Ответитьyou need to kill the soundtrack when you're demonstrating the sound in a model.
ОтветитьA great concept Athearn need to adopt because they could.BLUEBOX 2.0
ОтветитьI love scaletrains and try to buy them whenever I can. However, just getting into N scale, I noticed the BLI N scale diesels have a keep alive in them. I’m thinking of going BLI for my first N scale diesel. I just don’t know if BLI is as good quality as scaletrains.
ОтветитьFor N and Z scale… excessive detailling frankly gets in the way…
Especially with my (/our) fading eyesights…
Love this addition of the 'Hypotipical' line to the Scaletrains lineup! I ordered an HO scale BNSF Heritage 1 myself. I know when they announced these, the haters went berserk on Facebook (I know, big surprise, lol). But I'm in 100% agreement with you, Jimmy, this was a great move by Scaletrains, especially choosing what I consider one of their flagship Rivet Counter (not to mention their oldest) the ET44AC for this project! As I've said to the people who absolutely hate these, "this is just more variety on a model thats already proven itself over the years, and if you don't like them, don't buy them!". I know I'm excited to get mine!
ОтветитьThe whole idea of Model Railroad is modeling. What is out there in real life. So throwing in Model locomotives that are fake units, i’m not sure that’s entirely ethical. Then again it’s your layout. You can do whatever you want. I’ve spent too long too many hours making sure that my roster is pro-typical.
ОтветитьGreat idea
ОтветитьWe don’t need loud background music when we are evaluating the quality of the sound card.
ОтветитьI started a brief case train layout. Flat open its 4ft x 3.25 feet . I also have a antique Luis vetting? Suit case 18 inches x 32 inches..
Can anyone tell me the beat size trains to use for full landscaping of a city, airport, and boat docks.
N / z / t scale?. I'm also considering space for multiple custom magnarail type tracks
Can you do review on scaletrains 68' bulkhead?
ОтветитьFinally they are making trains we want. Most don't need the highest detaild model. It seens ervy make is going for those hight detailed with big prices. BIL has done fome fantasy trains that work for me.
ОтветитьJimmy, haven't heard any sound out of your loc. the music was louder!
ОтветитьWhat is this and why? Its to much these days, not fun anymore. Glad i have my old DC trains(athearn blue boxes, atlas yellow boxes and rivarossi)and all of them still runs great. Proud dc runner😁
ОтветитьGreat share bud. Wonder why they just don't make more of the same proto locos. These are 250 bucks too. Or 145 dc only.
ОтветитьGood morning Jimmy. Today I’m drinking some instant Folgers…. $1.49 for 7 individual packets!!!
Yummy!
Thanks again for sharing your experience and knowledge with the WORLD 🌎 I am planning on making my first preorder purchase this week
Wow! I cant believe thats N scale!
ОтветитьSo I have a rail-served industry and the class I deprecated the two miles of track to my plant. So I make a railroad. Same rivets, different paint job. Wait. There IS a prototype for this.
ОтветитьCome on Jimmy, this is what you do for a living. You should know to mute the background music if we are to hear the loco. Nice loco though.
ОтветитьHi Jimmy. What do you feel is the minimum radius you should have with N scale passenger trains?
ОтветитьGreat idea from "Scale Trains";
Hopefully now; Scale Trains, can produce more variety including, the MTH CAD designs, acquired by"Scale Trains".
I'm thinking the "Subway car series", being produced in HO, and possibly N scale, subway cars. (hopefully, different models than MTH previously made in HO scale).
This opens up a whole new variety, of a hope of production, by Scale Trains.
Thanks again Jimmy.
(Yeah; you may want to lower the volume , of the background music, the next time you do a review).
Thanks again Jimmy, for all your great work!
Im still upset i have to wait several more years for the GE44 law enforcement from scale trains. Somehow they lost several of the molds for it. So now they are starting from scratch.
ОтветитьWould love to see a Santa Fe warbonnet from the next run.
ОтветитьYep... It's another Scale Trains NS... I know you love your NS, but are there any regional or shortline railroads you wish you could add to your livery?
ОтветитьAnother firehouse blend (AKA Folgers) with a scoop of ice cream and some creamer.
