I probably wouldn't get DaW DE right away. If they add in new campaigned or narrative missions, I will consider it.

Would be great if DOW 3 could be remastered into a DOW game.....

I had a raised eyebrow but the fact that they are making it forward compatible with mods and basically having an improved basis for mods like UA and Unification is actually quite nice. It's like when Valve or Id improved and opened up their old games.

I'd love them to release more content for DoW2. I much preferred the squad based gameplay and not having to worry about base building and there are many more factions to add. Plus the last stand mode was a fun diversion occasionally that could get more expanded too.

Considering this is Games Workshop i shouldn't be surprised if they charge premium price for the remaster. With the really popular mods being paid content.

Unification is by far the most popular mod for DoW these days

Genuinely hoping Relic doesn't do much more than this Definitive Edition, Relic lacks the talent of that period, plus the art design and 40k Rulebook edition has its charm that can't easily be replicated. It's a timepiece more than anything, better to remain authentic than to be something its not.

Sloppy AI upscaled textures that will bloat game to hundrets of gigs is not what I want.
Their lighting improvements will just ruin game atmosphere like those lube covered necrons.
Maybe I cound stand all this if pathfinding would be improved but it seem like that wont be the case.

I say its both they need to get investors so they do the remaster that will be a hit to bring in the money for something new.
Has for mods i normally just play Titanium Wars for Dark Crusade has i can play the SP campaigns with the new units.

A shit overhyped RTS with piss poor to nonexistent balace getting remastered by a shittier version of relic. Only reason anyone cares about it is because its based on 40k. In that case 40k deserves better than this as a franchise. Shame no one exists to provide a better 40k RTS game.

Oh snap! I would commit unspeakable war crimes in several countries for Impossible Creatures remake!

I sort of wish when it comes to soul storm, because soul storm to someone who just played dark crusade would seem like "its dark crusade but more" and sure, except far more tedious.

However this will certainly cause quite a stir with Ultimate Apocalypse as it is a huge overhaul mod, I personally hope Relic doesn't trick new comers by remaking Dark of war 2 and saying "Its dawn of war 2" when it feels less like a sequel and more of a different game unless whoever is handling the game changes the name entirely.

Therefore, with tall that, we can get actual Dawn of war 2, it sort of felt weird as its like playing Halo then Halo 2 comes out and it becomes less of an average shooter, it becomes a extreme tactical squad based shooter.


Oh, and probably we will see the goofy AI of the Eldar again before Winter Assault.

Will they do GTA? I don't want panic buy the orginal.

I don't realy get all the hate in the comments this is a reemaster not a completly New Game the Best in these reemasters are that the multiplayer community Will refresh and expand visuals are not everything and I don't realy expect anything more Than just a bundle with gameplay hud and visuals patches and it feels like some people just lost hope in all modern games and it may be true butt its the worst for reemaster games is when there is no community.

I will reluctantly and optimistically give my money for hope. Also keep my ancient intallation, just in case.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Would like a new game series with warhammer fantasy in a dawn of war rts style seeing as beside the total war stuff there really is not much from the fantasy universe beside really old stuff

They couldn't even upgrade the graphics to match dawn of war 2 texture quality, this is going to be extremely disappointing. How mod integration will work ? Most of the mods will not be working for Definitive edition including Unification mod! So what 's a better reason to buy this game rather than inlcusion of all previous 4 titles in one package which doesN't necessiate seperate installation. Why is it so difficult to make a good warhammer40k game with campaign taking inspiration from books and not being unorthodoX!

I hope it gets the AoE2 treatment!

Hopefully unification mod will be a lot less crash prone when they get it up to date with the remaster

Ultimate apocalypse is not half as good as Unification imo

It s a good start , but boy would it have been awesome if they would have done a full visual upgrade like how we see on oblivion. Top notch graphics would have went really hard

I will get this game just for the slight chance of a DOW 4. At the same time, i think as of now, It is a cash grab, and a toe dipped into the waters to see if they should dive in deeper for DOW 4. They already said they aren't changing anything except the graphics, minor bug fixes, and 64bit mod support. That's it. They also confirmed no discounts for people who already have the games.

Seems like they are just expecting modders to fix all the bugs and balance the game for them. As they have been for many years now.

I would rather have them develop Dawn of War 4 than new content for DoW

Relics screwed Dawn of War 3 , Company of Heroes 3 sucks (single player campaign is a letdown). I dont think remake / remaster dawn of war can save Relics , time to become Relic.

The biggest problem with most old rts games for me is the poor pathfinding, if they fix that up it's worth the money as it instantly makes the game much more playable.
I HATE seeing units get stuck on each other.
If it's the case with squad based troop design it's even more stupid, because there's literal gaps in between units

I'd actually would buy it, simply to collect it and have an easier time running it on modern device.

Unifocation mod has an option to stop squad from reinforcing when out of the base. This alone makes it the better mod.

The game will probably be shadow dropped later this year. My worry is it will be $40US and this looks like a $20. The remaster is like a nice to have but doesn't add much value to the product.
