The Octillary Story is based on Japanese Folklore of The fisherman's wife. 😂
ОтветитьWell that's one way to ruin everyone's childhood
ОтветитьNo longer can the fans say Nintendo/Gamefreak didn't know what they were doing when they made bipedal pokemon.... *you know the ones*. We now have proof; they knew.
ОтветитьYou know what's funny but likely unrelated? In genshin theres a character named Amber that used to torture these monsters called hilichurls. Shed experiment on them and stuff their bodies inside of machines that tore them apart from while they're inside. Maybe the guys that wrote that rubbed shoulders w someone at nintendo.
ОтветитьHelp me the allegations are hurting my reputation
ОтветитьI think people are taking these leaked folktales too seriously. Cause that’s what these are, folktales, and even then, these stories were scrapped.
I think that these stories were more so to be like old folktales and the Pokémon series itself has eluded to darker elements of the series and it’s entirely possible that the devs did consider at some point that they wanted to do something a bit more darker with the series but couldn’t because of that stigma of “Pokémon is meant for kids.”
It is just a kids game btw😂
ОтветитьYou can tell everyone is here for the drama because he has to explain who game freak is
ОтветитьSparking zero is peak
ОтветитьBro this is one of the most interesting lore in Pokemon and it's absolutely based on at that
ОтветитьYe seems about Japanese tbh they are known for making/having disgusting/disturbing stuff makes no sense mayn.
ОтветитьThey be freaky on their game
ОтветитьMan 12 years ago every fan would have liked or just laugh at it and now everyone in the comments compering pokemon to pdfiles and other freaks...
ОтветитьThe stories are not canon, they're unused myths that would have been found in Canalave Library in Gen 4, had they been included. The creation story we already mostly had already, all we really got from that leak was that Dialga and Palkia were married, made humans and Pokémon and respectively, made the weather trio who messed up the tree of life, and then which lesser "gods" presided over land, earth and sea.
Said lesser gods were a mix of legendaries, pseudo legendaries (Dragonite, Metagross, etc) and strangely, Gyarados. This was interesting because pseudo legendary was a fan term, so the fact that they had god like status considered behind the scenes was an intriguing coincidence (pseudo legendaries are called that due to several factors, but they're typically 3 stage Pokémon with the final stage reaching a base stat total of 600, they're next to the legendaries in the Pokédex, most are dragon type though at the time this was written, only salamence and Dragonite were dragon, anyway, you get the idea I hope.)
Then there's that big transmutation circle. That thing is extremely interesting, because we've seen it in the games at very specific instances with Arceus, first time was in HeartGold SoulSilver, a special event that takes place by bringing Arceus to the Ruins of Alph, which then takes you to a place called the Sinjoh Ruins, where we see it in the strangest cutscene of all time. The symbol is mostly unchanged from the beta one that got leaked, except there's an extra circle near the centre for Giratina (in the beta Aus is Arceus, Ea and Is are Dialga and Palkia). No one knew what that circle really meant at the time, there were good speculations, but this confirmed, it's in relation to the legendaries descending from Arceus. We see it again in the games, in Legends Arceus, where it's the floor design in the Hall of Origin, where Arceus resides.
But yeah, what I'm trying to get to: While some of the leaks are weird, not canon, you can see what they influenced and the intent. There's a reason why we never see these in the actual games, because they know it's not appropriate, but it's the creative process that eventually gave us the final product that's fascinating to see.
The Canalave Library myth stories are very tame in comparison btw, but not far off from theming. There's a story about eating Pokémon, cleaning the bones and returning them to the water, as the cycle of life begins anew. There's one about humans and Pokémon sitting at the same table, saying how they weren't distinguished (Japanese translation says they married), and there's one about a guy who finds a sword and starts killing a bunch of Pokémon before getting warned by (I believe Giratina) to stop or else he'll get destroyed and killed. Still intense, still wild, but much more toned down, easy to miss.
Ngl, this is par for the course for pokemon. Is still wild tho
ОтветитьNgl Japan is wierd af
ОтветитьNow I know why gamefreak takes down fan games
They want to be the freakist of them all
It dosent seem too surprising to me, pokemon lore has always been a bit wild realy,...even though this is a new type of wild.
ОтветитьGame freak makes sense now
ОтветитьHey man I think I speak for a fair amount of people when I say we enjoy just about any type of video you put out weather it’s reacting to a lady going crazy in a Walmart or a news story we just enjoy listening to your takes and humor you provide as well so whatever you make we will enjoy more than likely and it’ll always be better than nothing for a month imo, also I obviously don’t know how your schedule is but if you record like five videos in a day we probably don’t mind if you just spread it out for five days hope this makes sense and it’s not all yap
ОтветитьI get less of a "fetish" feel from this and more of a... I got Japanese Mythology vibes from this. Seriously, Japanese mythology is the most messed up of all mythologies.
ОтветитьIt should be noted that none of this story stuff is canon. Seems to be mostly based on Japanese folklore and yokai which really isn't that surprising considering that many pokemon were already inspired by this stuff
ОтветитьThis just sounds like old folk tales to teach people to respect nature.
it's not that deep or even disturbing, maybe if you are an American.
This is just old fables, like Greek mythology.
Only thing I can think of similar is in gen 2 team rocket cut slow poke tails and it shows taileless slowpokes
ОтветитьJust when you thought the Ash Ketchum Theory was disturbing enough, then THIS happens.
ОтветитьTo fair to them they thought noone else will see it😂
ОтветитьThe vegans are coming
ОтветитьIt's basically Inuyasha.
ОтветитьAh yes, now all the gardevoir r34 is now canon
ОтветитьWhoever wrote that needs to be fired assuming he or she wasn’t fired.
ОтветитьWhile Pokemon is no stranger to dark stuff (USUM Pokedex for one instance.), this just feels a bit wrong...
ОтветитьGoodness...
ОтветитьI was never into Pokemon, & I'm not gonna start...
ОтветитьHuh, that one freaky Pal in Palworld got nothing on this story. If this is true I don't know why I'm not surprised.
ОтветитьSo they try to sue Palworld and then full on out-freak it. They are so cooked.
ОтветитьSounds like some legends lore
ОтветитьThey called gameFREAK for a reason...
Ответитьoptimus when are you gonna come out and tell everyone your transistioning to a woman?
ОтветитьI don't know why so many people went crazy over this, it was already obvious for a long time that many concepts and pokemon were based on folkloric things from Japanese culture (and others), so it's not at all strange that at some point they thought about being less subtle about it only to end up changing direction for obvious reasons.
It's not really that different from other mythologies really, although it's actually funny that at some point it was considered to put it at the forefront when presenting the lore of the franchise.
Wait until he discovers the Greek mythologie
To me it doesn't sound that bad to have a lore inspired by greek mythologie (especially if it happens in Grece), and yes, greek mythologie was freaky
Optimus: It's Bayvers'n time & he Bayversed all over the place.
ОтветитьI guess that's how they gonna compete with Palworld's dark themes. Completely fair compared to the previous lawsuit against them over game mechanic. However this sounds like the average Pokémon creepypasta.
ОтветитьOkay, I knew it was pretty dark and I knew about the Pokemon/Human relations but some of that was a bit too dark
ОтветитьDiddymon ahh leak💀
ОтветитьThey are game freaks all right lol also j can never look at typhlosion the same way again
ОтветитьSo are we not going to discuss Gengar telling the trainer to "Give up!" through the pokédex?
ОтветитьGamefreak employees at the diddy parties 😂
ОтветитьThey really be putting the freak in Gamefreak
Ответить
