another great vid Angela!
ОтветитьThanks! :-)
ОтветитьThank you so much. Starting out with polymer and you make it much less intimidating.
Ответить@ThebloomingLily1 It depends on the embossing powder. In my experience, some brands of powder will emboss in the oven at polymer clay temperatures, while others seem to need that directed embossing gun heat. I'd say give yours a try and see what happens!
Ответить@craftygoat I tried it in my oven but the stamp image distorted, also i want to know the brand of embossing powder you use cause my powder melts the powder but not the glitter in it but it is called embossing powder.
Ответитьcan u use a hair dryer?
Ответить@ThebloomingLily1 I like Ranger brand. Good luck!
Ответить@Ruchine10 Hair dryers tend to have higher air flow and lower heat than embossing heat guns. If you're not careful, the hair dryer will blow the powder away. Still, it doesn't hurt anything to try. Good luck!
Ответить@craftygoat okay thanks and what brand of polymer clay do u recommend?
Ответить@Ruchine10 I prefer Premo, but Kato and Fimo also tend to be good brands. I avoid Sculpey III because it tends to be brittle after baking.
Ответить@craftygoat okay thanks again!
Ответитьcan you still gloss after you have use the heat gun?
Ответить@Tinkertinkbell Sure. Give it plenty of time to cool & make sure whatever glaze you're using is compatible with polymer clay. (Sculpey makes some glazes specifically for clay, or Future Floor Polish also works well.)
Ответитьwow...O.O thats one big stamp
ОтветитьCan you let it air dry or do you have to use a heat gun?
ОтветитьEmbossing powder requires heat to melt/set.
ОтветитьCan you skip using the heat-gun on the embossing powder, and just put it into the oven with the clay?
ОтветитьYou can try oven-setting the powders. In my experience, some brands of powder will emboss in the oven at polymer clay temperatures, while others seem to need that directed embossing gun heat. Do remember that you need to use the powders on baked clay for this particular technique, though, as the powders will stick to the whole surface of the unbaked clay, not just the stamped image.
ОтветитьThanks muchly! It's worth an experiment or two I think.
Ответитьthankyou for this - very useful - I'm looking forward to embossing on clay for the first time :D
ОтветитьThis is very interesting and the tutorial is very inspiring! I'm glad I just found this video!
ОтветитьJust luv this. It might just become a new hobby although i'm all pewter & stained glass.
ОтветитьOh thank you!!!! New to polymer and wondered how to incorporate my 60+ bottles embossing powder.
ОтветитьDear friend I would like to ask you this. I heard the heat gut blowing like a hair dryer, can't we use a hear drier instead? Thank you :)
ОтветитьThat explained why I got my whole piece one color, lol. Wet clay, lol. Now I know how to do what I was trying to do. Thank you for this tutorial 😁
Ответитьhi Angela, i would like to ask what kind of heat gun would you suggest to buy?
i haven't used one before and they are sooo many out there..
thank you!!
