If you are hurting or broken hearted, please give this a read. I'm posting this is to tell everybody to keep looking. Some people are meant to be in your life for a finite amount of time, and to teach you things you would not have learned on your own and to help you grow. On the other side of the coin, some people are meant to be there forever. Don't rule it out or you will miss out on some amazing memories and lessons as well as self betterment. There's somebody out there, you just have to wait and look. The only reason I'm better is because my ex pushed me to the brink of punching my own ticket by gaslighting me, treating me like i was worthless, and cheating. I eventually snapped and told her exactly what i thought of her. Instead of giving her the satisfaction of knowing she hurt me like that I dug in my heels. I dropped 250 pounds over the next year and a half, getting a job and starting two more businesses on my own. The aftermath of her actions left me in a stage of manwhoring around out of fear of being hurt. I had alot of fun and racked up a massive body count, but it never really felt right. The hookups were meaningless, but they served as a huge confidence boost that I never had before. That, combined with my amazing friends and people that acknowledged my efforts, showed me I had so much more self worth than I ever knew. I know my worth now. Im confident. I look and feel amazing, have amazing friends and a good family, and its all thanks to my childhood best friend cheating on me. A little while back I gave up on dating and was in the middle of deleting my dating apps when I got matched with somebody on the app i was in the process of deleting. We started facetiming for hours every night and I eventually grew enough of a pair to ask her to come to dinner with me. I was waiting at the restaurant when I figured out she wasn't coming. I went to a bar and started drinking when she called me and told me she had overslept (i kept her up until 7am on the phone) and was super sorry. She sounded like she was going to cry. I offered to come get her and we went to my best friends place and drank the night away, having our first kiss in the bathroom of all places. I woke up with her in my arms the next morning and realized how much i actually liked her, and that i wasn't afraid that she would hurt me for the first time since my engagement fell apart. I'm so happy that I can say I have plans this valentine's day with someone as amazing as her. I'm not ready to tell her yet, but I genuinely think I'm in love with her. Keep your heads up fellas, have your fun and be brave. Good things come to those who wait. Happy valentine's and single awareness day, everyone.
