If you've never been, The South is really cool. The food and the people are for the most part super great. My favorite is South Carolina! :)
ОтветитьRachel: (explains that the turning right on a red light thing was cause of an oil crisis)
Me: 👁👄👁
A lot of fast food places actually have significantly bigger soft drink sizes than McDonald's.

ОтветитьI would LOVE an updated version of this video, especially post-COVID (I know we're not post-COVID yet, but something for the future?) A lot has changed in the last few years, and I think we all could use an outside view on the US, especially with Rachel's commentary--and I don't mean politically. It'd just be nice to get an apolitical perspective on, like, big-ass roads, or how far apart things are, or Target, or clothing differences.
I live in the pacific northwest, and Jun's comments about squirrels made me smile because I live in the middle of a decently large city, and I'm still a. ten minutes away from like six different legit forests and b. surrounded by deer and rabbits, both of which give NO shits about cars or large dogs or whether or not they're in the middle of a very large intersection.
Yards actually have an interesting history.
ОтветитьYou've GOT to see the Grand Canyon!
ОтветитьReminds me of how the US base in Misawa would get Japanese sightseers—they’d get off the tour bus with their little cameras in complete awe of everything like they’re in Disneyland lol. Then they’d ALWAYS go get some American pizza lol.
ОтветитьHuh, this was interesting to me as an Australian viewer, I was expecting to have more in common with America as a western country but it was pretty much straight down the middle. I like squirrels when I go overseas too. They're so cute.

ОтветитьSending love and light to both people...🥰
ОтветитьThe brightly coloured artificial flavours are cancer causing
ОтветитьA lot of these things were the same for me moving from the U.K. to Vancouver. The first time someone turned their car on a red light I got scared, and the lack of ceiling lights really confused me
ОтветитьYou guys are just the cutest. 💗
ОтветитьThe two of you are just adorable.
ОтветитьDid Jun hear about HOA? :-D
ОтветитьThat lock thing is strange my doors are like the Japanese ones
ОтветитьYou're such a lovely couple, glad I've stumbled upon your channel. Such interesting observations.
ОтветитьCar inspection happens here in Washington
ОтветитьRaku and Chitoge real life version
ОтветитьOf course those huge cups are filled with ice.
ОтветитьWhat to look for in America next time you visit? National parks like Yosemite, Rocky Mountain, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon & especially Yellowstone which is the most exotic. And now you have me wondering why we have squirrels in urban areas in the US and Japan doesn't.
ОтветитьDifferent states have different car inspection laws, so you’re right, it does depend on the area! A few states don’t require any inspection at all so maybe that’s why she never heard of it.
ОтветитьFor what it's worth, the legality of turning right on red depends on what state you are in.
ОтветитьI agree with Jun about the door lock being installed backwards - it’s not American way as far as I know
ОтветитьThey call it the California roll it's illegal in most states
ОтветитьWe had an exchange student from Japan one summer and he loved building a camp fire and cooking hot dogs on it and s'mores.
ОтветитьInterestingly most states on the East Coast require car inspections pretty frequently actually. As for the gun thing, even flashing your gun or pulling your clothes tight over it to indicate you're carrying unless you're like in immediate danger is brandishing and is a severe felony. In some states you can't even brandish if you're being beat up or mugged.
ОтветитьNortheast have yearly car inspections.
ОтветитьI live in FL and we have a LOT of old Snowbirds from up north that don't seem to have any driving skills left yet they insist on going on the roads...in RUSH HOUR and driving in the left lane at 35 miles per hour...below the speed limit and refuse to move over! Luckily FL passed a law that you can get a ticket for not moving out of the left lane to let another driver pass!! It causes road rage!! Police know this!! They want a smooth flow of traffic and if that flow is a few mph over the limit so be it! Oh and if you don't turn on red when it's safe to do so you will get honked at!! I hate those slow, hesitant drivers that are too scared to make a darn turn!! If you are this scared to drive stay home or take a cab!!
ОтветитьLove ❤️ and Wishes 💐 from Kerala 🌴 India 🇮🇳
Jun & Rachel you both look very fresh and cute. Love to see you both and watch your videos. Hope you both are healthy. 🙏🏻👍🏻
My dad has a workshop.
ОтветитьI’m American raised in Germany and first driving in the U.S I was at a red light and didn’t read the part in the drivers handbook where you can turn right on a red light and couldn’t figure out why cars were honking and cussing me out for not turning. That was a big shock to me as well.
ОтветитьI know this video is old, but one of the funniest things to see in America is how some people put Rudolph noses on deer crossing signs. A little light and humorous vandalism of government property. And who are the culprits?? It’s one of my favorite things to see.
ОтветитьThat's wild that whatever state Rachel is from doesn't have car inspections.
ОтветитьWhere do you live in the states where you don’t have inspections?
ОтветитьIs her hair really red?
ОтветитьI hope Jun has watched Scrubs
And loved it
Ohh, the ceiling lights thing explains The Sims! In The Sims 1 they didn't have ceiling lights until one of the last packs and then you had like three to choose from. And then I think all The Sims-games from there have been lacking ceiling lights. But if it's not a common type of light in USA, that explains it.
ОтветитьTIL only 13 american states mandate yearly inspections, and by chance I've only lived in those! I was so surprised to hear that Rachel had never heard of a car inspection before.
Ответитьevreything is bigger in America lol. American people are much taller and bigger than Asians
Ответитьin Washington state we had emissions inspections: "After 38 years, Washington’s emission check program ended Jan. 1, 2020. We oversaw the now-retired vehicle emission testing program. With the end of the program, vehicle owners are no longer required to have their vehicle’s emissions tested before renewing their vehicle registration. Driving a vehicle with modified emissions equipment or a vehicle that smokes is still illegal in Washington."
Ответить👋 Hello! I'm a fellow American 😊 I just recently subscribed to your channel so I'm not sure where she's from but I'm from New Hampshire and we're one of the safest states in the country, we also have an open carry which means we do not need a permit to carry a gun around like other states do so many of us in New Hampshire frequently carry guns, we also do have a car inspection requirement and have to pay 2 fees every year 1 to register the vehicle and 2 to inspect the vehicle, I live in an area with a lot of nature, mountains, rivers, waterfall, and so on, also here it is common to see black bears and we tell people to leave them alone they're easy to scare off and if you just wait to let them pass they will, there's many deer, birds, foxes, squirrels, fishercats, wolves, coyotes, sometimes a bobcat and more!
I have Japanese friends (and someone I really like romantically who's Japanese) but things I hear from them is most of the time they are only aware of cities especially the big ones in America such as NYC, LA, and LV but not much about the rural areas/ states, they also aren't aware and used to understanding that America is very large and we have multiple types of accents, sometimes each state has one of their own, northern accent versus southern accent, we don't have many public trains in America which is a misunderstanding only big cities are like this most of us have to get to places by driving in the car, one of the things I heard that was interesting for a culture shock that they told me was about how we never leave our children or let them go out alone, they need to always be accompanied by a trusted adult, we are very protective of our children and America has a bad history of serious crimes relating to children so we do not allow them to roam free if unattended, also strangers saying bless you if you sneeze!
I'm not sure what else, it is also very commong for women to walk with a weapon or item for self defense!
Oh and we consider it rude if you bump into us without saying excuse me or oh I'm sorry 🙏. We will be sassy back to you and we're opinionated and most of the time speak our minds very openly.

You have to get your car inspected to license it in America. Also every house I've lived in has ceiling lights. Also I don't wear shoes in my house. I think it's really a preference.
