Would be cool to see you take the boat down to Florida! New to the channel and definitely hooked!
ОтветитьWhy didn't you buy a sailing boat
ОтветитьYou're adding up regular monthly costs, with one-time costs...along with the price of the total boat cost (except you're making monthly payments).... make it make sense...
ОтветитьSo sick
ОтветитьGreat vid, we had a 40fter for about 3yrs but after mooring fees insurance and maintenance and lack of use we sold it and bought a 24ft on a trailer now its at home so much cheaper and we use it heaps more because we can take it to other places but truthfully i do miss the size of the bigger one.
ОтветитьGreat video. I live on a lake in Georgia. I have a Sea Ray 320 and we can use our boats year round with a bilge heater.
ОтветитьCool boat. I drove/lived in a semi tractor for 12yrs & I can live with less(now retired). If I were to do that in FL, I would buy a mid-sized pontoon boat and modify it. I like fishing, and would go for days on extended fishing trips. A 50hp outboard would work in the intercoastal waterway, with a 10hp trolling motor. You're living the dream.
ОтветитьI live aboard my 38 ft sailboat year round near Detroit, Michigan. It's not that hard to do. The hardest part is shrink wrapping the boat in the water. Once that's done, the rest of the winter is gravy. I use a clear shrink wrap that acts like a greenhouse on sunny days.
ОтветитьI wish I would of known this before I got mine but yeah I love it
ОтветитьWouldn’t it be worth buying your own truck transport it around the country , hot climate like here in Florida in winter summer up north .
ОтветитьCome down to florida. You dont need to stay in marinas. Anchor up for free. Saltwater is tough on the boat but we have some great fresh water here. Look up the st johns river. It meets the ocean in Jacksonville but runs all the way down to orlando. There are so many beautiful springs on the river. Look up silver glen, salt springs, blue springs. And the florida keys are awesome. Florida is the boating capital of the USA.
ОтветитьLiterally everyone on you tube except for you knew this was a cabin cruiser.
ОтветитьIf you limit the speed to around 8 knots, your range will increase greatly.
ОтветитьNice vlog like the way you broke it down I’m learning I’m listening 👍👍💪 stay with your boat why stay in a hotel in South America when you have that boat enjoy it brother I’m looking 👀 forward for some boat content. Later SHAZZAM Big🍎
ОтветитьNo kids NO Bitch 😅 dude yr my HERO ❤
ОтветитьAs far as heading to a warmer body of water in the winter I would be tempted to buy a second boat and leave it down south during the off season, something more feasible to trailer…
ОтветитьWe had a SeaRay 320 for years. The bilge had a heater and we didn’t winterize it the whole time. We also had a covered slip with a “patio” where we kept a love seat, chairs grille, dock box etc. we also had a bottom paint every three years and left it in the water. We were fortunate in Texas.
Ответитьif you can cook, sleep, chill, shower and took a NO.2 while looking netflix its a house !!
(just saying hater gonna hate what they cant reach)
I love your boathouse and all my respect for what you fight for nice channel Brandon!!
Not a cabin cruiser
😢😢😢😢
You know what boat stands for right? Bust Out Another Thousand
ОтветитьGet a nice dinghy use it to run around and have fun let the boats sit at the dock.
ОтветитьSo , What's your monthly payment and how many years ?
ОтветитьDid you ever consider buying a sailing yacht as the wind is free and you can sail the world.
ОтветитьThank you 58K not bad price whom did you buy it from?
ОтветитьThank you for sharing the cost , i would probably do that same deal.
ОтветитьWinterizing the boat yourself is super easy. Been doing it for my Dads boat for 15 years. Def worth just doing it yourself to save $400
ОтветитьInduction cook tops and all electric (grills/etc) are the way to go if you want to keep insurance costs down and if you really use your boat and open the windows/doors the drafts make cooking with gas a PITA.
ОтветитьSouth America right now (like Colombia) is very cheap if you are bring USD down with you.
