Great tutorial, thank you for your advices! Many of us really appreciate 🙏 May God bless you 🌻
ОтветитьThank you for sharing your tips! Great ideas!! Think I will get cloth labels too! 😁
ОтветитьI try to make handmade for family for birthday gifts each year. I go with a theme. That way I can start ahead and work on events coming up. This year I am doing shopping bags. I was given fabric from an estate. Totes and totes of it.😊 I make up four shopping bags then a smaller zip bag with a wristlet strap that they all fit into. The shopping bags each roll up and have an elastic band sewn into the top seam between the straps. The elastic secures the rolled bag and they can all be stored nestled in the wristlet. This makes a great birthday gift. I cut out the fabric for each set of bags in batches then bundle them so I don’t loose anything. I sew on and off as I have time. I rarely get to sit down and sew all at once. I homeschool my kiddos and this is my fun outlet. Sewing something a family member will actually use is very fulfilling. 😊
ОтветитьGreat tutorial, I’ve made my own reusable bags they are so useful and save a lot of money. Could you do a tutorial video for a set of Velcro attached shopping bags with wooden handle that fit in the trolley? Can’t find a DIY video for those anywhere.

Thank you so much...I enjoyed you presentation. Am a retired teacher, contemplating doing sewing and this is a great opportunity to start with....Thanks for sharing your sewing skills.
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing this video! I appreciate so much your attention to details when sharing what you do and how you do it! I am excited to follow your example!
ОтветитьI only buy bags with the handles extended and top stitched down to bottom seam. I've had handles tear away at the top.
ОтветитьWhat brand of electric cutter do you use? Love all the things!
ОтветитьI notice a few wrinkles in the fabric. I would iron them out, but you don't?? Is it just a time saver thing?
ОтветитьGreat work,lovely. ❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
ОтветитьThank you so much for your great tutorials. I usually can’t stand American and Australian accents and manner (I’m a Granny in Scotland) but you have a lovely calm manner and way of speaking that is easy to understand and very relaxing. I make bags for charities and I shall definitely absorb and then use these great tips of yours. 🥰 With best wishes, Lynette.
ОтветитьLight and practical, colourful and versatile to snug inside the bicycle basket in front, I've always loved using my totes for handbags instead of the heavier leather ones. Love your beautiful fabrics and great sewing tips esp 😎to the box template for the handle straps!...altho I won't be using this method seeing that I sew mine every now and then. A great tutorial to all the sewing newbies out there!
ОтветитьThank you for the video. It all makes sense.
Do you always use the thicker fabrics?
Thank you Christine for being so generous with your time to video and share with us . Your tips and tricks have saved me heaps of fabric wastage just by how you cut out your pieces. Some people are so cluey, and you are definitely one of them. Your instructions are so easy to follow 👍😀 I just realised that with a one way pattern, I'll have to cut into squares, as the pattern will be upside down on the other side.... still, a great tip if you have plain or geo type fabric.
ОтветитьThankyou for sharing your knowledge, so interesting, this is wonderful
ОтветитьYou’re awesome
ОтветитьSorry to bother you, I love this video, I have a question: What is the best thread for sewing the bags? I want to use a good quality thread, I don't want my seams to rip. Thank you.
ОтветитьHow do you get your reclaimed fabric
ОтветитьHi Christine this is the most useful bag making tutorial I’ve ever seen thank you so much. I bought the material in a charity shop so will make bags up and give them to sell. XXXX
ОтветитьSmart way to generate additional income during down time at your alteration shop. Very, very smart to keep track of your time on all the steps. Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьI'd love to sew to sell, do I have to have labels right away?
ОтветитьHi Christine I had a charity stash yesterday with some beautiful fabric for bags, I hope you understand my next question. When you box the corners say about 2” does that give you a flat bottom of 4” please? I want to try various sizes but I don’t know how much the square bottom affects the height of the bag? Going to try the Butler zip method now because my zips are too bulky. Thank you loads xx
ОтветитьHi Lovely lady. I am sure you’ve said it but what is the size of the bag before you stitch it please. XXXX
ОтветитьWhat wonderful and strong bags, and I REALLY love the efficiency with which you make them. Well done!! (Also, thanks for sharing your system - very kind of you!)
ОтветитьThanks for sharing
ОтветитьGreat tutorial!
ОтветитьThank you very much for your insights.
ОтветитьThank you for the video! Amazing as always. Do I need to wash the upholstery fabric before sewing? I see you didn’t but I’m worried about shrinkage with washing. I’d rather not as it’s easier but will if you think it’s best. Sorry, new to sewing! ❤️
ОтветитьThank you for showing step-by-step how to mass produce. They are so far and few. You also have a great teaching style. Would you please share the measurements on the box template for cutting the straps? thank you
ОтветитьSo impressed with your generosity! You are a born teacher and appreciate all that you share!!! Thank you isn’t enough!!❤
ОтветитьHow do you make your bag flat bottom? Mine bags end up with tapered sides. Thans.
Ответить7/24. I had to subscribe. Enjoyed this presentation. ❤. Best tote bag lesson I have seen!
ОтветитьI love your videos
Ответитьhi Christine, I’m so amazed the great way you saw all those tote bags in just a minutes. I want to start my own bag business in Mexico, trying to help the planet using less plastic bags. You are the top of the top. Thanks for sharing your experience, knowledge and tips, they’re gold for me. THANKD AND GOD MAY BLESS YOU!!!!!1
ОтветитьI'm just getting started on bag making. I've made small totes as gifts and everyone keeps telling me I should sell them. Do you have any suggestions for fabric sources? Our local fabric shops keep closing :( It's getting harder for me to find good fabrics locally.
ОтветитьHi Christine, lovely videos and easy to follow. I learned a lot from you. Could you please do a machine cover and carry bag tutorial? Thank you and keep it up!
ОтветитьI'm curious why you turn the bag before doing the top hemming. Does that make for a cleaner appearance than doing it wrong-side out?
ОтветитьI am very impressed doing well.
ОтветитьThank you very much for sharing your batch sewing process. I'm literally walking to my sewing room to imitate this process😅.
What type of fabric are you using for these bags, and what size sewing needles do i use in my sewing machine and overlocker?. Thank you for the inspiration ❤.
I liked the way you showed how you cut and sew a lot of bags simultaneously. Great. I myself am a stitcher, sew different things and gift them to my near and dear ones and to all. Thanks ❤🙏
ОтветитьAWESOME
ОтветитьWow this is priceless. I’ve been wanting to make simple bags like this for years. I’m just starting to sew again, super excited!

ОтветитьJust found this and how awesome you sharing you hints and tricks. Great products, I hope you always sell out! Thank you!
ОтветитьWhat's the name of the material?
ОтветитьDid you make your pin cushion? If you did do you have a tutorial for it? I love it.
ОтветитьHow much can we sell each bag
ОтветитьYour scissors must be extremely sharp. Where do I get really sharp scissors? We do not have anyone locally who sharpens scissors.
