Gimmicky beauty products that we tried to forget

There is a shiseido brush that existed for a long time with a jelly side, but its jelly piece is big and a lot larger than this revlon gimmick!!

I'm recovering from a bout of covid at the moment, so I'm not sure if this is actually a memory or some weird fever dream: Does anyone remember a weird mascara that had an applicator like a paint roller for some reason? I've a feeling it might have been from Avon, which is so specific I'm worried that I didn't actually dream it, and it might have been a real thing.😟

The Tati beauty velour puff is still one of my favourite items. I’m sad the brand shut as there were some great quality products

I laughed out loud because I still do use my glitter ballsack…it is an amazing “magic eraser” for errant eyeliner, mascara, or other products you nick your face with and want to remove quickly.

Well, at least ballsacks are useful...😜

Do yall remember those like fuzzy sponges? It was almost like a velvet outside. Funny story i used one when i was in esthetics school and under the woods lamp you could see all the little fibers on my face. I didnt know what it was at the time but i figured it out later.

I LOVED the super sponge!!! It was my all time favorite foundation applicator. I used less product and got better coverage. I miss it. Wish I would’ve stocked up 😭 I’ll try the makeup forever. I had no idea.

I gotta say, i still use that dang tati puff and k really wish it would come back. Maybe i just need to try some other ones but I really did love it and still use it (though i probably shouldn't because its pretty gross). If the brand had survived I do think i would have been a repeat buyer

The only thing I ever found those silicone sponges useful for was mixing on it like a palette. I bought a cheap Elf one to use for travel.

I think that person was referring to the Juno sponge, that hairy looking beauty blender and not the Tati-style velour puff 🤷🏻‍♀️

I honestly could not get through doing my homework if it was for y'alls videos playing on the background. I, of course, watch it once throughly without distraction, but it's nice having you ladies playing in the background as I cry over college pre-calculus .

I recently purchased RoseandBen 's velour puff and it works well and washed well. A bit unique fabric

I actually really like it for my last step by running it over my face with nothing on it to make sure everything is blended out nicely and that there are no streaks

Metal lash combs are sooo much better than plastic ones (which I have broken). My metal one is from real techniques, have had for years!

I love the puff for applying my concealer. It gives me a much nicer finish than either using a brush or sponge.

e.l.f. also sell a 'silicone' make-up sponge, similarly to the one by Makeup Forever, it has a silicone coated base. It's £6 here in the UK and is actually pretty good. Remember that roll-on made of pumice stone or something like that by Revlon? The one which was supposed to absord oil from the face? I've seen that and copies of that on sale in TK Maxx recently. That was also a weird product.

I actually like to use the silicone applicator to apply gel liner to my waterline!

It was annoying for me to always be cleaning the dried chunks of gel liner out of my brush and found that I can dip the very tip of the silicone applicator into the gel pot and apply it to my waterline and smudge it out! It actually works surprisingly well.

I got two applicators for $5 on Yesstyle, and I'd say it's worth a try experimenting with them.

I'm pretty sure a ball sack shaped sponge is being released by a big brand, can't remember which one possibly one size

Still love my Evie knock off the material it's made off make my foundation set faster and therefore eliminates the need for powder.

Also the way it interacts why Cetaphil moisturizer is lovely.

I appreciated your sentiments on the wing stamper. I personally find I wouldn’t wear just the stamped wing, but that certain ones, because of how you line them up, gave a really great outline for getting the angles of a wing correct and matching. I’d then go in with an angled liner brush and extend the flick or darken the stamp and it worked well. But I’ve since given up on wings. I just don’t feel the need for them as my glasses almost always hide them. A colorful waterline is almost always going to be more noticeable on me and far easier to do.
