10 Reasons The Sony A7iv Is Better Than The Blackmagic Pocket 6K Pro | Part 1

Great vid and interesting points. My only issue with Sony is the output still looks over sharpened and a bit crunchy. When I see a blind test, I can always pick out the Sony. It still has that video look and the Black Magic just looks like film out of the gate. For corporate, interviews and wedding stuff that hardly matters, in fact its probably a plus. But for stuff like short films and narrative work, its Black Magic all the way.

Sold my blackmagic 6k to get a a7iv and I'm very happy with my choice. Blackmagic only strength is the image quality. But a7iv is 7k down sampled to 4K so it's technically better on paper. But overall a7iv way more features and easiest camera I ever used. Fun to shoot with!

Really different animals. A7iv and Canon R6 are more going after the same things while BMPCC going after those who focus on IQ at the expense of almost everything else.

I wonder you saying Canon has much better viewfinders than Sony. In rear screen LCD that's definitely true but in viewfinder, numbers at least tell another story! Are you sure about it?

Blackmagic has way better image quality and this is the most important point for me and I also love the creative approach you have with it.

Very friendly content, I believe that not even a camera can be recommended without knowing the professional's profile, so I will leave my comment for a specific group of people.
You should choose BMPCC over Sony because:
1 - Black Magic has a much better rolling shutter at 24fps, Sony shakes, distorts a lot.
2 - Black Magic has a large monitor, without needing to hang another
3 - Raw codec for color grading
4 - Quick menu - there will be no videos like Sony that take 1 hour and 30 minutes to navigate through the menu.
5 - audio
6 - does not have the h265 codec which is the worst for the computer
7 - cheaper lenses
8 - anamorphic desqueeze
9 - softer, filmic texture. Not extremely sharp
10 - Davind Resolve
11 - shutter angle
12 - web cam for clients meeting, just need a cable
13 - false color
14 - more Highlight Rolloff
15 - does not heat up and turns off
16 - Very fast and high quality CodecProres

I don’t think that’s a fair contest….a7iv is an amazing hybrid camera…Blackmagic 6k pro is a legend for its image quality at this price range , while it lacks ibis and AF….two completely different cameras, the one is the Swiss army knife of cameras and the other is a cinema camera….you can’t
compare apples to oranges!
