Elden Ring Lore | Goldmask and the Golden Order

very good kind of came to same conclusion, I actually like gold mask better than the others.... Rani ends bring a completely new "god" or "order" without the Erdtree and or the Elden Ring, that is good for a sequel game but doesn't solve lots of the problems the lands between have.

The Crucible concept was already disliked with Godfrey's Elden Lord's reign. It was even before Godfrey when the Crucible was really revered.

Elden Ring lore is so good and interesting when really gone into.

When Maria tells radagon "thou art yet to become me... yet to become a god," it might mean that they typically trade places cyclically, and she's exerting more control because it's "her turn," but it could also mean that radagon was/is still in the process of being assimilated into Maria's being and role as vassal-god. If this is the case, it suggests that radagon and Marika's unity is a relatively recent thing, and that it takes time to complete. Ranni would then probably have to have been fathered after the process started to be treated as as an empyrian, but before radagon left rennala, implying a divine tryst of sorts.
I hate all the "suggests, probablies, and implyings" though. The rebus stuff needs to be 1% less cryptic! Is a vassal god with a dual nature is abnormal or not? It keeps too many possibilities alive cluttering other parts of the lore and themes.

Goldmask's striving to fix the flaws of the Golden Order for the sake of good is what convinces me that his ending is the best, if not tied for best with Ranni's, for it's effect of healing the wounds caused by the order's flaws.

In the end, the problem with the Golden Order was operator error. Every IT department in the world sympathizes with Goldmask.

One thing I'm curious about are the intersections of Goldmask and Ranni's views about the flaws of the order and the idea that humanity needs to be free from the interference of these beings.

D is not a contradiction. The golden order was in essence perfect prior to the stealing of the rune of death. However maliketh notes the effects of sin, that which is death. They are simply wrong about what they thought was the solution. Death has entered the world once again and restoring the rune of death is only part of the answer.

Goldmask carries no weapons and wears no armor. I don’t think he’s the one who made the Pulley crossbows. Its most likely Miquella, as he is also shown to be a genius crafter with Malenias Arm and legs and the needle.

I thought I understood the story in Elden Ring… then I watched SmoughTown…

Soooo many holes in this plot. If the power of the blackflame was sealed when the Godskin apostols lost, and they "lose their power", why in the hell can they still use black flame incantations? Why can I use blackflame incantations? And if Maliketh is the only one who can bring destined death or a real dead, then why when he killed me 10 times I just was resurrected as always in the site of grace. This lore is full of holes, but yeah, I mean, I still like it.

The one true universal constant is the impermanence of our current perception. From the instant we're born, to the moment we die, the heart of every lesson we learn is that whatever we thought we knew, turned out to not be the complete, final picture. Goldmask wonderfully embodies the IQ bell curve of this.
It's such a seemingly simple concept at first, yet countless midwits - would-be 'intellectuals' - fall short at some point and quit progressing in favor of a static, finalized dogma. We see this in both faith and science. The majority cap out, the luminaries keep furthering their ideas.

And the Greater Will hasn’t been heard from in forever. So after all of this Gold Mask was wrong.

Goldmask gets revived as a charred corpse, dons his sexy costume anyways, and solves all of the worlds problems. Best tarnished ever.

Maybe it's on the go, but I would love a deepdive into the two Elden Lords, Godfrey and Radagon, and how Marika came to leave one for the other and "be Radagon". Considering the links with the hornsent in the first place and the war with the Giants in a second ? It feels like there's a lot to unpack here.

Goldmask’s intro slide in the opening cinematic is a reference to Archimedes of Syracuse.

When his city was invaded, soldiers killed the mathematician Archimedes against explicit orders to spare his life, as his brilliance was considered too valuable to be lost.

His final words were apparently “Do not disturb my circles” as the soldiers burst into his home, were he was scrawling diagrams & formulae onto the floor.

Marika just needs to get a little somethin' somethin' instead of having to play "solo". Then, she wouldn't have had to give birth to incest babies.

Since Maliketh holds the rune of true death, I think it’d be cool if any enemy you kill after you take his rune would not respawn. It’d be fun trying to wipe the map of all life. Before heading to take down the final bosses.
