Imagine France lose the Hundred years War and ruled by a English Monarch.
ОтветитьAs English king where descendant of French kings, it is more a French civil war between France and France than between UK and France
ОтветитьWho would win?
Schizo French Royals and Generals, or Clueless British Nobles.
Even the title is wrong. The real title is The 100 years war : a franco-french dispute. Or: Western vs Eastern France. Or: Plantagenet dynasty vs Valois dynasty in a pinch. In brief it was a civil/succession war between angry cousins. All protagonists come from France regions, being culturally, ethnically, linguistically french hybrids. No english/anglo saxons involved in there: Anglo-saxons hated the Plantagenets (angevine rulers of England), who were successors of William of Normandy, so they certainly weren't going to help them against the Valois.
ОтветитьEngland was ruled by French political establishments throughout its history. The Angevin Empire ruled England from France.
ОтветитьIreland wasnt annexed until the early 1500s.
ОтветитьThe way you say REIMS…
You anglophones please learn some prononciations in other langage when speaking about their history and geography
Britishes always weak against france !
ОтветитьFight to long time
ОтветитьWhy do you keep putting v6 after Phillip to represent the sixth? V6 literally means, 5,6. Accuracy is particularly important for history documentaries.
ОтветитьMapped history of Poland when? :) :) :)
Ответитьgreat video and i didnt realise how much joan of arc really entered at a pivotal time in french history i understand why she is venerated so much
ОтветитьTh black prince goes so fucking hard as a name
ОтветитьThey were both french its just dumb English nationalism that made us call our french Normans instead of the French they were.
ОтветитьWhen does the UK get Calais back ?
ОтветитьVery pretty video, but what about sources and attribution?
There is very AI-looking art in this video and no attribution.
There are no sources in the description.
Imagine england has conquered all of france before starting its empire
ОтветитьThe French outnumered England 2 to 1 and still lost 70% of the battles. Brits loved to fight so much they fought themselves when they ran out of french targets
ОтветитьFrance has a male only succession, so realistically the English had no claim
ОтветитьIn other words, a substantial part of western France rightfully belonged to these "English" kings, the Plantagenets, as they were actually "French" and still owned their lands and domains in western France even after taking the English throne. So England was ripped off !
I suppose most of these battles –at least in the first part of the 100-year-War– were fought in French language as well ah ah.
Eventually, all these male lords of war fought for nothing, winning what they lost, losing what they won over and over again until the continental side conjured up a young female shepherd to make a decisive difference. It sounds like a good fiction tale.
Has that war ever really ended though ? Recently, the English have been trying to reconquer the Dordogne county, imposing tea at 11 and bent bananas. "Jeanne ! Au secours !"
Game of reality
Ответитьreally not happy with the amount of ai-generated images used in a historical video. seems misinformative and lazy
ОтветитьKeep in mind that these people are our ancestors
ОтветитьThe AI really ruins this video
Ответитьthe capetian dynsty didnt stop to exist. Just another branch of it took the crown
ОтветитьCHARLES 7 LE VICTORIEUX💯
Ответитьyes the english claim the throne does the have enough shit paper like the last queen when they are sitting on it and crap
ОтветитьGreat video!!
Ответить1328 Brittany was an independant duchy until 1532!
ОтветитьAwful a.i. images
ОтветитьI’m new to this history so hearing names like John the good, and then Charles the bad being introduced is so fucking funny. Charles the bad rlly just a menace out here.
ОтветитьAlso there was a plague
ОтветитьThe war had nothing to do with Edward III's claim to the French throne; he only did this after the French started the war by attempting to conquer England, in alliance with the lickspittle Scots. A good parallel would be WWI; during the war the French aimed to regain Alsace-Lorraine, but this war-aim only arose following the German invasion. It would be ridiculous to claim that something which happened later in time could cause events that happened beforehand.
ОтветитьTak kurwa
ОтветитьMany british folks still believe England won the war, also the English monarchs kept calling themsleves Kings of England AND France until 1800 or something ...tell me about being delusional.
ОтветитьEngland still owns the French islands of Jersey and Guernsey, which are powered by gas and electricity from France, as colonies. France is still a colony of England even in 2025.
Ответить@EnglandVersus You won one battle and one treaty, dude ! that's what you won. Congrats, your king could sit his dirty ass on the throne of France for approximately 12 minutes before being completely wiped out. You got your asses properly kicked in Orléans, Patay, Normandy, Formigny, Castillon & Bordeaux before you decided you finally had enough. Do you think that was England's objective to being crushed by France in the 1430s and 1450s after one battle won ?
England thought they had a legitimate claim to the Throne of France and declared war on France to sustain that claim. All they got is a spanking, a one way ticket back to their island, a civil war and NO FRANCE (although for the record the plantagenests did hold some french territories at the beginning of the war, they'd lost everything by the end of it, a complete disaster).
At the end of the day, the one and only country that got colonized by the other is England. And you've got lovely national mottos to remind you that every single day in case smart kids like yourself forgot : "Honni soit qui mal y pense" ! "Dieu et mon Droit" ! I know it hurts to realize those are neither Latin, nor german or chinese ... they're 100% pure french in the loving memory of all the generations of french princes who ruled England.
As Georges Clemenceau said: England is just a french colony that turned upside down !
However ...
ОтветитьI'm more concerned about fresh water and air.
Blood has a tendency to cling for power and control.
I hope this makes sense and peace.😊
More like sibling rivalry for whatever.
ОтветитьSounds more like 100 years of French civil war ... with Special appearance by brit s
ОтветитьSiblings be like 😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьCurious, has there ever been a time when a French lead navy defeated an English (or British) one?
ОтветитьWhat crustáceos meaning
ОтветитьImagine if Henry 3rd was named king of France...
Ответитьso, the English razed the land they wanted to claim but, why?
ОтветитьAll that death and destruction for ZERO change in borders.. That is the most interesting/sad part of this war.
