That's great! While I was listening to you, I thought why not throw in statements on posts like come on in and see what we have to offer you!❤️

I love my library, but they do no marketing. I'm still finding out things they do that I had no idea about after years.

Great idea, Angela. And very doable. I'm going to take your advice and try it. Thanks.

This is a wonderful idea and definitely doable! I absolutely want to consider doing this as part of my marketing SMART goals AND increase patron and community awareness of all my library's offerings. I'm wondering about tracking the effectiveness of these month-long campaigns. We will be able to review the engagement and reach on social media, clicks on the website, etc. What do you think about the overall usage of the offering being promoted that month? Is there a good benchmark of how much to have that offering usage increase?

Now that Redbox filed for bankruptcy, public libraries that offer DVD’s should be strongly marketing their DVD offerings. After all, not everyone has the internet at home and not everyone can afford or has access to expensive streaming services at home. DVD’s are a lifeline for entertainment and video knowledge for many people.

We have designed a series of programs called "How to Library." Each program presents information about what a library card can do beyond checking out books. Programs include "Using Your Online Library Account," "E-Books and Audiobooks," "Let Me Entertain You" (Kanopy, museum passes, etc.), and "Lifelong Learning" (Mango Languages, Ebsco resource sites, etc.). We offer the programs on a rotating basis in our various branches, so a new cardholder could attend all four sessions within 4 weeks if they choose.

Along a similar thread, I still LOVE Mary from Grosse Point's "Welcome to the Library" targeted emails. Giving new cardholders a quick 3-minute read about different aspects of using their library card via email is a fabulous idea!

As a new-to-marketing services librarian, I'm very excited to have found your blog--what an excellent resource! I'm looking forward to implementing this idea as we get ready to start a new academic year!

How often would you post on the resource during the month and would that be on Facebook and IG?

Ooh I love this! This is my first time hearing about the rule of 7 and I feel like something just clicked in my head with the 12-month idea 🤯(as often does with your videos!). I've been reassessing our promotion strategies and this is super inspiring. Also, thank you for taking into account small teams and how things can feel overwhelming (we all just have many awesome things to promote!) and this approach makes it feel more doable already- thank you!
