I'd like to understand in more depth, your thinking behind the 7th chord not allowing a 6th, but instead, the 6th becomes the 13th. My own take on the 11th chord is that it is NOT a 'sus 4' (my argument being a similar one to yours about the 6th) and I wonder if there is some 'formal' source on compound chords that I may have missed?
ОтветитьNoah, I'd die for a complete version of that My Funny Valentine arrangement, played all in a single take. It's one of the most beautiful piano arrangements I've ever heard, wish I could listen to it uninterrupted. Thank you!
ОтветитьTop Video. Thank's
Greetings from Austria
I don't think calling something a "sus2" is really accurate. In the case of a "sus4" the 4 can resolve to the third, which is harmonically useful. In the "sus2" where does the 2 resolve to? I prefer to call that chord an "add2" so there's no expectation that the 2 has the potential to resolve somewhere. A real nit, but that's how i pick. 😇
ОтветитьYou're a great teacher and player. 🔥👍🏾👏🏾 New sub.
ОтветитьMy lane I play these chords a lot depending on if I can fit it in a song
ОтветитьLove hearing the theory talk. I’ve been so removed from it since leaving school. I’ve felt like I need some new voicings for a while. Believe it or not, I’ve listened to this a few times already.
ОтветитьBro your lessons are crazy. I love you chord voicings and tutorials. But please can u do a video with open studio piano. Their tutorials are awesome too
ОтветитьJust finished my finals and I get this gift. Noah you're the man!
ОтветитьSinging Eb2 down there is impressive! G2 is usually about my limit.
ОтветитьThank you Noah,
It's been some years since I first subscribed, and your videos have been "instrumental" in my progress.
