If someone told me, when the year started that I would be setting my pathway into learning how to make films. I would have told them, no stop lying not me, editing, or making videos is not for me. “Now don’t get me tied up” *said in bajan dialect*. I love the feeling when I get a camera in my hand, it gives me the opportunity for others to visually see what I see. But I never thought today, this is what I would be doing.

As I sit here typing, I’m laughing, ……..
See, many of us usually make this mistake & I am also guilty of this. We set out with a plan that we want or would love to create in our lives. We push, we set it up, we fail and then push some more because we are set out on achieving this goal.

But sometimes we are so blinded & caught up in a materialistic mindset. We don’t have the discernment of what God is holding us back from and usually its literally by the collar of our shirts. Saying “no my child, the reason why that pathway isn’t working is because this isn’t where you are supposed to be. I have a better plan for you.” And if you maybe as stubborn as I am, you turn away out of fear of the unknown.

My fear was that I’m not a public speaker, I enjoy being behind the scenes. Most of this occurred from being silent so many times and not confident enough to speak up. The fear of not sounding intelligent enough, the fear of no one understanding how you are feeling, the fear of just looking stupid.

See confidence comes from the father & I didn’t have much interaction with mine which I will share in my upcoming conversations. God has been pushing me to heal from past mistakes and in turn forgive others for theirs. My hope through speaking on topics here that are usually pushed aside within the
#blackcommunity that I also encourage others to also heal and forgive.

Currently, that is where I am on this new path for @boldbyashlee via instagram, not certain what is ahead or which direction it may take me. But I am taking my advice today and doing it “BOLDY”.
As I head on this journey, I hope you do enjoy the stories that I will share here through text posts, online live conversations, or video.
