Funnily enough, this liminal space thing just reminds me of testing procedural generation algorithms. Haven't quite tweaked the values quite right yet. The dungeon feels a bit too random. Mix into this something non-euclidean, or have invisible portals though, and it could be really unsettling to explore.

ОтветитьGames that depict the backrooms like this is why I fell in love with the backrooms. Remember when it first came a thing. You were stuck in the original back rooms. And there was a thing that was running around. You knew it was there, but did not know if it was watching you or following you. You hardly interacted with it. That’s what made it scary. Now it’s all levels and all these different entities.

ОтветитьThis is the type of game that I would KILL to have a real life equivalent of. Imagine a large scale building/experience like this? I know it would cost SO much money to build and maintain, but just imagine walking through corridors and wading through pools for hours, the slap of each footstep reverberating against the walls. Seeing a dark, flooded corridor and wading in knee deep water into the emptiness, the reverberating splashes of each stride overwhelming your desperate ear; hoping to verify you're really alone. Running your fingers along the tile to keep your bearings in the nothing.

Every time we walk through a pool and look down, I have a moment of submechanophobia while imagining lights and cables, and / or ancient mechanisms underwater that can snag me or pop up randomly. 😬😬😬

ОтветитьWhat a gorgeously unsettling game this is. It made me think deeply about fear.
For me, the snake is totally out of place. Liminal spaces are scary. Period. The fear of being eaten is nothing compared to the fear of being stuck in a ballpit where the only way out is a playground-slide into the abyss.

Ответитьthe playrooms reminds me of one time i was in a wee resturant with parents and siblings were there but i was in the play area by myself, it had such a very daunting feeling. the place looked bigger than usual and panic started to set in to the point of just freezing.
