Thanks
ОтветитьMy issue is while plug in shore line my BMpro screen shows faults and slides will not work. I have to turn off shore power and disconnect 12 volt to reset system. This happens ever todays or so.
ОтветитьOutstanding video. Might be the second comment on YT that I’ve made in the past 15 years, but what a help this video was 🤙🏻 thank you
ОтветитьDo you have to unhook all the wires from the battery before you charge it or can everything still be hooked up? Do you have to unplug the converter before you charge the battery? My converter is working about half the time. Thanks for the great video.
ОтветитьStill using your videos as reference! Thanks!
ОтветитьMaestro , yo no en cuentro el convectidor de corrien , tengo un bounder chevrolet del 1997
ОтветитьCan an inverter, in my case a magnum, contain the converter. I cannot seem to locate it and I am missing the 12 volts to trigger the breakers. Thank you
ОтветитьInteresting and helpful video. I am mechanically inclined but electrical, I am a pure r3tard. My new to me 2002 camper keeps randomly tripping either the AC, or occasionally the main breaker. Previous owner said the battery might need replaced (red flag one) and my water pump will not actuate (red flag two).
Ответитьwhat causes these to go bad? and is it usually an issue with the converter or is it more common for an outside per say that causes it the converter to go bad
ОтветитьOutstanding video!!
ОтветитьWould it be a problem to mount the new converter right near the battery bank?
ОтветитьImagine that converter being mounted in that position and all of the components ate now with a horizontal orientation on the circuit board. DC power going to it almost constantly. Creating heat inside an almost sealed compartment. With a tiny little fan that is almost useless . Because that converter is a box inside another box. Just circulating heat. Now imagine driving for hundreds of miles across the great U.S Federal and State highways with almost zero BUMPS, BUMPING UP AND DOWN FOR SEVERAL MILES. Capacitors are going to be jerking constantly. The components inside that converter are going to suffer great loss. That panel board needs a right angle bracket on top and that converter needs to be mounted down. The converters are still trash but I think it would help it last way longer.
ОтветитьI’d almost bet 95% because I can’t see the inside of that converter that 100% of those converters he takes out. Look brand new and he just replaces a small fuse and or a capacitor or two inside for less than $10 and the little bit of labor desoldering and soldering the new one(s). Just a cheaply made converter. If you have a marine, deep cycle battery with a crappy charging system you’re just going to keep having issues.
ОтветитьMy box/floor fan ramps up randomly and so does the Portable AC - I got a new shore power cord, new surge protector but it still does it. Could my convertor be going bad? Surge protector and meter show the shore pole is correct but the meter shows drops and spikes at the breaker box.
please let me know your thoughts, love your videos.
I have a 2015 Keystone Raptor 5th wheel and I have not found the converter yet.. !!!
ОтветитьUpgrading to a lithium charger. Pulled RV cover ( winter over?), heard beeping found battery's dead, no converter output.
Upgrading to 4 guage wire to converter and DC distribution panel. The converter is a 75 amp charger.
My dististribution board says 15 amps max from the charger, I believe it is because of the printed ckt runs. That's all they can handle. Still in progress will be great when complete. Added 2 ckt breakers 1 for just the converter. The 2nd will be for an inverter manual transferr switch. Running romex to my inverter to feed the AC buss.
Smaller older trailer and have done many repairs and upgrades to it. Solar is 380 watts, RV fridge I litterly converted absorbing to 12 volt freon compressor. Would be great if a higher current 12 distribution board was available. Watching channel for ideas and always learning. Great job, good video.
I get a constant low hum from my converter, but the hum will periodically (often) get really loud.
ОтветитьI believe this was the absolute best of the repair/test videos I’ve seen in a few hrs of watching on my issue. I am certain that I’ll able to identify my issue. Thank you for putting this content out.
Ответитьgreat lesson. however my issue is that everything on the 12v system keeps fading out and the low voltage alarms start beeping. the lights dim and flicker, thermostat display fades out and heater shuts off, the gas leak sensor and the carbon monoxide sensor start beeping low voltage. batteries are charging but only at 11v. does this sound like a converter issue?
ОтветитьHow much did you pay for the converter and what is the model?
