How to Balance a Half up Hairstyle

Hey, I'm a dude who grew out my hair around the age of 21, so I didn;t grow up knowing the basics of styling it, so 95% of the time i have it all pulled back in a simple pony or a clip. Most hair styling guides just kinda brush over how to grab half the fair. Thanks for finally explaining it to my dumb ass, lol

I’ve been googling this subject for years. Never found much info until now. I do barely pick up any hair already. I have a lot of hair, but wondering if not so thick around the temples and if that makes it silly looking on me. I’ve always wanted to do this style (my whole life.). Any additional tips would be great!!
