The Office of Family Assistance (OFA), in partnership with the Children’s Bureau, has announced the launch of a new learning community focused on TANF and child welfare collaboration, the promotion of family well-being, and the development of innovative strategies to prevent family involvement with the child welfare system. This learning community titled Families Are Stronger Together: TANF & Child Welfare Partnering for Prevention Learning Community (FAST-LC), is built on a legacy of OFA-sponsored peer-learning initiatives. The FAST-LC will be a long-term transformational endeavor supported by intensive training and technical assistance.

On August 10th, OFA hosted an Interest Webinar for prospective sites to learn about what it means to participate in the learning community. The FAST-LC will be a collaboration among up to 10 state and tribal TANF – Child Welfare partnership teams. Teams will receive dedicated coaching time and access to expertise and research, along with active participation in a community of FAST-LC peers to learn from and share with. Interested states and tribes will be eligible to self-nominate their collaborative programs to be a part of the learning community through submitting their nomination materials by September 7th. Nomination materials are available upon request via email to [email protected].
