really appreciate Robert Lamm's brilliant piano playing but one day you may come back to it and see what his intention was.
ОтветитьI always like it when song go from disjointed to super tight.
ОтветитьNever heard that opening before
ОтветитьSouth California Purples.
ОтветитьRobert Lamm wrote and sang the song.
ОтветитьCongratulations. I hereby qualify you guys to program radio. BTW It's Robert Lamm singing, knuckleheads.
ОтветитьThat existential question about time...
ОтветитьI originally owned this on 8-track tape and recently bought it on vinyl. It’s a pressing from the 70’s but it sounds amazing. I’m extremely happy with the sound quality. Plus it is in wonderful condition vg++ to mint. The bass sounds remarkable .
ОтветитьThe album version of this song has what sounds like an avant-garde piano introduction. This version would not have been played on the radio.
ОтветитьMy high school class ('76) meets for lunch once a month at a restaurant that has a display of several clocks showing different times of the day. The display's title: Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?
ОтветитьI love this song. Bottom line: being a slave to time sucks.
But, we are all slaves to time. Time rules us. It rushes us. It stresses us.
Why is it that so many artists cover this subject? Time?
The radio version didn't have the piano.
ОтветитьI know what time it is, it's 25 or 6 to 4. 🤨
I think the intro piano piece was supposed to be keyboards played out of time, changing it's time signatures etc. Which is cool, but I agree that part could have been a little shorter.
You guys look a little confused at the star. Dissonant piano
ОтветитьYes, Rob Lamm played the introduction and was lead singer on this song.
ОтветитьPiano intro sucked.
ОтветитьCan't believe that a drummer didn't figure out that the piano part was a challenge to figure out what the TIME SIGNATURE is.
ОтветитьSunny days at the Jersey shore. Loved that time of life.
ОтветитьThis was Robert Lamm singing not Terry Kath, my bad, hope you enjoyed this video! What should we hit next from Chicago!?
