People use Christians who don’t live up to standard as the reason for not believing in Christianity. I see their point. Although there are may Christians who inspire and many who disappoint, every Christian on the planet doesn’t live up to the standard that’s why Jesus came. Instead look at Jesus’ life in the gospels and use that as why you would believe or not. He ultimately is the one who saves you in the end. I would use someone who claimed to be God as my standard. The rest of us he promises to keep working on us and with us until that day. The kind of love Christ demonstrated when He was here has not been seen before or since. This is the love that changes lives!!
ОтветитьIts all hear say till actial Jesus show up or sctially exsist. In Bible Jesus even said to guy with just lipservice stay away from me and to who actally had deed & action thank you what he did was to other was did to him. From this content he horner not hypicrats or lip service(story teller withoutaction)
So according to his speach need actall deed or apparence in action not just story
only
But we do not see his actall appearance.
Jesus hated phypicrats teacher back then so am I . because phipicracy create so much pain suffaring in our world. That is not call love
His last commendment befor his cross Bible story so many doesnt obey today His ladt commendment was love eachother, not lie to each other not be phypicrat or not be only lip service egoistic.
...BB Warfield wrote an article called, The Emotional Life of Our Lord..and all it is is an in depth, detailed look at every place in the New Testament gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, - where ever it talks about the emotional life of Jesus...when he analysed it, far more than any other emotion, Jesus Christ is a Man of Sorrows. He's the Savior, but he is NOT Stoic. He's always weeping, He's always grieving, He's always moved with compassion, which is really a form of grief...Tim Keller's message, The Human Condition: Living When Life Hurts
Ответитьone of the first talks on Christianity that I find profound.
He is clear and thoughtful.
There are evil and suffering bc a perfect world would be boring? This is already the best we could have? The devil sinned even in heaven. So... could we have not sinned. I guess it was impossible
ОтветитьWhen I committed to studying God's Word, I found that He has gifted certain people to teach about a particular character of Christian life and about a particular book in the Bible. God is awesome that way. He is faithful if we seek first the Kingdom of God and the rest will be added to you. But be very discerning who you are hearing from and that their message is alway lining up with Scripture. Only Scripture can interpret Scripture. Man can not.
ОтветитьIf you get a brand new car, right from the dealership, and on the first drive the brakes fail and u crash, its dumb to go from that to say “no one made this car.” Instead we should say “something went wrong.” Same with God. Suffering, natural disasters, death... just because they happen u cant jump from that to “there is no God.” You have to seek out and figure out what went wrong.
Ответить"If I have you by the hand, even death is just a nice night's sleep." WOW!
ОтветитьTimothy does a great job explaining all of his sermons. He gets it
ОтветитьWow. "anti-fragile." I'm all for a neologism when one is called for, such as "milktoastmaster," a weak public speaker, or "shuckster," a humble, but disingenuous salesman. We're fortunate that English has words like flexible, yielding, elastic and even the overused "tough," that have multiple connotations and ample meaning. I feel like we're always dumbing down the message. It's essential that we speak clearly and in a way all can understand, but we are God's workmanship, his artistry, and we are epistles of flesh, the living letters written to mankind. We need not only to convince the outsider, we need to inspire. There is beauty in holiness.
ОтветитьGreat challenge!
ОтветитьYs would be great to hear Tim and Jordan . Plus with Richard Rohr
ОтветитьGod is a liar .its not love that caused him to go to the cross. Its his guilt of causing suffering to mankind that drive him to the cross
ОтветитьWhen you become aware of the planet you have to appreciate the awareness of a 4.5 billion year old life experiment. If "god" is eternal and all time is one, how do you attribute cause to 5 prior "mass extinction" events? How do you not see that we are in the 6th event. Did "god" screw up leading to the 5 prior events? "God" never showed up. Some cruel "practical joker"? Does "god" enjoy watching creation suffer. Humans would rather try to give "suffering" godly meaning rather than admit that there is no "god", and there never was. Time was never eternal. Time is now. "God" never showed up. There will be no more generations to delude. The paradigm shifts with this awareness. Truth is all there is.
ОтветитьKrishna in Hinduism also suffers with human beings too. I love Jesus too. 🙏🏾
ОтветитьThis is a joe
ОтветитьAMEN!! only our God has suffered for us & knows our pain. Praise God
Ответить"she spent all her money on doctors and they only made it worse" lol how typical
ОтветитьMY LIFE has become sooo painful. EVERYDAY its something else. I am filled with fear daily. It won't stop. Its not physical either. I am a smart girl age 58, raised decently, well, technically without parents as my mom died at age 9. Dad checked out after that, he remarried a year later. Just need Him to come back nOW.
