ОтветитьWe used to find zinc gets knackered on flat roofs if a cat pisses on it.
Ответить👌
ОтветитьI suppose it depends on the quality of the zinc flashing used, is this a coastal area or an urban area?
High acidity from pollution might drastically shorten a lower grade products life span.
Never seen sand and cement mix poured over lead like that - what does the guy think is going to happen - the leads going to expand and contract and crack the cement and bits will fall off, run down the roof into the gutter etc.
Thanks for sharing your work Steve! Best wishes
ОтветитьFks shambles
ОтветитьA mortar haunching over a lead flashing....jings, doesn't even look like much cement in there and I doubt they're trained in using NHL instead of cement...I'm a conservation mason to trade and always cringe when I see work as crap as this...I'd be wearing a hard hat going in and out the house!
ОтветитьAnother interesting video, 🙏 thanks
ОтветитьGood video, these repair jobs are a nightmare, reality is that you should have a proper work platform to carry out these repairs but the whole roof covering is coming to the end of its life , difficult to put that to the customer I bet
Ответитьroofers seem to be the worst of trades to deal with by far , if you ever do find a good one be kind to him , they are very few and mighty far inbetween.
ОтветитьIts beyond me why more roofers don't use black cement dye in mortar for ridge pointing looks far better
ОтветитьTerrible workmanship from the previous 'roofers'. My DIY skills are better.
I bet they done her a really good cash deal as well.
I applaud you Steve for getting this lady out of trouble with your quick repair. Well done sir.
Steve - cover flashing at the abutment OVER the tiles. Useless and lazy. Long lengths of lead. Standard of workmanship. Seeing these everyday as you know, it's actually becoming constant now.
