I am a older black woman born and raised in MS. Throughput my 70 + years, white men have been attracted to me. When my high school integrated in 1970, there were serveral white boys flirting with me. I did end up for a short time with one before being shipped off to Vietnam. However, this attraxtion has not ended at my age.🩷

I have never heard you before, so my comment may or may not be helpful. Sometimes, our collective experiences with growing attractions is progressive rather than isolated. What you find appealing in your past interactions with someone is used as a building block for future desires. The starring is a common way of collecting as much information about the unknown from a distance when interest is sparked. Black women often have to develop in isolation and introspection. We don't experience the same protective displays from strangers that other women may automatically expect or are accustomed to. Usually men, as an example, have to actually interact with us before they try to form a connection worth further pursuit. Often, if we don't present well initially on contact, we have lost future prospects with that individual. Nothing is especially wrong with that, but it does put a lot of pressure on black women to shine all the time.

Love doesn’t see color. I lived decades thanking and praising God for the man he guided me to as child. We loved and lived what was something I cherished from day one of our teens to seniors. We did split bc I thought he was going through a midlife crisis. I felt that death of our marriage. Despite that, I’m grateful for the love I felt through this man for most of our adult lives. So young man, look beyond skin color, love doesn’t care.
