The Citadel (Citadelle Souterraine de Verdun), Verdun, France

La Citadelle Souterraine de Verdun or the Citadel is, fromt he outside an amzing fortified structure on the western side of Verdun. Visitors enter the Citadell expecting to see the Citadel but instead you are taken on a 'train' ride through the history of Verdun. Unfortunately you don't really get a chance to see the Citadel internally as it is pitch black and the only a single display area at the end. As a non-French speaker, I cannot really recommend it.
