(ES) El terremoto de Irán-Irak de 2017 fue un evento sísmico devastador que ocurrió el 12 de noviembre de 2017, a las 21:48 horas, hora local. El epicentro se ubicó en la frontera entre Irán e Irak, aproximadamente a 32 kilómetros al sur-suroeste de la ciudad de Halabja, en el Kurdistán iraquí. El terremoto tuvo una magnitud de 7,3 grados en la escala de Richter y una profundidad de 33,9 kilómetros.

El terremoto causó daños masivos en la región, especialmente en la provincia de Kermanshah, en Irán. La ciudad de Sarpol-e Zahab fue la más afectada, con al menos 280 muertos y numerosos edificios derrumbados. En total, se reportaron 630 muertos y más de 8.000 heridos en Irán. The epicenter was located on the Iran–Iraq border, approximately 32 kilometres south-southwest of the city of Halabja in Iraqi Kurdistan. The earthquake had a magnitude of 7.3 on the Richter scale and a depth of 33.9 kilometres.

The earthquake caused massive damage in the region, especially in Kermanshah Province in Iran. The city of Sarpol-e Zahab was the hardest hit, with at least 280 people dead and numerous buildings collapsed. In total, 630 people were reported dead and more than 8,000 injured in Iran. In Iraq, at least eight people were killed and another five hundred injured. The earthquake was also felt in Turkey, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates.

The response to the disaster was swift, with the involvement of Iranian authorities and humanitarian organisations. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei offered his condolences to the victims and urged all official agencies to help those affected. The Iranian Red Crescent and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps sent personnel to support the damaged people and areas. The international community also offered its support, with countries such as Venezuela, Mexico and Pakistan expressing their condolences and offering help.
