Ja its quite strange, in all the games so far it seems the refs are less concerned about head contact and high tackles

Thanks for the video again!
Scrum penalties are mysterious to most people and they’d be better off flipping a coin! What does concern me and shouldn’t be tolerated is headshots and high tackles being missed. It’s foul play, plain and simple by the laws.
Does World Rugby really care about player welfare?

Reffing was kak in general. Don't think one team benefitted more than the other

The TMO was completely MIA in that match. We actually remarked at some point during the game that someone should should go do a health check visit and make sure he's still breathing.
What's being missed in that final charge-down attempt, is that the player blocking Kolbe shouldn't even have been on the field if the ref and TMO had done their jobs properly with that double croc roll and bunker decision.

Don't watch Rugby any more. It's fixed, the ref and his team proved that in this match. Ireland were assured victory to satisfy World Rugby.

You seriously just ignored the fact that on the final drop kick Dorris shifted his hips even if it was slightly an obstruction is an obstruction

Great analysis.

However, on the last drop goal, the irish player moves to his left to block RG run after the ball is out. Somehow the officials missed this. Is this not obstruction?

You have spent only about 2 minutes pointing out the dodgy stuff the boks got away with, which the majority of it was foul play, but dedicate most of the vid to criticising Ireland?

The croc roll looked worse than it was. Ireland 8 lost his footing and fell on, didn’t drive into SAF.

I think when we watch rugby, we always assume that our boys are sweet little angels who never set a foot wrong.

But to each and every supporter who watched the titanic game in Durban Saturday: no your boys were not sweet little angels. Yes, they absolutely were busy with some shithousery.

Thank you for this. Its appalling to think Marx is out again after he could not be in the World Cup team due to injury. A year later and two tests later and he is out again. Targetting the knee clearly in white bandaid landing on it is deliberate imho.

Doris got yellow carded so I don't know why this is being made into such a big deal. It was more akward than malicious and he got punished for it. Crazy expecting a red and a yellow card. No point playing the game if that was the case.

I watched Nigel Owens whistle watch. He basically said the Doris incident was down to referee interpretation. It was looked at by the TMO and the South African team can lodge a complaint if they feel justified. Rassie has not said anything and has said Ireland deserved to win. We (Ireland ) were probably a bit lucky with this decision but we had terrible luck with the Ref and TMO in the first test which could have affected the outcome of that game. Sorry for Marx, I hope he makes a quick recovery.

Reffing is very questionable these days - so many calls could go either way - if 50/50 calls went one way, Ireland could have won by more, if they went the other way, SA could have won by 10 points or more. It's sad that we come away from these games unsure of who really should have won, and by how much!

The refs and TMO's cannot see and scrutinize everything in 80 minutes. Otherwise Rugby would mutate into the American NFL. Start stop every dawn 2 minutes. We have to live with these decisions. Right or wrong.

@pudwellion - 18.07.2024 13:51

Referees havent a clue about the scrum. Most scrums aren't stable before the ball goes in. They should have the TMO looking at every scrum in slow motion, but that would ruin the game.

Ответить
@Skyscraper2015
@Skyscraper2015 - 18.07.2024 20:58

The way these refs saw it was #8 was yellow carded because he was helped by Ryan Baird this you can't put full blame on that player. The ref "No sorry Doris is not fully to blame, because his friend Ryan Baird also helped him therefore he shouldn't get a red card, it should only be yellow"

Seems to me that Ireland has learned the "dark arts" like All Blacks used Australia used before modern technology became commonplace. SA needs to add that dimension to thier games. Then they will be unstoppable

Nice review as always, problem is some TMO gets to involved for no reason just to give bad judgment calls and some just don't get involve for serious clear and obvious foul play like the tackle shoulder on head contact with force as well as the croc roll on the knee that play was in a dangerous position red card. But we won't see much change from the ref and TMO bad calls

A loose head prop (No 1) will NEVER pull the scrum down. It is his job to keep the scrum open for his hooker and scrum half. The tight head (No 3) might press downwards complicating the job of the opposition hooker and scrum half. It is a huge misconception of refs that a No 1 prop would (pull the scrum down) …