Ответитьgood one because I discovered today my converter was not working and removed it to test again on my workbench. Zero DC output? what was interesting is you showing to test the continuity reading with the amp meter. will try that but my converter wasn't popping the breaker just no charging my batteries when on shore power. going to order a new converter for it. Oh, and I checked the two 35 fuses.
ОтветитьI have literally been sitting here messing with my rv for HOURS!!! I feel I absolutely have a dead converter, however being where I am, I am an hour or more from an rv repair place and nobody will come to me, and I am on vacation mode not wanting to drive down and get the parts to do it myself. You said ONE WORD and saved my ENTIRE trip! JUMPER CABLES FROM MY TRUCK! Turns out I had a set. Didn’t even cross my mind. Charging batteries right now… will fix when I get back to reality. THANK YOU!!
ОтветитьYou do a real good job of explaining every step of the process. Good job.
ОтветитьGreat video! Thank You,
ОтветитьI really appreciated this video. Now. If I can find my converter I will understand what to check. If not I will have to see you.
ОтветитьI needed this video. Thanks
ОтветитьMy converter shows that it is powering my battery 13.6. When I check the cables going to the battery they have 0 power to them. I checked the 40 amp fuse on the converter was good all good. Everything works except the batteries won't charge. 2020rpod so a basically a new converter Any info would help. Thanks
ОтветитьGreat video. I feel confident about replacing the converter but before i do just want to make sure it's the issue. Shore power and generator are not charging the house batteries but I checked the voltage on the converter and the meter reads 11.80 si i am confused whether or not is the converter. All fuses are good and none of the breakers are tripped. Any thoughts or suggestions?
ОтветитьHi, Please tell me where I can get fuses for my Iota 45 converter. Thank you for this video, I am afraid to plug in without fuses in case I wreck something.
ОтветитьAwesome
ОтветитьSo I've watched a couple of your converter videos, and the one thing you don't do is check the wires on the outside that come into the converter to see if there is something going on there, because there are manual breakers on the outside/under the RV and sometimes that needs to just be reset, or there is a bad connection somewhere.
ОтветитьThank You Derick, from Michigan 9-21-23 You make it easy to understand and fix
ОтветитьThanks for the video!
Ответитьwhat was that black rectangle box right below converter that you calld ‘this👉‘?🤔. btw., fyi, IF a battery is low, the charging voltage can be super duper low(not just super - DUPER!).. on low batteries, voltage is super low, & amps super high, & as battery charges, those high/lows reverse in tandem. IO, voltage alone can be deceiving test for charge functionally. & anothr thing, you said you go through converters every couple months?, Iv had same converter in camper for AT LEAST 12 years.. perhaps something in wiring has run amuk? like 4 1 thing, colors white & black are reversed for 12 & 110 circuits. actually on 110, in US, usually, white is neutral(black+ red -), but on 12 circuits red/white+, black -. the reason for this I’m guesscing, is someone screwed up ROYALLY
ОтветитьAwesome video thanks my friend
Ответитьthank you
ОтветитьNo testing of it? Just replace it ? C'mon man.
ОтветитьI am a Fan
ОтветитьI have a question if you could help me please I just switched over to 200 amp lithium batteries two of them before I head for lead acid battery 70 5 AM each. Can you recommend a converter compatible with lithium batteries and how many amps that controller should I get Thank you.
ОтветитьNice thanks god bless
ОтветитьWhat would cause both 30A spade fuses to blow ON the converter once battery is connected?
ОтветитьDo you come to or near mccord AFB?
ОтветитьGreat video and very helpful information. My Jayco KB 1207 is a 1997 model and I'm pretty sure my converter is bad. But this definitely made it sound like it isn't the end of the world and is pretty easy to replace.
ОтветитьDoes it matter which converter you install in your camper? I have a 2012 Winnebago One
ОтветитьDoes anyone make a video for a Winnebago motorhome converter? It’s so frustrating to try to find anything for this rig! I’m in tears over this thing
ОтветитьVery good video
ОтветитьVery good video informative! Liked it a lot! Learned something from it.
ОтветитьWow wished you lived closer
ОтветитьI have lost 1 leg of power to my breaker box. Shore power both sides work. No power to the fireplace, microwave, bedroom. A/C, washer dryer hookup and bathroom GFCI plug. Any suggestions on what to look for. 2017 Jayco Pinnacle 36kpts.
