The Worst Toys of Megatron

I would like to add the Kingdom Beast Megatron figure. The soft plastic shell is riddled with clearance problems and the metal pins that hold the T-rex thigh pieces onto their slide joints come out of their sockets far too easily; I had to replace one of the ones on mine with a screw just so it would have enough purchase to stay on, and the one I repaired now works better than the one that uses the original pin. Plus the back panel refuses to stay pegged in and it just feels fragile overall.

I know this wouldnt have worked with the 3 3/4th scale but i feel like the GIJoe ones should've just done the micro figure thing from the Star Wars bots to save on budget

Big disagree on Combiner wars Megatron. It is still my favorite , despite a couple of flaws.

Hot take: armada megatron belong the list. It has its pros, but the cannon is awkward in bot mode, and the tank mode doesn’t bother to
Cover up his head, which bizarrely has pinchers on it that design wise comes out of nowhere. No other figures would get a pass on that.

I’m surprised that he didn’t include the leader class revenge of the fallen megatron from 2009

Couldn't disagree with you more on the Combiner War figure. Yes it has issues but that's one of my absolute favorite Megs toys that I have. He just looks awesome to me, I always love a Megs whose fusion cannon doesn't have to come off during transformation, and most importantly I love that they somehow managed to work in actual functioning tank treads instead of the usual fake treads with little wheels underneath.

If it doesn't transform into a gun, then it should be in the list.

If anything, cw megatron is the best modern g1 megatron for every aspect but the articulation

I actually like the Machine Wars Megatron, though I did feel the need to remove his stickers. He's cute, and his colors are great. Beast Machines Megatron is also not that bad. In fact, if they changed his gimmick from the neck snapping thing to a firing mouth missile, he'd be pretty good.

FYI. The first Masterpiece Megatron, MP-05, was designed in that many days. Five. That's why it sucks. Not because Megatron is too hard for Takara to engineer. They were just overcrunched because they had a hundred Bay Movie toys to shit out.

I would like to see that siege Megatron mold get used at least two more times , with some retooling to create A second type of the decepticon soldier & sparkless bots or zombie transformers

Kinda surprised you used the normal version of Voyager Megatron for the 2007 movie. It is bad but the "Battle over Mission City" repaint is so much uglier and just as crappy.

You’re completely right about that bludgeon , and as for a sword it still has a curve to it. I have tried to straighten it out many many times , I like the idea of samurai Megatron, They should’ve just made a completely new body using the samurai theme

Bludgeon is an awesome figure. But that mold shouldn’t be Megatron

HISS Tank Megatron would have worked better if he was mostly black, and he's been that colour before.

I will never understand why they used Prime Breakdown for Megatron AND NOT FOR CANNONBALL.

I have nostalgia for combiner wars megatron, it's the one I grew up with and I like how it looks. It's big, and has a presence to it, with real moving treads and a nice swiveling turret. It looks good standing on a shelf.

Unfortunately, the posing is abysmal, his legs literally cant move forward. He has good qualities to him but I dont recommend him

I would argue that Combiner Wars Megatron kicked off the popularity of G1 masterpiece “esque” figures. Sure there were masterpieces before it but this figure made it mainstream and reinvigorated G1 transformers toys

I actually think the original masterpiece is the worst. Not because of how it looked, how flimsy it was, or anything like that but because it was all those things with a big price tag. Titanium sucked hard core but atleast it was only like $.15.00. ive had both of these figures and neither of them were any good, but i didnt feel so bad with a 15 dollar piece of junk. When mp costs atleast 150 dollars and was also a piece of junk.

Also titanium came apart but could go back together fairly easily. MP i remember the first time i transformed him it took over an hour. I broke 3 if his fiddly little panel tabs and the tiny micro screw holding his arm on unscrewed itself from rotating it. I did get the screw back in ,but after spending so much on him i was beyond disappointed. Megatron being my absolute favorite character possibly in all of fiction was the only reason i even took a chance on the spindly piece of junk. It remains one of my biggest purchasing regrets.

Ouch, my soul hurt with all the bashing of Most Wanted Megatron... that was a grail figure of mine and I was so happy to get it. I guess I'm the one guy it was made for. lol

HARD disagree on the pretender megs. That fig is legit. Megs pretending to be OP, what's not to love? And I don't know how anyone can be mad at the RotF retool when it has the g2 colors that go soooo hard.

I actually want that bot con Megatron. His cheapest price on eBay is 113 to 130 bucks.

I have a soft spot for Movie Megatron since the first movie kind of got me back into the series following Cybertron and he and movie Optimus were my definitives for a long while, but I wasn't a fan of how messy he looked and how...weird it was to transform him.

Combiner War Megatron was the second one i brought for my collection, with Combiner War Skywarp being my first one. I have some foundness for him

Eh, you're right about CW Megs, but, at the same time, you're also wrong. Yes, his articulation is pretty limited, and yes, the shoulders do look odd. BUT, the tank mode, imo, looks great, and the DX9 upgrade kit goes a long way to improving how the robot mode looks, and functions. I have the third party KBB Obsidian repaint of the mold, which comes with the DX9 kit in the box, and it transforms the look of the figure, and gives it a commanding shelf presence quite unlike any other mainline Megatron toy

I really like that weird little machine wars f22 megaplex/megatron thing, it doesn't fit the character it was sold as but still looks like a nice figure to mess around with if you just don't think of it as megs