Ответить$$$!
ОтветитьLOL. listen to my sound decoder. Leaves background music playing, ;)
I'm not sure I'd buy these in any scale. N, especially seems like you would be hard pressed to see the finer details due to the size.
I wonder why they would make these smaller runs with existing tooling vs just making more Rivetcounters to satisfy their existing demand. As you said, they are sold out more often than not. The solution is to use the same tools, add some detail, then charge more? I don't get it.
Most of us want a relatively moderate amount of detail from our locomotives. Pilot detail, some under frame bits. Enough to make it look like the real thing. Anything beyond that can be done by the modeler (not many of us left it would seem).
In the end, I have a less than great feeling about Scaletrains. I have one of their SD40-2s (snoot 5126) and its a great model. But it isn't that much more amazing than an Athearn Genesis or some of the Atlas Gold offerings. And I can go out and buy those just about any time. And how many of us got burned by their pre-order for the fox valley N scale SD70s and ES44s? Waited and waited only to have the order canceled by ST because they wanted to re-tool.
And their pre-order guarantee? Garbage. They didn't fulfill the order and I sure as hell didn't get a $1000 credit in my account.
I have an idea: if I stand looking at a layout that is 3 feet high and I am 6 feet tall, in HO scale I will be about 230 feet away and in N scale about 280 feet away. If I fly a drone over a real railroad at 230 feet I will see it close to 1:87 scale and if at 280 feet, close to N scale. That could be very useful for modeling. You in the US can do it (in Chile I can't because it is prohibited) and it would be interesting to see the result of photographs taken like that.
ОтветитьDont listen to all the others on here buddy. Just keep doing your thing. This video was informative, and not about a factory installed sound.
ОтветитьJimmy, love your videos. Next time, please turn the music off so we can hear the sound coming from the locomotive. I couldn't hear anything and in the end is a disservice to the sound card you're showcasing.
ОтветитьI think the concept of the HypoTypical is a good idea, like you mentioned a class 2 or shortline whose loco originated at a class one can be modeled without certain one off parts but where I think scaletrains should also look is say maybe what if SP, DRG&W, Conrail, or CNJ were still around
Ответитьmusic????????????????????????????????
ОтветитьNetscafe cappuccino instant pack with included choc shaker.
I'm a might bit lazy 😊
I like it personally. Perhaps maybe they could do an ET44 in Network South East livery in the future which would be fun. I don't mind fictional liveries. Its being creative!
ОтветитьHey Jimmy, Love the new locomotive, Glad to see that Scale Trains is going for a mass produced but really good-looking locomotive. I love your flatcars that the engine was pulling. What are they and what brand. I model HO scale, so I was wondering, knowing that you do N scale. I personally would love to see more undecorated locos especially high hoods in the old EMD styles.
ОтветитьI'mma have to look into these.
ОтветитьI wish Scale Trains would do some first generation stuff. The oldest model they have is the HO GP30, and they don’t have it in Reading RR, which had the first ones produced. They’ve visited our model railroad museum (the L&KV) to show us some of their models. I asked them when are they going to do some first generation models, I even suggested the Baldwin center cab DT66-2000. They didn’t seem too😊 interested.
Ответитьinsane
ОтветитьWhere does a fellow get the y6b blue?
ОтветитьThanks for the video Jimmy. I've been debating on Scale Trains so thank you for the review. And keep doing your videos your way. Don't listen to naysayers or people that don't make your videos.
ОтветитьI must be an old fart but I prefer 70's and 80's western trains, mainly D&RGW and SP (where I grew up). I have 9 of their new tunnel motors ordered and paid for. Just waiting for them to get shipped!
ОтветитьRobinson Larry Anderson Steven Jones Sarah
ОтветитьI have a question csn hypo typical ho scale train run as a mainline, i have well cars auto rack and flat cars for semi trailers?
ОтветитьIf these were cheaper id say it's a good idea but they cost the same as the prototypical line. Scaletrains got to where they are because of their high detailed as close to accurate prototypical models.
ОтветитьGreat video! We're glad that you're enjoying the HypoTypical Tier 4! -Logan
