What a great video and I'm only a couple minutes in! Thank you for sharing and for reminding us that we don't have to blow our budget to make our kids happy on Christmas!... Remembering the reason for the season is all we need to do! :)
ОтветитьIn terms of hiding the gifts, when we got snoopy my mom started wrapping them early and she used a code system. So we never knew the code, but we spent the whole time leading up to Christmas trying to figure it out. We would guess on Christmas morning and find out if we were right or not. It was a fun way to keep things a surprise, and some fun for us in the investigation we did to come up with our best guess. 😂
ОтветитьThank you, thank you, thank you!!! I appreciate your gift ideas and confidence in keeping it "simple"! You have helped reduce some self-imposed stress and now I'm excited for Christmas again! I going to round up our Christmas items and make a "December box" so we're ready for Thursday...my kids will love it! Merry Christmas 🎄✨️🎄🎁
ОтветитьI love your minimalist gift guide. We moved across the country last year and our Christmas was excessive. Family sent so much stuff on top of what I bought. This year, my “minimalism” is 10 gifts each and 2 combined gifts. Family is limited on what they can send. We got a tonie box so I hope they will just send little tonie figures.
ОтветитьLook for the Joan Steiner books, they are fascinating and inspiring
ОтветитьHide gifts in your car trunk? With a close friend?
ОтветитьFind it funny that you think it’s hilarious buying Christmas gifts for your cats lol, we buy our gerbils presents and made them stockings
ОтветитьI love art for kids hub.
ОтветитьI started doing the Christmas box a few years ago because you inspired me. I also do a bunch of consumables like chocolate advent calendars, a gingerbread village kit, and some melting snowmen hot chocolate bombs from Trader Joe’s.
Ответить❤
ОтветитьWe do the same thing! Every child gets a lego set (they are the best toy!) That's usually their main gift and then a couple smaller gifts.
ОтветитьI know you’ve clearly already bought your gifts but I just had to let you know that Aldi has Minecraft Lego’s for $9.99 right now! In case you wanna give them an extra surprise 😜 also frozen too if Hailey is into that! (I’m so sorry I’m not sure how you spell her name) ❤
ОтветитьI would LOVE for you to make a Minecraft 101 video for us clueless parents! Minecraft is a big part of our homeschool curriculum and my girls are obsessed! But I am so confused about the different versions, platforms, mods, ability to play with friends/each other, etc. It’s overwhelming and your videos are so well organized and articulate.
ОтветитьYour boys watch your vlogs, right? How do you prevent them from seeing what you bought them?
ОтветитьI love the December box idea! I might do that next year! We have an 18 month old. So we got a zoo membership and a kids' table and chair set. Then, I made him an alphabet set out of fabric and quilt batting.
ОтветитьI love the December box idea! There are so many Christmas-specific items I’ve seen in the stores that I’d love to buy but always think, “Christmas will be over by the time my kids get these gifts”. That’s a great way to get them into the Christmas spirit and build anticipation for Christmas Day! My girls are still little, 2 and 3 weeks, so I have their whole lives still to come up with fun things like that!
ОтветитьLove this! Super helpful for my older two. Now just gotta tweak for my baby 💓
ОтветитьWe love thrifted gifts! I got a trampoline off Facebook Marketplace for so much less and it is basically new. That will be for my daughter's birthday next week. I found a huge set of Hatchimals at a consignment shop for a very reasonable price, which she will love! I also got her a Barbie set she's been eyeing and a stuffed animal. Still looking for a good heavy winter coat for her for a reasonable price.
ОтветитьWe don't do the December box, but on St. Nicholas' Feast Day (December 6th) we give our kids a lot of those items.
ОтветитьLoved this video!! Also love your sweater ❤️❤️ I’m biased because I have it too 😂
ОтветитьNatalie, if you are ever looking for more STEM games/activities, please check out Upper Story. My cousin and her husband have created 2 STEM games/activities that are being sold in many different countries. They cover a wide variety of ages child - adult. 😊
ОтветитьMy daughter loves to open a gift and play with it immediately. She rarely tosses it aside and wonders what is coming next. I don't want to force her into that mindset by giving her a ton of gifts that she has to open all at once, so we do a bit of a progressive Christmas throughout the 12 days of Christmas!
