ya i know what you mean thats what i was thinking its basically a benchmark for things to come, just not right now
Ответитьwow, that looks really frigin safe
ОтветитьYes, it is bit too expensive... But Prius and Think Cty are in diffrent legaues - Prius is hybrid, which will show some savings ONLY in city, when Think is pure electric, which means "fuel" costs much, much less. BTW... I don't get it... People buy Prius, when for less they can have faster, more luxurious and even cheaper to refill diesel like VW Passat, or Citroen C5...
Ответитьis everyone dumb? electricity is more expensive than gas
Ответитьare you nuts??? How can you say that after the oilprice skyrocketing. You should be ashamed of yourself
ОтветитьThe computer will drain out the battery power!
ОтветитьElectricity is renewable but gas is not so obviously the gas is more expensive!
ОтветитьTh!nk Ox are larger ;)
Ответитьno its just you. oil over electric? put the pipe down!
Ответитьits a turtle on wheels m kay...
ОтветитьThat price is only in Norway. The journalist should not have directly converted that into american dollars. Avtually I belive the CO of Think said it would be somewhere between 15 000 to 17 000 dollars in the US. BUT in addition you'll have to pay a "battery-lease" at somewhere 100-150 dollars/month. (The price I mentioned is only valid I think, if the car is being buildt in the US) The first 2-3 (or more) years it will be build in Norway.)
ОтветитьAccording to the Seattle Times: Price: $20,000-$25,000 (est.), with monthly battery lease of $150-$200
ОтветитьWhat you just can't buy the car without the battery lease? That makes the monthly car payment about $800 a month $500 for car and $200 for the lease so cant we just buy it with out the lease? Or at least lease to own? If its $100-$200 a month its cheaper to just sick with gas in the long run. Granted I like the idea of getting one but the $100-200 lease would kill the deal for me.
ОтветитьI wish we did have cars like that in the USA. Unfortunately, we have absolutely no new diesel Passats anymore, and we haven't had Citroens since the 1970s. The auto industry here is very restricted. The only affordable diesel-powered passenger car we can buy as of now is the Volkswagen Jetta TDI.
ОтветитьNo thanks.. too small.. $30K ... battery lease... looks very unsafe... 10K production .. try to get parts in 5 years.
ОтветитьNo... Norway did not by the idea from Ford. Think was bankrupt for some years ago. But was then sold to Ford. Now it's sold back to a Norwegian investor mr. Stordalen.
Ответитьgood point
Ответитьeither way, Detroit folly on electric, AGAIN.
ОтветитьThat battery lease is ridiculous. At $4.00 a gallon, a weekly 20 gallon tank fill up is $160. Even at $3.00 its $120.. and you're paying at least $20 a month in electricity.
ОтветитьEr, I mean $320 @ $4 and $240 @ $3.. still, $150-200 monthly for a battery lease plus electricity, that's rough.
Ответитьso the car is basically subsidized by the manufacturer? (It doesn't retail at or above production cost, correct?)
ОтветитьThe "EMV" can now be built! (EV-electric vehicle , EMV-electromagnetic vehicle) Basically it is an electric car but it has its own onboard generator so the batteries don't ever need to be charged! No fuel! No pollution! No more power girds! No more expensive Lithium batteries! If you want to learn how to build one, I can show you. Let's work together for a clean future.
Ответитьits a norwegian company making them, and they arent close to getting bankrupt, so if it stops there, its the american importer that is it. but the car is gonna live anyways.. its our countrys only car, so its well protected. hehe
Ответитьdb98647, now the type of car you drive is a political statement? what a sad, confused world you must live in with those self imposed rules that requires you drive a 43 year old car to keep your street cred. god help this country
ОтветитьOh, well if he uttered the code word then yeah, hes one of them for sure! thank god you were on watch for the rest of us, keep up the good work my friend and don't let any of them get over the wall!
Ответитьand its chicken littles like you that are always frustrated when those obstacles are overcome. I promise not to tell the FBI or whoever imposed that gag order on you that you divulged those secret plans for the 75 mpg car. I hope discussing it in public didn't get you arrested of tortured or whatever "they" do with their prisoners. have a nice:-)
Ответитьhey everyboby, ya wanna see something funny? watch this: hey db9, isn't the reason the country is in a such a mess because people like you voted for Bush\Cheney... twice? what percentage of the blame do you accept for that? ok guys, wait for it, wait for it...
Ответитьwe sure as heck fire don't need no European style government programs here, right?. If gas is as expensive here as it is over there maybe it would be ok to spread the pollution around from that 75mpg diesel. You're saying we have to be socialist to get good gas mileage. Who's the liberal now?
Ответить"If he says that government can solve a social or civil issue he's a whack job" like school prayer or gay marriage? I agree with you there but don't those advocates have an R in front of their names? Understand, I don't give a shit either way but I do feel compelled to shine the light of reality on those entrenched in fox news ideology. You can't have it both ways... well, unless your bi-sexual (which, as an American, you can do what ever you want if it doesn't infringe on my rights :-)
Ответитьwhat do you think of a small diesel turbine generating electricity for an "in-series" electric car? would the reliability and efficiency of a constant speed turbine driving a generator be cleaner than an current diesel engines?
Ответитьi love the idea of electric cars and such, but how much??? a tin box with batteries and a motor?? it should ONLY be a third of that, if that! what possible incentive is there for buying one of these??
Ответить@PhobiaGuy its the price of the batterys
Ответить30 grand? No, I don't think so.
ОтветитьI will get a Mitsubishi iMiEV instead !!
Ответитьyes he said 30,000
Ответить$30,000 for such a tiny car... I know it's electric but please don't push it! That's ridiculously expensive. Plus, electric cars are cheaper to manufacture than oil cars, and batteries are nowhere as expensive than what those companies claim they cost. Just yet another way to charge more money to the uninformed unsuspecting consumers.
ОтветитьFor 30g's id rather have the Volt.
Ответитьdamn that's such a cool car!
ОтветитьSaw one several months ago, and I still remember it!
