Saw them at the paradise theater in Boston right after "Systems of Romance" was relaesed. For a small venue The sound was close to the recording and the group's performance was fantastic! very energenic. I can still see John Foxx standing there at the begining of " Frozen ones" absolutely still with his arms crossed across his chest clicking his fingers backlit with this blindly bright white light absolute black silhouette.
ОтветитьWhere does this version come from? It sounds very different to the album version and I really like it!
ОтветитьMost influential punk band for the imminent new wave -new romantic movement
ОтветитьThe sampler three into one, best ultravox record!!
ОтветитьKiller synth riff
ОтветитьOne of the greatest albums ever recorded.
Way too good to have ever troubled the pop charts.
🧡 Ultravox!
In my view, their best song by far. I saw them in '79 at the Whiskey with a date. The guitar sound is so harsh and contemporary. Yes, that was 44 years ago and I still have this album!
ОтветитьUtter genius. Saved my life back when
ОтветитьHace 45 años ya se hacía música así de buena.Ahora no hay nada nuevo debajo del sol.🌺🦢🌟
ОтветитьBought this on release. Saw them at The Marquee twice in 78 and Reading that year. Such a great band until Midge Ure and that unbearable 'Vienna' rubbish.
ОтветитьAlbum capolavoro
ОтветитьOne of those rare albums that inspired lots of other musicians to start bands, just full of energy and new directions.
ОтветитьIsn't this 'Ultravox!'?
ОтветитьIST track ,live at Lancaster Uni 78,;Young Savage ,,,anyone there???
ОтветитьIf we have no goal on a spiritual level (we have no plan to return GOD) we could find ourselves in this song, whether we are materially successful , unsuccessful, powerful or powerless.
ОтветитьWho is this man? How does he die every day? And is he related to Mr X? I've been pondering the meaning of this enigmatic lyric since I heard it on the Peel Show in 1978. Someone must know what it means.
ОтветитьGood great FUCKING BRILLIANT MEMORIES!!!@!
ОтветитьPerfect album / Perfect group ! - A french fan
ОтветитьMagnificent!
ОтветитьJohnn Foxx. The quiet man. Everything after him was crap.
Ответитьspooky other wordly new wave
ОтветитьWhat a song !
ОтветитьWhen Ultravox truly became original. Everything about this track is so sinister.
ОтветитьAlong with Magazine they preceded the entire Post Punk synth scene.
ОтветитьUltraFoxx! were true pioneers. UreVox were OK but not exactly standouts in 80s synth-pop. As a matter of fact, kinda sorta Depeche Mode wannabes.
ОтветитьREALLY, at their best!!!
ОтветитьVraiment bien.
Je ne connaissais pas ULTRAVOX version John Foxx.
Great track and Best times!!
Ответитьjust class
ОтветитьFucking excellant.
ОтветитьSo Fuc..... What --"Ultravox" - Thats it Brothers and Sisters -- Greeeeeat Stuff !!!
That first line you wrote.... Just an opinion ....yes a great tune! Great album!! I LOVE EVERY TRACK THEY RECORDED!!! But if they were at their best then shirley never reaching the top 100 singles or albums until Midge shot them to big success!!! Must be a figment of my imagination? lol
The problem is many 70s Vox fans blame Midge for Foxx leaving for some reason? ....Nowt to do with Midge! He just stopped a great band from dying! And gave them the success they deserved!! Also like me!! And a BIG % of 70s Vox fans! We only know of their existence thanks to MIDGE!!!
As for John Foxx! ...he left! He nearly killed the group!!! ....but LOVE everything he did 80s to early 2000s!! ...I lost track a bit after that.
Anyway!! As I'm yabbering! ....Systems Of Romance, a lot of guitar and synth.... much like 80s Ultravox!! After all Midge was in a punk band in the 70s! And played guitar for Thin Lizzy!! It really is just the way they were going anyway with the style of Systems! But fact is...with a more chart friendly voice & image.
ULTRAVOX! Only original with that '!' in the name. All the rest is rubbish.
ОтветитьDisco comprato a 18 anni e ancora oggi dopo quasi 40 anni tra i miei preferiti. Gran gruppo con ! e senza......
ОтветитьClassic to the core
ОтветитьBrilliant -- Ultravox---
ОтветитьI had all 3 records and that's my song
ОтветитьI was 15 y/o living in Miami when this album's cover art hooked me.Then UK became where God lived and was a New Romantic/ Post Punk.
ОтветитьExtraordinarily good ...
ОтветитьThis awed me when it came out. Early Steve Lillywhite production. Oddly the end has a Simon & Garfunkel feel. Just part of the genius.
ОтветитьThis was the best Ultravox line up, with John Foxx.
ОтветитьWow, this is great! Saw them play Reading in the late seventies, amazing.
RIP Conny Plank.
the brilliant Billy Currie
Ответитьway ahead of your time amazing mr foxx ,keep it going, you and the maths ,you are an insperation
ОтветитьIs this version different from the single Rok Rok..?
ОтветитьThis is a remix. Different from the album track. The mighty ARP Odyssey synthesizer!
ОтветитьFantastic!! Ultravox's best album, and one of the best songs on the album!
ОтветитьULTRAVOX JOHN FOXX ARMY SARAJEVO WELLINGTON FL ZLATAN
ОтветитьI can really see why Numan says that the Foxx Ultravox were the blue print of what he did later in 1979. Both Brilliant in my opinion.