ОтветитьI have a son named Judah as well. Just stumbled upon your channel and am now binging
ОтветитьMy daughter had that sewing kit and loved it.
Thanks for the nerf gun target idea. I'm going to have the kids try that with their drones. So much better than shooting each other.
I like your personalized jingle. We just do 3 gifts for our kids because Jesus got 3. No cute rhyme, but it works for us. Their gifts are usually some things they ask for and a "big surprise". Their stocking stuffers are usually books and/or items they need.
ОтветитьI love the idea of giving the their Christmas jammies early! We usually do it christmas Eve but then they are out of season sooner
ОтветитьThis is the only gift round up that I’ve ever seen that makes me feel peaceful and content. I have a similar pile for each of my three kids. I was avoiding watching gift round ups because I was feeling either like I’d gotten too much or too little but this reassured me that my intentional little piles are just right for our family ❤️
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video. Your wisdom will help me immensely! I’ve been stressing out about gifts and shopping all week and after watching this I feel prepared with a plan and much less anxious.
ОтветитьMy mom hid our gifts at her parents home, the tv, the spare tire space in the car, and her work 😂
ОтветитьThis is my first time watching you and I’m forever grateful for your video. I can’t wait to put these into practice next year with my three girls. I can’t wait to watch the rest of your videos.
ОтветитьWell done Natalie, you are the first person to mention "Jesus" and that perfect gift of love that he represents.
ОтветитьWhat kind of SUV are you driving now? Do you like it? We're thinking of upgrading our suv size soon
ОтветитьYes Natalie yes
ОтветитьThis whole video I was trying to figure out who you remind me of. It’s Winona Ryder
ОтветитьLol we moved across Canada so I had to buy a crate for our dog, we still have the crate in our basement back room (our dog doesn't use it) I hid all gifts inside it 😅 it's been perfect hahaha
ОтветитьLove this! Does Santa give your children gifts separate from you and hubby? I'm not on Instagram, but I would LOVE to see the kitties!
ОтветитьMy teenagers still requested Christmas pyjamas this year.
ОтветитьYou did a GREAT job choosing gifts!!!! Fun video!!!!
ОтветитьAbsolutely love your videos ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
ОтветитьLego is diff under our tree too :)
ОтветитьDo u wrap their gifts ??
ОтветитьI loved this video, I get the feeling that lost of people tend to give big piles of presents and I like your way way beter. I use a 5 gifts rule and 3 small gifts in the stocking (stocking is from Santa, under the tree are oud gifts), and I already wonder is it isn’t too much.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing and giving me some ideas to do with my family trying to live a minimalist life.
ОтветитьI love this video Natalie. Sending love and prayers to you and your family. I appreciate you❤️
ОтветитьThe real reason of Christmas is Jesus birth. I love Jesus
ОтветитьI’ve been wanting a new tradition to start with my kids so I’m thrilled to find the “December box” idea. This is the kinda thing I’ve been looking for. Thank you!
ОтветитьGreat video!!! I love your Christmas gift categories!!! We do a Christmas Kickoff box. It has Christmas Pajamas, a Christmas ornament, a Christmas decoration, a Christmas movie, a Christmas book, and some treats. We sometimes do a Christmas mug, too. That's when we put up our Christmas tree and decorate it, along with decorating the house. We have cookies and hot chocolate that night, too. We also get take-out for dinner. We don't do food in our stockings, but we have a reusable Christmas bag with snacks and goodies in them instead on Christmas Eve. We do put some novelty candy in stockings like Pez dispensers, Kinder Eggs, candy filled toys, etc.
ОтветитьThank you so so so much. I’ve been stressing due to our lower Christmas budget this year, but this is doable. I love that sensory kit you got your son, I’m going to get my daughter one 😊. My daughter is neurodivergent too and loves sensory stuff. Also some of those flying disk things cause ours broke recently and they loved it. Also my youngest would love drawing supplies. This video has me thinking about their personalities and what they’d like. You literally just basically gave me a shopping list lol. I’ll personalize it a little though 😂.
ОтветитьI actually love how much thought went into your present buying..love that it isnt over the top and its what they want :)
ОтветитьI love this! Perfect and thoughtful gifts.
