I just touched the bloody casket twice as Fliss and that skipped the whole balcony/cargo hold reveal and then I killed a 'hooded figure' who apparently was Brad >_<

Was my only death though and seeing that Conrad can actually escape that early and that Brad, well, doesn't have to die I'm tempted to give this one another go. I liked Brad, and it was like as soon as he got the braves to get on board he was dead :/ womp womp.

Also got the ending where Connie kills Olson, we get the cap, we gave the coordinates and the name, we leave on the Duke, the military arrives after and 2 soldiers explore the ship before encountering an alive and deranged Danny, the pirate, who then murks em with Olson's sledgehammer.

Okay FINALLY this story makes a little more sense. I watched three different letsplays of this game and no one found anything about the two-headed monster- I thought it was just thrown into the story for no reason. Still, it felt like it was just sorta all over the place.

This game was horrible. Dialogues were skipped randomly, glitchy scenes where characters didn't appear. Story was ass. The ending I got made no sense. I was The older brother and his fiancée, then I'm the little brother who then meets up with the fiancée and we escape the fire to find the older brother outside already with the Captain... as if he never went in. Like how tf he ends up out there with no explanation?? I shoulve killed everybody.

I heard a different version from a man named Deadbug on what was in those containers in the real life version..and it traces its origins to Unit 731 work in the Second World War. If you do not know what that unit is...just know that the made the works of the Nazi 'doctors of death' look like doctors of life. However...they...did discover useful information such as the effects of Hypothermia on different groups of people...such as how long it took to die. To vastly oversimplify it...they (allegedly) created some NASTY chemical weapons. The Ourang Medan was allegedly transporting said research and chemicals. And Ourang Medan was not it real name (allegedly) but a cover name for when it went out to sea. There is more to it but that is a simplification of it.

it baffled me how we came from this good of a graphic to shitty graphic in the later games. Honestly I dont know why the dev downgrade their game like that.

Given the hidden transportation, it seems that SS Ourang Mudan is a secret plan to deliver the chemical weapon to US so that it could terrorize US and it's people. Fortunately, due to Patterson's curiosity, he was able to stop the transportation.

I watched people play this game and oh my gosh! So infuriating! Except one or two gamers, the rest is like... "Oh what is this zombies? Oh a weapon 🔪 let's pick it up! I might need it! Oh stab? Yes! Stab!" 😒 You never attack first. The curator literally tells you "all that glistens is not gold often have you heard that told" and things are not as they seem. And they go " I dOnT kNoW wHat thAt mEan?"

I've actually never heard of the imprisoned version of the military ending so that's interesting! I've only ever saw them gunning everyone down.

There is a clue you can discover from the caskets one has a two headed skeleton in it that resembles the hallucination Alex sees that turns out to be Fliss. Pearl harbor wasn't as destructive as the Japanese had hoped. Of all the capital ships that were hit and sank I believe only 2 were lost. Arizona due to damage caused by its forward magazine exploding from a direct AP bomb detonation and due to the massive loss of life was left alone as a war grave. Oklahoma was capsized and took allot of time to turn over to its upright position that the war was over, and she sank under tow to shipbreakers. All the others were refloated repaired and served in the war. Some of which either sold for scrap or used for nuclear test at Bikini Atoll. Most of the other vessels counted as a total loss were small support ships and an ex-battleship. One thing the US had that the Japanese didn't account for was really good naval divers that could repair and salvage the sunk ships. Which is what happened.

Wow, I've never seen someone use a rebreather on the guy! Nor in my playthrough nor in someone else's before) In my playthrough I told him we were using the rebreather that;s why we weren't possessed or something) And in my tun Olson got killed by a door in a cargo hold.

That lab in the game is a direct reference to Unit 731, Japanese human experimentation and bio weapon lab from WW2 led by Shiro Ishi (basically Japanese Josef Mengle).

SS is short for steamship as it is a steam powered ship. SV is the abbreviation for sailing vessels, and as its name would suggest, is powered by wind/sails.

Thanks for the videos. I don't have time or the patience to go through all of the games multiple times to discover everything, but I feel I miss a lot of the story if I don't so your videos are extremely helpful.👍

I had the lamest story, all 5 went to the boat we got the distributor cap and left.

this game tends to get put down a little bit compared to the other entries in this series, but i would say the only flaw with this game is the length. i wish it could've been a bit longer,
but in fairness to them, this game was meant to be an introduction to the Dark Pictures series. Little Hope is where the series really started taking off, then you had House of Ashes and the Devil in Me which is my personal favorite. but this game was alright, some parts remind me a little bit of Until Dawn, the atmosphere is what im mainly referring to.
some people didn't like the characters as much in this, i don't know i liked Fliss, i think she along with Conrad were the strongest characters. Alex and his girlfriend were hit and miss with me at times,
the whole proposing underwater was a bit much. of course there is an option that sort of turns there relationship into friend zone, but in order to get that option you have to take Brad's advice about waiting rather than say go for it. i made that mistake in Little Hope with Taylor and what's his name, i picked the line that says he's not my boyfriend. i didn't know that they were together, so when he talks to her after that exchange he brings it up.
but in Man of Medan they sort of introduce them as a couple, but they didn't come across that way at times. he had a surprise ring, so obviously they had to of been seeing each other for some time for him to think of marrying her. then there's Brad, i feel like he doesn't quit fit, but when you look at him, he looks like the type that would somehow survive.
the hallucinations i think added an interesting element to the game, but we saw that there was more to it than that. it took them awhile to figure out that green mist is what's wrong with the place, but there's nothing worse than seeing a person's own fears and demons come to life.

These experiments seem kind of dumb.

I'm disappointed because the game isn't as good as Until Dawn which I just finished that day. And I let Conrad escape on the speedboat and didn't encounter any hallucinations makes the game feels so short and empty.

A game can be so bad but thats if you didnt play it right, now that its all explained it makes the story and the game alot better and thrilling.

I think the story could have work out better if the characters never figure out that it was all due to a bioweapon, and left the boat believing that it was actually haunted. Letting us the players deduce that by hints throughout the gameplay. Because at the point Fliss mentions "oh, it's all hallucinations" then all the treats loss their danger.

We escaped and the army chopper showed up with two guys who got sledgehammered by the asian dude from the hijackers

This would have made such a good horror movie

Thanks for making me realize i learned absolutely nothing about the story going on watching RTgames and others do an "all bad choices runs" ! Hilarious run, but I didnt realize how in depth all the dark pictures anthology is! 😂

This game had so much wasted potential

Having seen the trailer for season 2, I have a wild theory. What is the Manchurian Gold was not made at the water treatment facility, but only being studied there, after it was discovered in a meteorite? Then, what if the same substance is causing the hallucinations that lead to the events of the next story (which is in space)?

There’s an ending for Conrad where he dies in the speed boat

I just played this game recently, I actually like the ending twist. But the game would have been way scarier with more diving segments and more horrifying undewater sections.

The thing that doesn't make any sense is that the B-29 got shot down, if the AA Gunner is outside manning the 50. Cals wouldn't that mean that he is no longer under the affects?