ОтветитьSorry but he called Hinduism a great world religion. Any religion that sends you to hell is not great.
ОтветитьTim you know it All, His will be done! You have won my heart , you answered exactly what l was struggling with after losing my beloved wife 39 yrs . Amazing man of God you answered everything. Lord be with you 🙏
ОтветитьAs I walk with my wife to another home...after loss of much friendship and support...this message from Doctor Keller is comfort.
ОтветитьMy pastor talks only about healing. Nothing about suffering which is biblical. I live a life of horrible pain after suffering reactions to COvid. Awful. Suffering to some accuse us of being on sin. I don’t know how many times people have said that to me. It makes me feel so bad.
ОтветитьHe’s my favorite teacher but I don’t like how he described the girl as near dead. What is this, The Princess Bride? Was she mostly dead? The text says she was dead. Period.
ОтветитьThat's not relagion that's theraphy lol
ОтветитьThank you for a beautiful message...
Your message goes hand in hand with the book I am reading how to forgive what you can't forget.
Since I became born again in 2019 I got to experience the immense blessings of God. He has been kind to me in every area of my life, changed who I am and blessed me with more than I could have ever asked. But lately I’ve been faced with the reality of death, and that all the people I love will die. It made me question, why am I receiving such beautiful blessings, why are flowers so beautifully made, and the sun always rises and warms me; and then there is the overwhelming fact that my mom, brothers, and children will die. Why? But learning about suffering is very helpfully to understanding that this world was never meant to be my home. And suffering doesn’t diminish Gods love for me. I somehow, being a young Christian amongst God’s blessings expected only good things and a pain free life with God. But I’m hopeful to keep learning about God and the meaning and purpose of life and suffering.
ОтветитьTim Keller knew suffering first hand. His insights have helped me to cope and have given me hope Romans 8:28.
ОтветитьIn my opinion, Keller is one of the best preachers of our time. God has given him so much wisdom!
ОтветитьIf Rev. Tim Keller was an Orthodox or a Catholic, they would have already officially proclaim him as a Canonized Saint of the Church. I hope the Protestants will not forget him and his beautiful Theology and Legacy.
ОтветитьTim Keller had a major impact on bring “Wokism” to the American Christian Church, and the American National culture. I did us no good service.
ОтветитьRIP Keller
ОтветитьThe sad commentary on the reporter who said her research of those doing the most dangerous things to help others, caused her to recognize her secular view as causing her to be more upset over the suffering of others than those with a faith in the supernatural.
This sounds like the reason so many in the U.S.A. are subject to "virtue signalling."
If you believe your cause is just so stronly that you do not care to even hear the voices of those with a different take, you have a problem. But their "just causes" do not have thae proper godly, moral backing.
The sad part to me is that she seems to be acting like you are born secular, so there you go.
She instead should be noting the superiority of the godly view of the world and seek toward that herself.
Matthew 6 :33
Seek ye first the kingdom of God is the appropriate goal for every person on earth.
Unanswered prayer?
God answers the prayers of Christians.
A man's perception that his prayer has not been answered, is from man not God.
The church doesn't fail.
Member's of Jesus kningdom, the church, can fail. Individual congregations can fail.
But the church that Jesus built will never fail!
Matthew 16:15
Suffering is an important aspect in a christians life because it humbles us. God taught us a great lesson in the life of Job.
ОтветитьAmazing, thank you Tim 😢❤
ОтветитьThis is such a fantastic public lecture by Tim Keller. Simply amazing! Loved it!
ОтветитьIt is difficult to find your idenity when you get older.
ОтветитьI wish someone would address the topic of suffering from the Bible.
ОтветитьMy prayer usually starts with a true statement which is found in Job.
"Thou hast become cruel to me."
Not at all. If you're founding a Christian church in the most Christian nation in the world that speaks of egoism. Christianity is a monotheistic religion dumbass. Anyway this person was able to collect a paycheck and live in a luxury condominium while surrounded by thousands of homeless New Yorkers.
ОтветитьGod’s love was powerfully shown through this amazing preacher, and I’m so thankful that even after his passing, I can still listen to his sermons and continue learning about God’s love.
ОтветитьI will always remember Pastor Tim with fondness. I heard him preach in the early 1980s at West Hopewell Pres. He was in the infancy of his ministry bit his giftedness was already evident. He also truly loved and admired his wife, Kathy. An all around great man of God.
ОтветитьTim is the best!!!
He's just what my heart needs on a dialy basis
Trinity? Unbiblical
ОтветитьThe messages from this man are so beautiful. A true shepherds heart
