Space Wolves Army Set Prices Confirmed - Is it a Good Deal or Not?

My local game store got massively short changed for the amount of
boxes they wanted. I was lucky and got one. The set is already sold out, so prepare for scalpers sadly.

Got two boxes through a discount retailer in Western Australia, $308 aud each

Converting my space Marine units to space wolves to match with this. Also, I feel like assualt intercessors would be a good proxy for blood claws

An army box and a combat patrol box seems the way to go. Such good sculpts. What a shame they didn’t update the Wulfen at the same time.

A fair good deal ,but not the best. For big box I will recommend Blood Angels or the Emperor’s Children.

The only downside of teh Combat Patrol is that it has those dang Wulfen in there. I don't want those guys around, clogging up my collection., Trying to find someone local that'll trade them will be the real challenge.

Dang... had auto-refresh on for wargame portal for 9pm PST. Literally right when it populated I added the wolves army set to cart and it said it was already out of stock.

I swear it was not even a minute, probably not even 30 seconds. the Launch Box sold out. Oh well.

Those space wolves are great, just not something I’m going to buy right now.

I wonder how much GW would loose/gain if they did these army boxes on a limited release time, say a month to get your order in to guarantee a copy, rather then limited release quantity.

With Combat Patrol not being exactly the best game mode ever it seems like the army set is the better investment. Nice characters and core units to start building with.

I'm fairly new to the hobby so this'll be the first big pre order I try to snag, pray for me 🙏

I think the box has gone from a must buy to a maybe now. I don't see myself using many of the new detachments.

There are so many cool characters but they're locked into so few units. I don't want to run an army of 60 Blood Claws and 18 Headtakers so I'll need to pick and choose which SW characters I actually need.

Especially after the guff some people made for the Blood Angels release, and I assume much of these things are planned out in advance enough that such blowback couldn't really influence it?, I'm glad that the new Space Wolves look as good as they do, and on brand, if you will. I'll wonder how much of their lists will just be these units, and ignore most of the base Marines options, based on what stuff keys off of Space Wolves specifically; who can join what squads, and use specific abilities, or Stratagems, and what will just be Primaris Marines painted blue gray, and maybe spiced up with some theme bits? It's a bit odd that Captains can't basically be Wolf Lords, and that specific characters are very particular in what units they can join, or not, but that's all mechanics, and has little to do with how good they look, or if these will sell, and I'm certain they will.

As a weird aside, is there a lore reason why the Wolves color scheme is a blue shade, and not more gray? Just curious.

Great video for everyone I imagine but especially for a guy like me who only tested the tabletop game very briefly as a teenager and never thought about returning until being the middle aged man I am now. Always kept sight on the lore though, HH series etc.

SW we're my guys so this is extremely good timing if stock is available. Great video to understand what bang I'm getting for my Buck and I think I'm now convinced to take the plunge. Thank you and loving your videos.

Looking forward to the army box. The new models look awesome. Kinda disappointed they haven't done anything with the old Bjorn and Murderfang models. Size creep has made them look out of place. Dropping the Long Fangs and Lukas sucks. I feel they are important to the lore and the story of the spacewolves to just drop them.

Def trying to buy army and patrol(when available) for SW's. I refuse to buy bad models as punishment to GW, but conversely when they make goods ones, I feel compelled to reward.

Unfortunately although the wolves are incredibly nice, my pile of shame has finally overthrown my inherent shamelessness.

I live in a small town. the local game store tends to have boxes like this for extended periods of time. was there 5/15/25 and they still had 2 Kroot army boxes

The Emperor will decide if I my very first army will be the Space Wolves or not.

It's reasonable if you are lucky enough to get your hands on it.
The two Ten man units will be 70$USS each, and the head takers will be the same (already at 210$)
30$ for each character
And 60$ for the (normal) codex, special edition probably 90$
You pretty much get the codex and characters for free

Let's be honest anyone running saga of the bold is running 3 battle leaders, maybe even in any army if they stay at 65 points for such a wicked statline. The cbp is perfect with the army box imo

If they hadn't removed the wolves as an army, I would have bought this. The fact there is no synergy with generic marines is the largest crime overall. This box should not be praised, but shamed. It was made to kill an army, and the collections people have made for it.
