How can we make sure that a secret remains a secret?
Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) is a method to distribute keys for cryptography secured by laws of nature. In this video, Alice and Bob are discussing what QKD is and how it can be used to communicate with each other without being eavesdropped.
The video was created by Lukas Knips (LMU & MCQST), as part of the QUBE project.
About QUBE
For the first time, the research satellite QUBE will test newly developed quantum communication technologies using a very small satellite in space. The objective is to support secure, worldwide data transmission in the future.
QUBE is a joint project with OHB GmbH, DLR, LMU Munich and the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Light. In this collaboration, advanced quantum technologies are combined with powerful optical communication systems and integrated into an innovative CubeSat system.
