Thank you so much. Starting out with polymer and you make it much less intimidating.

@ThebloomingLily1 It depends on the embossing powder. In my experience, some brands of powder will emboss in the oven at polymer clay temperatures, while others seem to need that directed embossing gun heat. I'd say give yours a try and see what happens!

@craftygoat I tried it in my oven but the stamp image distorted, also i want to know the brand of embossing powder you use cause my powder melts the powder but not the glitter in it but it is called embossing powder.

@ThebloomingLily1 I like Ranger brand. Good luck!

@Ruchine10 Hair dryers tend to have higher air flow and lower heat than embossing heat guns. If you're not careful, the hair dryer will blow the powder away. Still, it doesn't hurt anything to try. Good luck!

@craftygoat okay thanks and what brand of polymer clay do u recommend?

@Ruchine10 I prefer Premo, but Kato and Fimo also tend to be good brands. I avoid Sculpey III because it tends to be brittle after baking.

can you still gloss after you have use the heat gun?

@Tinkertinkbell Sure. Give it plenty of time to cool & make sure whatever glaze you're using is compatible with polymer clay. (Sculpey makes some glazes specifically for clay, or Future Floor Polish also works well.)

Can you let it air dry or do you have to use a heat gun?

Embossing powder requires heat to melt/set.

Can you skip using the heat-gun on the embossing powder, and just put it into the oven with the clay?

You can try oven-setting the powders. In my experience, some brands of powder will emboss in the oven at polymer clay temperatures, while others seem to need that directed embossing gun heat. Do remember that you need to use the powders on baked clay for this particular technique, though, as the powders will stick to the whole surface of the unbaked clay, not just the stamped image.

Dear friend I would like to ask you this. I heard the heat gut blowing like a hair dryer, can't we use a hear drier instead? Thank you :)
