I’m all for staying in great health and shape, and doing everything to preserve health, vigor, vitality, inner and outer strength and quality of life. But the idea that we have to aesthetically rejuvenate our aging faces to reflect our inner vitality is a cultural construct. It dangerously deflects from the truth that aging with grace, wisdom and experience is a privilege. Instead, society increasingly casts aside the aging population or writes them off because of their age or looking old. This agism is reinforced by societal pressure to “look as young as you feel.” Who determined that looking old yet looking and being truly happy shouldn’t be the gold standard?

It is because the very segment that earns money promoting aesthetic insecurities in our culture has huge profits from it. Of course they promote the elided that we need to look as old as we feel. Or that we aren’t allowed to show our age at the risk of being thrown aside because we are old. This is the formula for taking down a society in a few generations!

The main argument Dr Karan makes here supporting plastic surgery is pretty crazy: “Elevation and quality of life that is completely natural and built into our system because it is shared by everyone universally on the planet.” Come on! This is a wild assertion from someone claiming to be a pro in the field for 20 years. Looking older and feeling younger give a gap (where you are) dissatisfied with appearance relative to look the way you feel.” Why are you teaching people who they should prioritize their physical appearance staying something that Nature specifically never intended? It is literally fighting gravity. Isn’t the problem with us? Like aging is something that isn’t acceptable? As a society, let’s put our investments into aging with increasing quality of life, health, meaning and joy in those later years instead of chasing the depreciating asset of aesthetic beauty. How many people think a plumped up appearance will bring them personal happiness, fulfillment and peace? Often it distracts and keeps people from the very thing they really yearn for.

We worship youth not just symbolically but literally. When a culture and society throws out the wisdom and experience of its aged and wants to replace them with the superiority of youth, it has lost its way. Since everyone who is now young will be old, every generation will get more and more lost with the youth worship. Let’s be deliberate and ourselves live lives focused on true meaning and not let societal standards replace the wisdom of good living bringing happiness. Neither a plumped and smoothed version nor a baby face is going to leave you on your deathbed with people loving you because of how you looked. Rather it will lead to deathbed regrets of a life squandered on chasing superficial imitations of love and joy.

Pre and post care is huge! People and Doctors don’t always recommend it, but it’s the fastest way to heal, have left down time. The most Important thing is pre fascial, lymphatic and alignment! So agree, but most women will have to save for a decade or more to afford an $85k procedure. Because of this they may fall for cheaper, short term procedures. I get the education, skill & artistry needed to perform these complex & detailed surgeries, but I look forward to lower cost methods with similar results in the future.

I just did my first laser fracture treatment. I had big sun spots all over my face and I was amazed seven days later when I woke up and they were no longer there at the being there for 10 days and 55. I don’t do a lot of Botox I wish I would’ve started 10 years ago because I have some little bit of hanging j0wls that’s really bothering me. All I’ve done is a little bit of lip filler I did do a little filler in my cheeks for the first time, but everything is very subtle and I haven’t changed my face at all. I still have wrinkles. I do do Botox, but not a lot but I do take care of my skin now I use a lot of skin care and I recently Try to go for facials once a month and do micro needling and continued doing fraxel once twice a year

Why doesn't Ultherapy work?

For my bumpy dull skin I´ve begun the Green Peel. I´ve had to and completed three Mesotherapys and will get Profihlos next. I only use HA serums on my face with a 20% azelaic acid cream, using an HA cleanser. My skin glows. CO2 laser didn´t do a think but rob my pocket. The natural herbal peeling was a bit painful but the results were awesome. One must really discuss in depth with the person who will be performing these treatments to really prevent you from being robbed for wanting to just look and feel better.

The whole point of antiaging treatments is to attain the best results without going under the knife. This is something I'd never do, I find the idea horrendous and scary. You talk so nonchalantly about facial surgeries, and it becoming the new thing, but this is such a harsh thing to do to your body/face. I'm sure there are other effective skin care solutions?