ОтветитьNo thanks just money pit
ОтветитьBoats are money pits like camera better save money not have it never get rich wasting money on toys
Ответитьhouse + boat makes sense to me carry on!
ОтветитьEnjoyed your videos moved from Ohio to Texas living on the lake here😅
ОтветитьWHY SUCH poor gas mileage???? I mean cars get 5-45 mpg. What’s the Difference. I guess it’s 2 V8 engines. What’s wrong with 1 V8?
ОтветитьUr in Beaver area?? I live in Ambridge not far from sweickley marina
ОтветитьI build boats for a living, 25 plus years. Hydra sports. We build a 52 ,55, 62 foot fishing boat. That sleeps 6 people. Each of these boats has 3 ,300 gallon fuel tanks. Imagine having to fill those fuel tanks. 😢
Ответить♦️Brandon - just because you did not mention it on your winteriztion list, be sure to winterize your water heaters heat exchanger and shower sump.
Look for two hoses that form a loop from one motor to your water heater then a second hose from your water heater back to the same motor.
If you have this two hose system as I described, after winterizing your motor, remove the two hoses from your motor, use a funnel to pour RV antifreeze into one hose until you see RV antrfreeze pour out of the second hose. Now you can re-install your heat exchanger hoses to your motor.
Shower sump, simply pour RV antifreeze down your shower drain in your head until the overboard discharge pump comes on then stop.
Hope this helps you avoid a costly repair.
Thank you for creating and sharing this video.
Came across you videos cause I am always looking at boating related content. I have been boating most of my adult life and I am now on my 5th boat. You have a well manufactured boat with Cruisers so good purchase. Someone commented not to fill the boat wiith gas and water if you are not going far and that is so true. More weight means motors work harder and burns more fuel. Best of luck and do not get discuraged when things break, it's not a boat unless something is broken on it. LOL
ОтветитьGreat video, appreciate the clear explanations!
ОтветитьIf you get heated storage winterizing is not necessary
ОтветитьNever understood the current high costs of marina gas. When I was growing up marina gas was dirt cheap because there were no road taxes added in; and the quality was usually a little less (aka off highway fuel). I can remember when the gas station for the car was 99 cents a gallon for regular leaded and the marina was 64 cents a gallon for regular leaded. Seems like the current expensive marina gas is a scam.
ОтветитьI must admit that once I retire, I've always wanted to sell the house and everything and do this .
ОтветитьYou’ve convinced me, I’ll stick with my van life. Sprinter is much better on fuel. Even with 35’s and trailer I get 10mpg. 😊
ОтветитьNice video, thanks. Going south for the winter figures are not right. You don't have to go to south Florida or the Bahamas. I wintered on the boat on Hilton Head Island and that's about 700 Miles from Pittsburg. If you have a trailer, rent or borrow something powerful (doesn't have to be a truck a big old powerful car will do it) and tow it down south by road - you'll spend a few hundred dollars in gas. Stay on for the summer, great golf courses and beaches.
Ответитьget an induction cook top and you wont mind not having gas
ОтветитьHow about just calling it a "boat"? "I live on a boat."
ОтветитьYou have great fuel burn! For comparison, our ChrisCraft 381 at about 26,000lbs with 2 Mercruiser 454’s burn 2gallons a mile at 18 knots. It’s carbureted though. I think the gen is a gallon an hour. Our marina in St. Joe, MI for a 40’ slip from April-Nov. is $3,400 includes utilities and swimming pool. Gas at our marina was normally 5.20 a gallon. Got gas for $4.23 this summer in Hammond when Chicago (15 miles north) was $6.70ish a gallon if we would have refuel there.
ОтветитьCurious who do you use for boat insurance
ОтветитьThe costs were reasonable. Nice boat at a reasonable price.
ОтветитьThank you for your input on the costs, I am thinking about getting 40-45 footer, but I'm not sure yet. I like the comfort. But being here in a wamer climate in Georgia, your information will be helpful in my choices
