It does not matter if its Carl Sagan, Einstein, Newton or any renowned scientists makes such claims. ....like this religion is scientific that religious scriptures are correct.....they would need to prove their claims for the scientific community to accept it.
Because we dont believe in the scientists, we experiment and verify their proofs and claims and accept it, if it fails we reject those hypothesis and move on.
