She basically said to let yourself be sad so you can be happy.
Ответитьhow does this only have 600k views, i feel like the whole world needs to see this shit
ОтветитьI mean this is true to an extent but also a major source of depression and anxiety for many of us in the 2020's is watching the world burn from our smart phones and having little capacity to do anything about it.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьI'm 24 and during my lifetime I have been addicted to alcohol, smoking, porn, fast food, binge watching, scrolling and gaming. I quit every one of these activities, then got back to most of them after a year or two. I am now trying to rethink my behavior patterns and integrate these activities into my life so that they bring me pleasure occasionally without becoming addicted to them. It is tough though because I sometimes slide back into my old habits. I often experience anhedonia and I'm constantly in search for ways to fix it. Finding happiness is a struggle for me and the socio-economic setting I find myself in adds more suffering to my already unpleasant life. I try to rely on friendships and physical activity to bring me pleasure, together with trying to make more money to be able to afford a more meaningful life with less stress and an access to pleasures that are more wholesome and less harming.
If you have read this to the end and have been in a similar situation and have something to say, I would gladly read it. Thank you for hearing me out, wish you have a peaceful day❤
You said vape and immediately considered hitting the vape
ОтветитьThanks for the video. I’m curious what the correlation between masochism and sex are in terms of pleasure pain balance. Sex is commonly seen as something to only be pleasurable, without discomforts. Masochism is a way to use pain to enhance sexual pleasure. I wonder if masochism is something that should be explored more as a longer term pleasurable way to have sex opposed to regular/vanilla sex.
ОтветитьI love this video. Shared it with all my family and friends ❤😊
ОтветитьIt really sucks when your drug of choice is a lot harder than video games 😂 the concept does remain the same though. Great video
ОтветитьDecorrelating happiness from financial means is really stupid. We're relatively more poor than the past generation
ОтветитьDr Pimple popper! Omg, that’s so me. 😂
ОтветитьSocial media was my drug. At first I deleted all related apps from my phone and only used them on my iPad which meant only at home. Then I avoided Facebook and Instagram for a month. That felt so good that after coming back to it, I decided to disappear for a year. The year is over and every once and again I check in, but I have no desire to actually being immersed in the experience anymore. My life feels more meaningful now.
…. This experiment with the dog made me sick to my stomach. They could’ve very well experimented on themselves.
This seems pretty positive at a first glance, but are you sure that suggesting massochism as a way to subvert our coping mechanisms is healthy? If I were to guess, I'd say that the massive consolidation of wealth and power leads populations to disassociate and generate trauma responses in order to bear the horrors constructed around them.
ОтветитьAmazing amazing video
ОтветитьDevils advocate... What if my depression and addiction leadin to my inevitable suicide is jus' the human psyches evolutionary reaction to our transcendence into cyborgs?
So, then wouldn't the most selfless thing to do for the human race, to let tha happen and allow the continued reproductive success of the humans most genetically predisposed to adapt to this highly stimulatin way of life?
If anyone's drug of choice is an actual drug or especially alcohol, especially if you're a heavy user, be VERY careful and don't stop it abruptly. Please seek medical advice before deciding to take a break, withdrawals can be deadly.
ОтветитьThis is probably the most important video on the internet.
Ответить5:23pm 9-13-24
ОтветитьThis correlates with the trans movement and the degradation of family.
ОтветитьMy video is translated in Portuguese by the google voice...can someone tell me how to put on original audio?
ОтветитьDang it
ОтветитьIn the countries with higher wealth doesn't mean that the wealth are spread evenly. It would be interesting to know where the people interviewed within these countries sat in the spectrum of wealth.
ОтветитьThe best video I heard so far
ОтветитьIt’s like this video was made just for me
ОтветитьExactly the video that I needed , all the content makes perfect sense. Thank you
ОтветитьI really appreciate the videos that give an intro by the speaker before the white board. I think it lends merit.
ОтветитьI love the way she explained all of this
ОтветитьDid you factor in raising wealth disparity in wealthier countries as a component in raising rates of anxiety and depression?
ОтветитьDear Dr. Lembke,
I find this video very worrying.
You suggest that people should abstain for a short period and then advocate using the "drug of choice" in measured quantities on certain days with friends.
I am an alcoholic of thirteen years sobriety. This has meant completely abstaining from alcohol, as it does in all cases of alcoholism and certain other drugs.
My concern is that the methods your video suggests may be seen as an alternative to total abstinence, which I know from personal experience simply does not work.
Yours,
Bob McGowan.
Dopamine nation was genuinely one of the worst books I've ever read, nothing but moralist slop made to place individual blame on people for being addicts vaguely based on real neurology. The amount of positive reviews it has gotten disturbs me
ОтветитьMine is cannabis for sure. I’m 4 months in of quitting after smoking for 14 years. I’ve been struggling the past few days. Been thinking of doing moderation but am scared to be honest
ОтветитьI might be spitballing - but the repercussions of feminism are extremely FARRR reaching.
It makes sense if you think about it
thank you so much
ОтветитьThis is beautiful, thank you for this video!
ОтветитьIt’s the beginning of Facebook that killed the world .. 2008 she said rates starting going up and that’s when facebook started to gain popularity.. ignorant bliss was gone forever.. we could see the “behind the scenes” of people lives and households and started to compare each other’s lives creating many many mental health problems as we can now all see … it’s a cool idea but should never have happened 😢
ОтветитьIn the Pursuit of Pain
Ответитьwonderful video! thanks.
ОтветитьGod bless Anna. She is a blessing to us in our time of need.
ОтветитьThis is an incredible message, I was looking for something to help my burnout and I not only found exactly what I was looking for, but you helped me identify the source. Bravo!
