Love the vids Rick! keep em coming
ОтветитьGreat tips. One I don't agree with is carrying a lofted wedge. I think hitting a lob wedge consistently is not easy for weekend warriors. I took out my lob wedge and I haven't looked back. My sand wedge does everything 100 and less including flop shops. I say learn to use the bounce on your wedge and you'll be very creative around the greens.
ОтветитьIf you play enough ea sports pga tour you’ll know this all
ОтветитьRick, i have been watching you for a couple years now and i appreciate your easy teaching manner. Lots of others tend to ramble and repeat themselves but not you. Many thanks good sir.
ОтветитьThanks Rick, I just recently got my best score of 91. So I'll use this to try scrape off a few more shots.
ОтветитьBut, when you play against pro's you play shots that we play. Then say gee i'm not playing well, gee I didnt hit that great, continually making excuses. You just try to match them or out muscle them continually making mistakes.
ОтветитьPoor Rick...the way he plays in all his match play videos, id be surprised if HE can even break 85. LOL
ОтветитьTerima kasih.
ОтветитьWho else is watching this 45 mins before a round
ОтветитьReally agree with making sure the clubs have a purpose. Helps so much with decision making and go-to.
Found that gap between woods and irons so difficult until I put a 7 wood in.
I broke 85 once, on the front 9
ОтветитьAs someone who has been shooting in the low 80s, like 80, 81, short game! I honestly lose most of my strokes around the green! Sometimes people forget that 300 yard drive is worth the same as a 30 foot chip!
Ответитьjust shot 82 yesterday 😁👍
thanks for the tips
Really good and practical advice. It’s really all about knowing your bag and distances, the wedge thoughts are great. The putting tip is also good but I always tell people to make sure they commit to a follow through. Stops those horrible jabs that always go right. Swing past the ball and it’ll stay on line.
ОтветитьMy blood pressure breaks 80 every time I’m out there 😂
ОтветитьYou are a genius, genius teacher. Born to teach. I learned a lot. Thanks a lot!!
ОтветитьI feel like you need to watch some of your own instructional videos before you go out to break 75 these days Rick 😂
ОтветитьIf you want to read the Gospel then I will put something like that in my replies, but if you read that then you should still read the complete Gospel. I put this because in Acts 1:8 it says “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” so I put this to do what The Lord says. If you read it then like the comment so that more people can see it, and more people have at least one opportunity, because accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior is the most important decision that you will ever make.
ОтветитьPlease come 2 Perth WA and have a game with me thanks Les from Perth ⛳⛳⛳💯💯💯👍👍👍👀👀👀
ОтветитьAt my favorite course they always put those silly pin placements on all the par 3's. I NEVER hunt pins on the par 3's. I do not consider them potential birdie holes, and my approach is to ALWAYS hit to the fat of the green, and once on concentrate on a two putt and move on. I track my scores all year round and I can tell you that I rarely make birdies on par 3's. The proof is in the numbers. play a little more aggressive on the par 5's where you can gamble a little and still recover if things go awry, and then attack the easiest par 4's. It works for me and my handicap is a consistent 4.
ОтветитьBrilliant! Yesterday, after my 12th round in 33 years, I shot an 87 on a par 70, so I now have a new goal, and this is just what I was thinking I needed! Thank you so much for making this video!
ОтветитьI watch Rick play with good good and he was terrible so to follow his advice about anything in golf would be a disaster for even the worst of players.
ОтветитьCan't like this enough. Love it
Ответить@rickshielsgolf 😊
ОтветитьTip #1
Unsubsidized to this channel
I like the part about equipment. I used to shy away from my 4 and 3 irons but decided they're tools I need to learn to use. When used properly the benefit is out of this world. What I do with those clubs now is ungodly.
Ответитьyour ring gonna hurt ya finger. looks like its crushing your finger
ОтветитьThe old Sam Sneed advice is the best. "Dance with one that brung yah". I became a good player when I decided to NEVER EVER get conservative when I had a good round going. My thought on the 18th tee was to bust it further than I ever have before. You'll get burned once in awhile. But you'll become a great player that way too. An old touring pro named Ivan "the terrible" Gantz told me the same thing. Said Ivan, "the tighter the hole, the more emotion you put into the swing". Even Trevino always said, "I want to hit very hard on my last shot to win". It's just like basketball. When you get defensive, the other team takes over.
Ответить🏌️♂️
ОтветитьWatched it and shot 76 the next day. Thanks Rick!
ОтветитьI'm a 28 handicap and I still found this video helpful. Thanks Rick!
ОтветитьBeen playing for 3 months self trained by Rick and I hit 85 last weekend
ОтветитьWhen this video first came out, I've been going like clockwork trying to learn the third way of breaking 85. 6 months later, I now have 4 different shots with each wedge. (16 total once I get the lob wedge).
ОтветитьI want to hit under 100 first :(
ОтветитьGreat stuff Rick..........just subscribed
ОтветитьBest advice I have..if you have a weird lie, no matter the distance, swallow your ego and hit a punch shot. Just give yourself an up and down opportunity every time. Breaking 85 is all about eliminating blow ups.
ОтветитьRick might have to start watching his own videos for tips after episode 1&2 of break 75
ОтветитьGolf tips to break 85:
• Don’t hit it in the water
• Don’t hit it in the woods
• Don’t hit it OB
• Don’t hit it in the sand
• Only play 14 holes
awesome tips, very pragmatic, great stuff, subscribed
ОтветитьHi. 14 handicap with big distance but difficultly with control on somedays. Thanks for this. I learned a lot. Your content always delivers
ОтветитьConsistent ball strinking to break 90.
Course management to break 85.
Great putting to break 80.
Me watching this wondering where the "how to break 147" video is 😅🤣
ОтветитьI got close to an 85 once, but the marshal said I was holding up play and it was time to go to the second hole.
ОтветитьWhy does it look like your in front of a green screen?
ОтветитьOne of my favorite tips is: if you have a 'nemesis', a certain lie or scenario on the course that you're always afraid is going to go wrong, have a club for it. Doesn't have to be the only thing you use that club for, but make one your go to club, one thats designed against the problems with that lie. Whether it be a fairway bunker, a tight chip to the pin, or in my case right behind a tree line, if you find a quick and easy solution it'll help you play better
ОтветитьSolid tips. I’ve been hitting 80’s most my life and never took lessons. Kind of natural at it. Did start at 13 years old though.
ОтветитьSome good ideas. Im 88 to 92 on most rounds and at this point w a consistent swing .
i need small considerations like these to shave a few strokes here and there.
“Easy” so this is a bullshit video
ОтветитьWatching your videos and now realize how lucky I am to be a golfer in the USA.
Even our crappy courses look like Pebble Beach compared to UK courses.
Do they not want to invest in landscaping and sand?
